She's right. It was just better-Runescape or ToonTown-for-Warcraft-Kids I was an Adult when WOW launched, and a hardcore MMO'er. I remember it very clearly
I want them to go all the way with this shit. Like in the next game's story, I just literally want that scene from Wayne's World. Just have Dan be adorned in like 12 different brand logos while telling his sponsor that he's not gonna sell out to the man
Nah Paige is way too hot to be Pat Twin sister, she's like one of those hot distant cousins that is kinda ok ish to bang but not socially acceptable yet.
Hutt E yeah, but the way capcom is doing it now is you’re going to start earning less money than you did before for the same thing. Instead of just increasing it if you turn on ads, the stander earning will now be what you make with ads on.
@Hutt E Think of it this way: Less | Same | More Less (w/o ads) | Same (w/ads) = bad Same (w/o ads) | More (w/ads) = not so bad It's essentially you being nerfed and need the ad buff to return to what you were. While the other is you being the same but has the option to get an ad buff if you want it. One is a lose-win option and the other is a lose-lose option imposed upon you. But you are not incorrect.
That's not the same. That's not the same at all. With the current one all you can do is lose money. They are removing your ability to gain the NORMAL amount if you don't have ads on. So in other words it's a punishment. And as Woolie said, the ship has sailed on that idea when they made it a full price and sold it as such. Woolie's idea takes the sting off. If you don't want ads you won't lose anything, it's business as usual. Nothing will change for you. ...Buuuut if you let us show ads, we'll say thanks by increasing the money can earn in-game. An INCENTIVE if you will.
Functionally it'd probably be the same numbers, yeah, but given this is an industry that thrives on simulated property a little mental gymnastics can go a long way towards player self-worth.
These types of decisions that get passed, really make me wonder where there head is at. Of course they are thinking about money, but i wonder if they realize they are trying to advertise to people who have already purchased their game. Like they said, if they made a F2P version with all these heavy ads, then sure. But targeting the people who have already paid and supported your game, is just so scummy.
The addition of ads with bonus fight money in them sets a dangerous precedent and could allow Capcom to throttle the current payout in order to force people to turn ads on while still saying it’s optional. This is always a slippery slope.
Paige would be a great regular(or semi-regular, damn you lupus) 4th person on the podcast. If she'd drop by on the SBF channel for an episode or two that'd be awesome too.(I was gonna say a playthrough, but let's not get greedy at the starting line :P)
What significant input could she bring to anything video game related. If you listened to the whole podcast or watched one of her streams, you would know that the awnser is none. Therefore you're trippin with "great 4th regular".
In this vid: Tons of misinformation 1. The outfits are new and free and part of the ad sponsor program 2. There are ads on specific DLC stages only (CPT bundle stages) 3. The loading screen ads are literally just a static image for 2 seconds before a fight 4. The fight money values all stay the same, by toggling each of the 3 ad options you get 4 bonus fm per ad, its a hardly noticeable difference. To clarify, you don't get less by turning ads off, you only get more for turning them on.
Destiny 2 did the same thing with the XP thing. At first, you would earn less experience for doing the same thing over and over again(to stop people from grinding too much and over leveling). People realized this and got mad. Now there is a "Well Rested" buff that gives you bonus XP for your first 3 progression bars of the week, and no one is complaining.
Seems like the article they got had the wrong information regarding how the ads works, basically fight money you get are still the same if you turn it off and you get extra fight money when it's on.
If they did like a Street Fighter V Last Round maybe it would be fine, but the game already costs like $70 just to get it plus Season 3. It sucks too because what I played of SFV was fun but the amount of crap you needed to buy (many of which wasn’t available for fight money) really killed it for me so I ended up refunding it.
Raffinari WAIT WHAT. HOLY FUCK. That genuinely makes me really sad now, I was really proud of him. Not many people on the streets actually get the opportunity or sometimes, even attempt clean themselves up and try to make an honest living again. Man that sucks. Didn’t know he had a sister, if there is some form of afterlife hope there ok. Life really has its way of fucking over peoples
The whole problem is the JP said of Capcom, is like a bunch of kids running after dangling key chains... they probably think that, "oh shit, Fortnite is big, cuz it's free to play, and it shills for a bunch of sponsors, we gotta do that"
I find it silly that instead of giving Ryu a different set of clothes for the advertisements, they just copy-pasted them onto his old one’s. Specifically Ryu. Because he has been wearing that same gi for upwards of twenty years, and can probably count on his hands the amount of times he has washed it, I doubt he would take the time to lovingly embroider a brand logo onto it.
