Freddie Mercury is not famous for his illness, but for his talent. He was a brave, strong man. He was an extraordinary talent and a charismatic man. At that time, this terrible disease was unknown. Freddie couldn't know.. Freddie Mercury's music is the music of beauty and freedom. eternal. Freddie is irreplaceable. Unforgettable!
Freddie infected his lover Jim Hutton in 1985 right after Freddie broke up with Winnie who also died of AIDS. Jim said in his book that he could take or leave it when it came to sex but Freddie was insatiable and Jim swears he got HIV from Freddie. Freddie knew about AIDS and many of his peers and friends were dying from it. To claim that the disease was unknown while Freddie was sexually active is wrong. He also did an interview with David Wigg where he talked about having given up sex and was growing tulips. He could have been honest and told people that he had been diagnosed with the disease but instead he said nothing. Even the statement he issued the day before his death wasn't from Freddie. Jim Hutton said Jim Beach issued it and Freddie was too out of it to have done so or wanted it released. Freddie was a phenomenal man but he could have done something to save lives and he chose not to do so.
He did know about aids already early eighties and in an interview he was very honest about his promiscuous and excessive lifestyle. He just ignored it and paid the price. He was not famous for his illness only but its not normal to just not talk about it.
@@cleopatra1633 I don't think we have the right to condemn anyone. Only God can judge, not you. . Freddie Mercury was a complicated, very complex person. Because he was very talented, a Genius. His life was not easy. He suffered serious injuries, so he and his actions cannot be blamed. He never hurt anyone. He served good and beautiful with his talent.
Agree, but 1986 was the year he told Brian May that this was probably going to be his last concert He was so exhausted after this concert, instead of going to the after party with his other band mates, he went home with Jim Hutton. He said to Jim " I am so exhausted" So sad, he will be missed forever!!❤️
Thank you very much Sound and Vision for this Interview Video of Freddie. God Bless You Freddie Mercury. 💞 May Your Beautiful Spirit, Forever ✨ Shine ✨ Rest In Peace 🕊️ And Love 💞 Darling 💫 Amen 🙏🏻 From Lynette in Illinois USA 🇺🇸 August 30, 2023
Unfortunately all Freddie Mercury could do, was lie after lie. Public eye life, doesn't give you any peace or any privacy. Life. Overall I think Freddie Mercury, did all he could. With the time he had, left. One of his last songs he sang, was all about the joys of life. Yet he didn't have much time, left on earth. Yet I guess the songs & music made him feel alive. Rip Fred ⭐️ 🙏
Probably caught HIV between 80 and 82 when he lived in NYC and was like a kid in a sweetshop with all the gay clubs and bath houses that are now notorious for the spread of HIV in the 80s in USA. He had problems with his voice and throat infections before 85. Think he was likely to be below the T cell count threshold for full blown AIDS around 85/86 although it wasn’t until 1987 that his physical appearance became obviously that of someone very ill
I got oral thrush once because a drug I was on killed the good bacteria in my mouth and allowed the bad bacteria to overgrow but my immune system was fine.
@@debra2700 well yes, it’s not an AIDS defining illness like some conditions. There are certain types of pneumonia or things like Kaposi’s Sarcoma that you just don’t get unless your immune system is screwed. But if you’re getting oral thrush repeatedly and you’re not on antibiotics or other medications that might cause it then it’s a strong indicator.
He was diagnosed with full blown aids in 1987, and it usually takes 10 years from being infected to get to that stage, so he was probably very ill with hiv for years before he got aids. Kaposi is a sign of aids though, so if he had kaposi in 1984, that means he got aids much earlier than 1987. I wonder when he got infected. It must have been in the mid 1970`s.
@@yellyman5483 Freddie was living with Mary in the mid 70s and also was having an affair with David Minns. Mary is still alive and David died of a heart attack. Freddie most likely got exposed when Queen went to NY City in 1982. Freddie complained of feeling sick and feverish when they performed on Saturday Night Live.
@@debra2700 Being infected in 1982 doesn`t fit with the timelime, if he was diagnosed with full blown aids in 1987. It takes ten years for the hiv virus to develop into aids in a human being give and take a couple of years.. If he was infected in 1982 and was diagnosed with aids only five years later, Freddie was very unusal. It might have been the case, but based on the ten year timeline he must at least been infected in the late 1970s. Hiv was present in the gay scene in New York from the early 1970`s, and Freddie used to party like crazy in New York in the late 70`s. It is very unlikely that he did not come into contact with hiv during that time when he had hundreds of unprotected sex encounters at bath houses, and gay bars. Freddie was living it up .He did everything, and he did not use protection. A lot of his lovers died from aids in the early 1980`s. He was already infected in 1982, and was spreading hiv to others without knowing about it. He did not settle down sexually until he met Jim Hutton in the mid 80`s, but by then it was too late. Freddie was very ill, and died only six years after meeting Jim Hutton. Jim caught hiv from Freddie and died a few years ago.
Shame on this speaker!!! How dare he???? He shows no respect whatsoever towards this wonderful artist. AIDS is now possible to endure with drugs for a relatively long time...but then it was totally incurable. He shows no sympathy at all. I am not going to listen further
I think the interviewer thought he was run down and had a flu or something. And as Freddie said? he WAS working round the clock- doing Bad Guy and The Works and the tour , all at the same time.
Freddie didn't know he had HIV/AIDS until 1987, he suspected he may have had it but didn't get tested until he found a KS lesion on his shoulder which confirmed HIV/AIDS
Shame on you. This is fake interview! I never heard this before AI. Freddie never did weightlifting, he did not torn his knee 3times (just once and I believe it was not even a knee but ankle), he did not loose his voice in South Africa (actually he was strong in SunCity). Also he never complained about his heath even he was very sick. You shall not disuse modern technology to fool people. Instead you shall make some add value.
