@@michauxbornsthat's ridiculous! David made Niles attraction to Daphne believable. He is a terrific actor. Also how do you know Mahoney was gay? Just because of rumors? Unless he ever came out himself I'm inclined not to believe hearsay.
Me too...I immediately fell in love with his beautiful delicate features, and it's so sexy how comfortable he seems in his body. I think he looks the hottest (no pun intended) when he's dressed in a white linen top and trousers in the episode when Daphne shows up at his apartment (during a heat wave) because she and Sherry have had a fight.
@Pardon me - DHP is an amazing actor, but Jane Leeves was extremely underrated for her acting prowess in the show. We mostly watched from Niles’ perspective, as Daphne was oblivious for so long, but once she found out, just watch out for the subtle nuance in the following episodes as Daphne went much quieter and reflective, especially when Niles was not on the scene. You can see that she has something on her mind. It’s all part of the brilliance of the show.
He's a brilliant actor, he played Niles fantastically. Now, Jane Leeves is gorgeous and it was very believable that Niles would fall for Daphne because she's played by Jane Leeves 😊
gotta gbe the best love storyy in sitcom tv evne mor eso when you consider how the writers kep tit interesating even after they got together, which is usually the down fall of any such sitcom romance '
I think the funniest scene with Niles and Daphne was when he was asking her to try on skimpy dresses "for Maris". Daphne came out afterwards and said something like "I'm glad to be out of that last dress! It was so tight i had to take my knickers off just to get the zipper up!" and Niles dropped his glass in shock. I love those two so much.
Nothing will ever get me like the long, extended silences of Niles awkwardly reeling and having to compose himself from something suggestive Daphne unknowingly said while everyone else looks at him with a mix of annoyance and pity. I can only imagine how many times the cast had to reshoot scenes like that due to excessive laughter.
"Learning how to blow smoke" "Where?" lol I knew that was coming, but didn't know how exactly. Even the predictable jokes on Frasier are still "unpredictable"
It's a good compilation, but they left out the best scene. It's just after Daphne finds out from a semi-conscious Frasier that Niles has always been crazy about her, and Niles drops by for a visit. Daphne looks at Niles in a different way, and he, unaware that she knows how he feels, simply says "Hello, Daphne". It's one of the many bittersweet moments that made "Frasier" a cut above the rest.
David Tribble I agree; and I would add that some of the best moments of pathos also come during the episode when Donny proposes to her, as well as the two-parter, "Something Borrowed, Something Blue" when Niles learns of Daphne's feelings for him and tells her that if she'd just say the word, he would leave Mel (who he's just married, thinking Daphne didn't share his feelings). The acting by David, Jane and Kelsey is wonderful, IMHO.
Another episode that I love is where Niles and frasier go back in time and reminisce his and Daphne's best moments Such a bold episode too.after all those years old build up and they're finally together then they test the relationship in a pretty serious manor for the whole episode. First watching it I almost believed they'd split apart.
When I first heard they were doing a new show with Frasier, I didn’t think it would be good. Turned out to be my favorite, ever! Have the entire series on dvd and have watched it through many times and will continue to do so. GREAT show! GREAT cast! The Daphne/Niles crush is the best part!❤️
In my opinion the absolute best love story ever on television and also the best ever funny show! I've watched every episode of every season over and over again so many times over the years I won't even dare to guess a number. So many feels so good moments of laughter watching Frasier. An amazing cast, love them all. I literally wept as if losing a beloved family member and friend when 'Martin' (John Mahoney) died in 2018. I still want to see a reunion show though, I think he would too. ; ) This is a great little video for a feel good laugh today. Thank you!
I love "Frasier," it was one of the best-written shows ever, as was its cast, whose chemistry was amazing! I always watch the end credits to listen to Kelsey sing the "scrambled eggs" song 😃. Thank you for sharing this!