The thing that's bugging me the most is, like Pat said, the logos on the characters that would have no reason to be there. Ryu is a literal karate hobo. He sleeps on the street and eats only what he can harvest from nature or some actual food once in a while when either Ken or Sakura is around to treat it to him. Like, look at his dirty ass training gear! His gi isn't even white anymore, it's fucking gray by this point. He probably hasn't washed that since SF2! And he's gonna plaster it all over with logos of sponsors because..? Then we have the other end of that spectrum with the villains wearing uniforms with famous brands on them. Imagine M. Bison with Apple stylized gear. Because they totally would allow their logo to be associated with a man know to be a wanted dictator, crime lord, drug smuggler, kidnapper, war monger, and supposed sex slaver. Actually, I wouldn't put it past them.
I disagree. The loading times are slightly longer, and assholes with crappy pcs take even longer on vs screen too. And aesthetically it looks so out of place. But the worst part is how they treating the costumers. Damn
Truly this is the darkest timeline for sbfp, it's all loli butts and hobofights now. Getting some plague of gripes vibes, is plague gonna be the newest best friend?
This is stupid. I kept on thinking "maybe I should pick up Street Fighter V", but Xbox Game Pass has Mortal Kombat X, so I'm glad I dodged this shit. MKX has its own problems, on a design and gameplay level alongside some monetisation stuff that happens a lot in fighting games. If any game would have this kind of sponsoring thing it would be one of the UFC or W2K games. UFC literally has sponsored shit on the mats of the octagon, on the shorts of the fighters and just... around.
Patt being neurotic. Its street fighter 5. Who says ryu has to be homeless this time? Most likely the sponsored costumes will be meta and the characters will be unaware. I dont really see it as so bad if well done.
Pat was sooo right... It is worse. Also with three mic in front of his face kind of looks like a beard at quick glance and I'm realizing he's just turning into Jeffry from virtua fighter
They need the bigger prize money to attract more advanced and top players, because nobody wants to play sfv and get randomed out anymore so maaaaybe they're trying this as incentive?
I feel like I'm the only one that isn't that put off by this. Ok, listen, people like Woolie and Pat and the like, the serious players, aren't the targets of these ads. They were always going to buy the game and the packs and support the product. THAT's why they have the option to turn off the ads. Which, by the way, do NOT reduce the fight money received by being off, that's a miss-statment from the article. You earn extra fight money with the ads on, and normal money with them off. But someone who just got the game(or get's it free to try it out) will be in a better position going forward by using the extra fight money from the ads as they decide whether or not to pay more into the game going forward. I don't see this as a GOOD thing for game in general, it's not a positive. I wouldn't use it as a selling point. But I also don't see it as any kind of cataclysmic failure or betrayal.
The problem is more that the "Slippery Slope" argument, which is normally fallacious, has proved to be fairly accurate in the games industry the past few years. Basically people are more worried about the potential implications of this and what it might lead into. But it's a bit too early to tell at this stage. This could be fine, or it could be shit. Depends on the implementation.
Those are good points. As long as they either continue to allow payed players to opt out, OR introduce these mechanics as a separate free to play option from the primary game. Introducing new options without taking away from the paying players isn't that bad a thing. As long as it stays that way.
@@FireFlyDark Except that he owns half the channel so you know...good bye the channel The fact some of you guys are so gunghoe about shitting on the guy that actually started this whole thing is really disappointing
Isnt that 12, per match? (meaning 12K over 1000 matches) [which isnt even that unrealistic for a fighting game fan] It also makes no sense, would hermit Ryu whom is forced by ken to accept money to fly to tournaments, really accept any kind of sponsorship? Would millionaire Ken NEED a sponsorship? Why would WCDolans sponsor M Bison as he tries to destroy the world? ANd honestly the precedent is gross in of itself. Lootboxes and micro-transactions are ridiculous enough, we need to draw the line at some point, even if it takes sacrificing a good fighting game to do so. (Ads that ruin the presentation and waste my time for even a moment are an absolute deal breaker IMO)
Wow, I'm pretty glad I stopped fucking caring about Street Fighter. God damn it. This is also the wrong way to go on fighting games, Killer Instinct showed everyone how to do it.
