Without France, there probably wouldn’t be an America, not only was the French revolution the underpinning for the American revolutionary war but France incurred $1B in debt for providing George Washington’s army with money, troops, armament, military leadership, and naval support. The British would’ve easily won otherwise
He is not annoyed, he just don't know how to react. Standing ovation are not really a thing in France for politicians. Plus he must be stressed, but definitely not annoyed at people acclaming him
Perhaps it’s not annoyance, but just that he’s hanging on to the flow of his speech, since he’s speaking in a language foreign to him. He’s doing pretty well making his tongue wind and unwind managing the syntax of English. !!
We're it Constitutional, I wouldn't mind Emmanuel Macron being President at all. Fun fact: Eight of our Presidents were technically born in British Overseas Territories that pledged fealty to the Crown.
Øyvind Næss who said anything about Congress? Do I need to spell out my comments for you? Macron speaks English, a language that is not his native tongue, better than Trump speaks English, a language that is his native tongue.
Few Americans realize that France's military assistance in the Revolutionary War made the critical difference in gaining American independence. This is why we have seven-acre public park in Washington, D.C., directly north of the White House. The French also created the most iconic symbol of the U.S., the Statue of Liberty, a gift to the people of this country. It was dedicated in 1886.
Octavia Sithole this guy, micron, is a douchebag. You cannot trust the beautiful speach of a serial liar. He destroy everything he touches, and lives in the world of billionnaries and banks that promoted him. I invite to look further than the apparences =)
You can tell educated Republicans have already stopped using the Trump 2020 call and have stopped living in the past and living in the glow of the President winning. Why? Because educated Republicans have actually taken history courses. You dont see people running around in discussions today saying "Oh I was such a big Nixon fan" "I stood by Nixon, through it all!" and can you name any that did and actually stayed in office? No you can't because they didnt. Now the Boomers did create Trump and he is a market created PRODUCT not an actual good President. So you are going to have fans who like him because they are fans of the person, not because he can actually do the job correctly. But as a voting majority it wont hold water, you can have a one off, but it was just that , a one off. If you win a one off, you want to do something with it, but they did not do anything with the time they won. They had huge opportunities to create laws, fix things as they saw fit. Yet they could not even create a good tax system. This will end up historically costing them for at least a generation. You have already seen the back swing coming back the other way and its going to be a very harsh swing back this year. Its happened before , its history, read a book. Which is why you dont vote for people who are extreme right or left. It breeds these harsh swings and creates instability. The good news? Well in most countries that dont have good systems in place their would be politicians swinging by ropes outside of buildings. Presidents with this low of popularity numbers might not need to worry about the next election. But we have a stable government, something everyone should be thankful for. Go vote , encourage others to vote, but if you are a red shirt right now, I would really suggest talking to the people who wear blue shirts and start talking out your differences. Because mathematically there are more of them than you and historically in the long run thats not going to go well for you. You just had a one off. Dont get cocky.
go the f-ck back to trump's vile 'the fake news outlet channels .. your not wanted where we that lives in the real reality world knows real honest news ... can't take what a real president acts and talks to the world'' as they been saying .. this french president is the new free world leader.. trump's is just common idiotic illogical corrupted fat liar thug. face the fact trumpster.. trump won't last the year... he might as well admit defeat.. resign.. everything about his corruption is now hitting him hard.. there's no ought of it for trump..
What is sad, is that he clearly took more (or at least paid more attention to) courses on US History and US Government than Trump or a majority of our own citizenry. He knows a very good amount of the history of our founding and the Early bond of our two Nations after the French and American Revolutions.
Unbelievable that a man who speaks English as a second language speaks more clearly and concisely than Donald Trump and he does it with notes, not a teleprompter!
He speaks in english because Trump told him to do so probably, just like it happened with the attacks on Syria. He is a "politician who does politics" as he said, and we know who are the mast€er$ of Politicians by career
If you think that Trump's state of the Union address was bad, you must be a butt hurt liberal moron. Go find your safe space before it gets dark. hahahahaha!
