I'm preparing for the PMP exam and these theories were one of my biggest issues. You made them so clear and simple, now I'm confident they will no longer be a problem for me. Thank you for that!
I just heard of Herzberg's two-factor theory today, and I found this video to be quite informative and rather simple, especially when the theory was likened to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Thank you for this wonderful video!
Glad I could help @SuperGrateful777! If you're looking for information on expectancy theory and Maslow's hierarchy of needs you may want to check out episodes 27 & 20. Hope this helps.
The presence of motivational factors would mean little if hygiene factors are not present first. Remember, hygiene factors are fundamental and necessary to ensure a reasonable level of satisfaction. So if you lack job security (a hygiene factor), it wouldn't matter if you were recognized at work (a motivational factor). A lack of hygiene factors is a source of extreme dissatisfaction, and there is plenty of research that supports an unhappy worker is less productive and more likely to leave.
I have to agree. You've been a great help. I'm currently studying Organisational Behaviour (mba) and found a lot of topics on your feed. Keep it up! Already informed my fellow students.
I am doing a paper in business on the theory of motivation and these points were difficult to me and this video helped me so much. Thank you, you have helped me big time!
Its a great way to learn away Herzberg's two factor theory of motivation. You teach it in an understandable way. If i am going to be picky i would suggest that you teach based on a presentation and dont use the drawing board to write. Writing and teaching takes alot of time and may cause boreddom. May i also ask what kind of drawing board you are using? The precision is excellent!
so does this mean if hygiene factors don't exist in a firm and motivators do, i would be dissatisfied but I wouldn't be able to get motivated? actually im struggling with the difference between satisfaction and motivation atm ._.
I think the is a really importante, in motivation´s factors, its the work, just the work, to have differtne types of tasks and turn it from these tasks, and have more responsabilitis to take descisiones. Thanks

my professor asked me to explain this theory so your video and your way to explain it make it simple and easy, thank you I'll use the idea and the matching between Maslow's hierarchy needs and this theory in my assignment and I'll but your video as a reference
Excellent overview. You've helped me better understand the likeness of Maslow to Herzberg's work. Now I'm trying to compare and contrast Vroom to Maslow and Herzberg. Thank you!