I always LOVED and got the biggest kick and laughed for the rest of the show almost whenever Frasier caught Niles and Daphne doing something innocent but could be construed as naughty, or doing whatever Niles did when he fawned over Daphne. So funny. Never get tired of it.
I just finished the show last night and god am I sad. I’m so happy with how everything turned out, but it was a bittersweet ending, for the characters and for me, because I just lost my favorite show. Niles and Daphne’s relationship was always the most captivating and sometimes melancholy parts of the show, for so many years to see Niles loving her from afar, and then to see them settle down with a child...it was amazing development, and I’m glad the show went in this direction. Niles was always my favorite character, and I’m glad he grew into himself a little more and learned that he deserved more than a woman who belittled and ordered him around. It was an amazing character arc, and I’m really gonna miss him and this show.
I’m rewatching Frasier for the millionth time and I was struck at how classic the comedy is, the timing, the physicality: it’s Bob Hope, Jack Benny and even Buster Keaton. 😉
I love the episode where the 4 go on a trip in the camper van and cross the border into Canada. The final scene shows Niles videoing Daphne while she's sleeping. The camera moves up to Frasier's face and he has that look, "Niles, what are you doing"?😂😂
Think that's bad. I fell in love with Daphne the more I watch this show. I love her strong character, her accent, her laugh and her beauty. Who wouldn't fall in love with Daphne?
@@random6579 BRO SAME. I spent so many moments screaming at my TV, and to see them finally together was like a breath of fresh air. Also, no one can deny that’s he’s stinking cute, like I love him in every sense of the word. Every time he would go on screen I’d get so excited, glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. 😂💕
I liked the show, whenever it would come on I would watch little bits and pieces and it was funny. But when I actually watched a few full episodes and learned about Niles crush I became a HUGE fan! I loved those 2 ...
I randomly watched 2 episodes maybe a year ago which were the ones where Niles' feelings for Daphne were going to be outed during the hearing with Maris and he was stressing out about it. As soon as I knew there was an unrequited love aspect to it, I immediately starting bingeing the show. I've slowed down since they got married because I find it less exciting with the lack of anticipation. Aside from that though, it was absolutely hilarious! Definitely one of the greats.
I really cant think of a better showon tv history. yes, many great comedies, but nothing compares to this brilliant brilliant show. everything about it is genious!
I miss this show sooo much. I think it's mainly just because of these two. I'm a sucker for secret crushes on sitcoms. TBH their relationship is the only one I actually liked when they got together. If this was another show I'd be quite mad because it ruins the show. Also because there's not that awkward yet exciting anticipation of what's going to happen between the two next. It makes for good tv IMO
"is that...forbidden?" "in every sense of the word" 🤣 the amount of times fraiser walks in on niles doing something and has that brilliant look on his face. "NILES!"
To this day I wish strenuously that there was an emergent new Band called "Cherry Bark and Almonds" in tribute to the superlatively gorgeous Miss Jane Leeves as "Daphne Moon"!😂🎤🎼🎸🎹🥁🎷🍒☕☕📺B.W.
The show ran from 1993-2004, and I didn't see one character change more than Daphne Moon. I actually liked her character more in the early years, she was a lot nicer.
It was when she got fat that she changed. For those episodes her whole stories were other people mentioning her weight. After that it seemed they didn't know what to do with her
TJ Wells Or even not mentioned it. Just had her gain weight then loose it over time. Sometimes that happens with people. I would have barely noticed anyway lol.
TJ Wells Yeah, and it was stated that while the baby was a healthy weight (9 pounds 4 ounces, which Niles mentions as inside info) it was said by the cast that Jane personally didn't gain a lot with the pregnancy, so they should have just not mentioned it.
@dhom100 I totally agree. I like this show a lot, but loved the moments with them. It was even better because of his attraction and their relationship.
Few Americans would know....including the show writers apparently....that "fanny" in England means a woman's crotch. Where we say fanny they would say "bottom". And of course Daphne would never say that.