That's what he tried, he did the same with French people, but words aren't the same as actions, and after seeing his actions, French people are super angry now and they are on strikes non-stop
@@Eric-uh7nl A patriot ?! He doesn't even spoke in his own language ! He is a freaking puppet of the USA ! No, it's all, but not a patriot. He considers us, Frenchmen, through numbers and social grades. It's not what I call a "real leader". Today, he even sayed (in English, what a surprise...) that the French history must be forget and review. It's a traitor, a coward, a shame for us, but not a patriot.
Revelation 13:1-2, 5 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.
Yep. He might be the AC. If he takes over as head of the EU when what’s her name steps down …..it becomes more and more possible. A lot of his past (do your own research) seems to comply with the notion that he very well could be. Time will tell. Trust in Jesus Christ and there is nothing to fear
One of the best speeches I get to witness, in a while. Bravo Macron! that was incredible and impressively articulated. Not quite agree on militarianism viewpoint but climate change and importance on standing and sticking up against the false nationalism, sealed the deal for me.
Current events confirm deaths from gun shootings in USA 1000 times higher than the sum of people being killed, raped and tortured by Islam related acts in France. You can keep America - it is a mess!
Jo G meanwhile he is jetsetting across the world yacht sailing and could give a shit about the climate change that isn't changing. He is rallying Trump to give him our taxes to take out our middle class genius.
What an insult, they are so proud of his constant backstabs that they are striking non-stop for over half a year! A beatiful speech won't impress them, they already heard them before, yes, before Macron proved to be a traitor of his nation and does the opposite of what he says
I loved the way Macron-the-Knife stuck the blade in and twisted it around and around and around ...and the standing ovations of the gobsmacked Members of Congress! (( looking forward to the toddler trump tantrum tweets ))
The toddler who commanded Macron into doing what he claimed was horrible and promised he wouldn't do! Another lie to the list of Macron, French people hate him already, after less than 1 year people are fed up, he bends to whoever pays him and french people are striking
what do you mean, what he said about the common history of the USA and France is correct. You can agree or disagree with his ideas, but his speech is impressive nonetheless.
I likes his accent in English and his wife is older than him..so that right there tellS me, he does what makes him happy and doesn't follow esterotypes ..
It's not a State of the Union address. Its an Address to a Joint Session of Congress, which is one of the many ways a visiting Head of State or Head of Government is honored. Past addresses have been given to Congress by Sir Winston Churchill, Elizabeth II, Syngman Rhee, Eamon de Valera and many many others.
Emmanuel Macron has got visions for Europe .... and the USA ... for me he is formidable - amazing - overwhelming in this speech ... in absolute contrast to Trump!
A conciliator is someone who feeds a crocodile hoping he will be the last to be eaten. Winston Churchill.
The US is strafing away from geopolitics and turning back into an isolationist posture, like they have done so many times in history. Macron may be one of the only strong links keeping the US from completely closing themselves up. What Macron is trying to do is charm Trump and the US back on world geopolitics alongside their western allies, he is basically responsible for keeping a door open when so many others have been shut close due to Trump attitude towards his allies. He is trying to keep the US close to the EU and he has been quite succesful if you see his approval rate in the US and how Trump regards him. So you may not like the way he does it, which is mainly rubbing backs while subtely showing his agenda, but it works apprently. Do not forget that the crocodile that you speak of is a long standing ally. And that is, I believe, the key point you missed about this relationship.
If he meant what he said in this speech, he would stand at that podium speechless before the UN in lieu of this 2021 US government. Everything he said here, would have to be redacted.
Alexander Howlett move to France. Oh wait.... they won’t accept you as a migrant unless you are extremely wealthy and can contribute to their country. Dummy
tony mazzeo it's ALWAYS love it or leave it with you people. I wonder what you'd have done if Hillary won? Put your money where your mouth is? Probably not.
