Oh, for goodness sake! If people don’t want talking, they can watch one of those music only videos from somewhere in Asia with disembodied hands doing the sewing. I really appreciate all your little tips and tricks.

Your instruction, with thorough explanation of both the why and how, is a big part of what makes your videos so useful and enjoyable. It isn't enough to just see someone sew a beautiful garment if one also wants to attempt to achieve that outcome for themself or just wants to fully appreciate the craftmanship and artistry. All the thought that goes into the myriad decisions is what makes your garments so beautiful; sharing it the way you do is what makes you so beautiful. Please know you are appreciated exactly how you are.

Lovely dress. Like the solid fabric with the contrasting topstitching. And once again you showed how to adjust a pattern I would have dismissed to your personal style. About the talking, I am sure that most of your regular viewers come here just for all your indepth sharing of the how and why. Don’t listen to those complaining, we love it, we love you, so please keep on sharing your thought process. 💕

I have feared this relentless rude world. To those that have nothing nice to say, keep it to your selves. Say nice things and be positive. If your impatient about getting to the point, there is a finger or a mouse to make any video go faster. Not this video, you are so detailed in what you say and important details. A teacher would never be told hurry hurry. 🥰❤ I hope we are emerging in a nicer more positive world after covid 19.

Hi Karina, I just had to rewind and listen again - I am so sorry that you've had negative comments, I think some people really do troll the internet with malicious intent. You really have absolutely nothing to apologise for. I'm sure that I speak for our entire community when I say that there is absolutely nothing that you should change. I (for one) don't only come here for the sewing content, I come to listen to my friend talk passionately about our shared hobby/passion. I've learned so much from you and am extremely grateful to you for all of your content, not only the generous sewing education, but for everything. Added bonus for me is your midwifery background (I am a retired midwife in the UK). Keep on keeping on and please don't listen to the haters, your channel is exactly that (your channel). We come as visitors and should behave as such. Huge hugs to you Karina. xxxx

Thank you so much! I must say that I miss midwifery with passion but am glad to be away at this time with everything that is happening. I can't legally practice here in Brazil. The comments have been hurtful because they have been written as if they were intended for others to read and not me... example "she talks too much".... I am the "she" and I read the comments....

I feel like I should maybe comment more, I watch all of your videos. There are some vloggers I don’t watch because they talk too much, but about non sewing things. I love that you talk a lot about sewing things. I like hearing your philosophy in sewing the way you do, it makes it thoughtful sewing and that you aren’t just sewing mindlessly, “the way it’s always been done.” I appreciate the info about the curve of your waist, mine is too but I thought I was doing something wrong.

What is especially marvelous is that I learn so much despite our physical differences - I am short (160cm), small busted, pear shaped, sway back, forward shoulders! How you determined the position of your waist casing was brilliant (to me anyway). Thank you, thank you, thank you. I think I've learned more from watching your channel than from anywhere else. Your dress is beautiful and perfect on you! Please, don't ever stop your commentary and explanations - I listen to every word and when I hit a problem in my sewing I ask myself "What would Karina do?" . I have said it before, but I will repeat that for.me your every vlog is a much valued sewing lesson. Thank you!

I still really like this dress and your take on it. In particular, the exposed casing seems to be a great technique for adding it to an existing garment. I have a rayon shirt dress which I like but I bought it second hand and it didn't come with the matching self-belt. But without any belt I don't think it looks as nice. This exposed casing means I could add one to the dress. Thanks Karina! Your tips and POV are always so helpful and creative.

Thank you for all the detailed technical content on princess seams a waist casing, has answered lots of lingering uncertainties I have had for years on how to do both of these!

Excellent make! I never would have thought about how and WHY you did the exposed casing and arm and neck finishings the way you did. Karina, you take all the guesswork out for us and give us so many creative options and techniques to incorporate into our makes. Thank you, and who doesn't love a free pattern?

Some people are rude for no reason. I really appreciate how detailed you are. I've only been sewing for a couple of years and I have been able to get some great help from your videos and how detailed you are. You are a blessing for less experienced sewers. Thank you.

This is a super obvious statement, but, Karina, this is YOUR channel and you make the rules. If someone doesn't like those rules, well, people have that right and they can just go find something they like better. Your channel is exceptional because you share so much valuable information in your particularly lovely way. Each video is like a mini sewing lesson from a master of sewing, but always with humor and warmth (which both require words to convey (😹😹😹). I've sewn for decades and have rarely found anything you say that I don't agree with 100%. Many other new things (especially inside details) I've learned for the first time because you provide such detailed explanations. You be you, dear Karina, own your lovely channel and know that we love it because it reflects the high standards you demand of your sewing. 💚💚💚

Thank you, I think a new viewer who expects only sewing could be the one making the comment probably. I'm happy to be reassured :)

Hi Karina, I’ve only recently discovered your channel and I am so pleased. You are inspirational and so enthusiastic With your guidance I’ve adjusted and made two Stacie Jeans Jackets and transformed a boring skirt pattern into the Legit Denim Skirt. With extra time for sewing during the lockdown I’ve looked at my stash of fabric with new eyes, thanks to your good ideas.

Thank you for going into so much detail Karina, I'm an experienced sewer but there is always something to learn from you. I agree with Karen Schafer below, this is a different style of video to those quick snappy ones. We all have different tastes & you cannot please all of the people all of the time. This is your channel, you do it your way!

I think a larger bust always needs waist definition, otherwise it'll hang like a sack.

I'm sure those comments sting, and they would certainly bother me. It really really bugs me, because any kind of critical comment in life is super hard to shake off. Your videos are perfectly on point! We come to you to learn, actually learn, from your experience! Your makes speak for your expertise! Your explanations are invaluable!! One would never dream of telling a professor to talk less! Sheesh! You are well spoken and always stay on point! You are truly appreciated for sharing your knowledge so freely with us! We love you and your channel, Karina! 💜 I tried a simple princess seamed top last week. I think I need to lower my apex like you do. I would love a follow up video on princess seams! Instead, I only took the front seam in a bit over my bust and then the neck gaped a bit, more on one side than the other. I would love to see you explain ways to make adjustments to the seam. Also, what are your suggestions with a pattern that has the 5/8" seam allowance? Can we trim it down before sewing to get there benefit of a 3/8" seam? Meanwhile I'll keep practicing! Still so much to learn! 💜

Love the dress and the colour. I think this is one of my favourite dresses that you've ever made. By the way, I think that big plant behind you could be an Agave. I had some in my yard when I lived in Arizona.

I really appreciate all the details you talk about. How we treat each garment will determine whether we end up with a garment that looks homemade or looks professional. I like your explanations and reasonings for the princess seams and the bias finish vs facings. The exposed drawstring waist is definitely a great style detail for this dress. You look lovely in the dress! Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. God bless.

Hi Karina. Only discovered your channel yesterday! Having watched you construct your dress, I'm not as afraid of princess seams now. I'll study your bias binding techniques next as it is another aspect of dressmaking which I am nervous about. Sewing a dress and being able to avoid the facings would be far easier. The dress looks lovely, so professional and comfy as well.
