I don't see why so many are pissy because he survived. It makes sense because he's one of the only characters that could have. Really just he and Sonic are the only ones that could 've escaped
I believe that Kirby being the survivor of the Omega Universe Pounder Beam is just coincidence, but the BALLS on that man for saying the name backwards being a Kirby reference is ALSO a coincidence are astounding. Sakurai gives NO fucks and it’s brilliant.
Death battle is almost never right about power levels, or they willingly ignore or gimp fighters (see: Cloud vs Link) Yang vs Tifa, Gaara vs Toph and Tracer vs Scout are the worst examples of this.
Crazy Talk actually makes it so he is absolutely *incapable* of willingly lying. The moment he knowingly says a falsehood, his Stand will make it real just to make him be wrong.

So is Kirby the Rohan Kishibe of Smash? A creation that the creator that denies that he is his favorite, but he still does things that implies he's his favorite. Then when people call him out about it he just tells them to shut up.
@@kirbylover37 Considering they've said the Best Friends thing started because Matt and Pat hated each other and thought them playing together and screaming at each other, while calling themselves "Best Friends"...I'm surprised they became friends at all, really.
Poopscipade It was actually supposed to be Matt and Woolie for that first video, but Woolie sent Pat in his place. If I remember correctly Matt and Pat didn’t even really know each other.
The reason Dalmatians are the way they are, They were raised to be Guard Dogs for Carriages against Highwaymen. The Fire Truck reminds them of that purpose, so they are fantastic for that job. Likewise they probably make excellent Guard Dogs for companies who can afford to train them.
Sakurai has Super-Bias for Kirby and is a huge liar but I don't care, I prefer kirby as a starting character than Mario or Link. And the salt is delicious.
Hmm... I wonder if this game has two specific characters in it representing their absolute BIGGEST franchises, one of which being the most popular and recognizable mascot on the planet, and one being the most profitable, and both are also super easy to play for beginners as well 🤔

RenegadeSparks yes because Mario is also known for being a cosmic overlord with clearly defined abilities to escape it. Seriously only 3 characters could realistically escape bayo and meta knight and Kirby. And Kirby is the only character that is easy to pick up as a first character as well as being part of the starting 8

Considering Kirby got away "because he had the Warp star" and Captain Falcon and ANY of the characters from Starfox in the game have their own means of transportation that are also fast? It really just was Sakurai favoring the little squishy blob he made. I'd be more forgiving, but I'm one of those people miffed that the character I want isn't getting into smash, and I kinda don't like the idea of just casually ignoring his obvious reasons or justifying them, like Joker as a DLC character clearly exclusively because he's popular. (Hell, there aren't any actual persona games on nintendo consoles, Q most certainly doesn't count, including no P5 on the switch, though if I'm proven wrong on this in the future I won't exactly be dissapointed) Brawl also showed how Smash can essentially revive franchises that are totally dead, and I think Wonder Red from Wonderful 101 would be better, seeing as how the gameplay design is more obvious and Wonderful 101 got fucking SHAFTED
@@RenegadeSparks Sure, there aren't any mainline Persona games on Nintendo consoles, but consider that Atlus' main SMT series has been hanging out with Nintendo for a while now (SMT4/A, Strange Journey/REDUX, SMT5 in the works, etc.) to the point where they made a crossover game that basically tested P5's visual style development alongside Catherine (#FE). Honestly, it's not that big a surprise that the two companies are in good enough contact to make a deal for Joker as DLC. It's a good marketing strat for both of them and a sign of further trust.

I guess Sakurai doesn't hate Waluigi and that's why he put a Piranha Plant in instead of him, even though he made it very clear that he knows people have wanted him since Brawl. Man, I would hate to be one of those guys who had Waluigi as their number one on the Smash wishlist for so long.

Interesting to hear Pat say that about Dalmatians. Maybe the one I knew wasn't entirely purebred, but there was a Dalmatian I knew who was the goodest of boys. Maybe different circumstances? I don't know.
A trained or well socialized dog is a good boy no matter what, but Dalmatians are some of the types of dogs that NEED to be trained to be the goodest boys

Saying that PS All Stars' team never expected to make a sequel is, I think, a little ignorant. They had so much DLC they wanted to do and they were shocked to be closed down. I think a sequel was expected but never materialised for a lot of reasons.
For all intents and purposes, PSASBR (boy it really is a long acronym) was a pretty well enough game, especially for a smash-clone that tried to do its own things, and there a a LOT of shitty smash clones tha failed even on that regard. I'm still holding out on there being a spiritual successor or a sequel from a more well known and competent developer to this day. It just didn't get enough budget or time in the oven, and then was quickly and quietly stomped out and a cigarette.
A reminder that they put Donte in Playstation Smash Bros instead of another character they considered, Dart from Legend of Dragoon. Also Joker in Smash.
Welp, there's a correction for someone... Dalmations are fine dogs. What they are not are house dogs. They tend to be higher energy and maintenance than other dogs. So yes, when everyone got a dalmation thanks to Disney, and those dogs grew up in a house too small for them, with a yard too small for them, with a family that wasn't meeting their needs for attention and activity, shit went bad.
I don't think Pat has ever played a Kirby game himself "environment unfit for Kirby". Does Pat even know Dark Matter!? Also Sakurai is always biased about his own stuff when it comes to Smash. Melee's menu being almost like Kirby's Air Ride menu. Subspace Emissary having Mario or Kirby as your first choice. Smash on 3DS being 80% full with Kid Icarus Uprising stuff. And now Kirby as the only surviving hero.
So the full argument Sakurai made for why Kirby survives is because he has a magical vehicle to help him get far enough and because no other Spirits get caught that are as strong as him (like how other Kid Icarus gods are spirits so Palutena can't survive). 1. Kirby is not the only character with a "magical" vehicle because Star Fox and Captain Falcon. Sure those are more sci-fi but they still have made--up stuff that allows them to bypass normal powers. The fact that Falco's Arwing didn't escape still baffles me. 2. There are multiple spirits in the game that are big bad bosses in Kirby, like Magalor, and even though Kirby beat them, he just barely did and they had otherworldly powers that he doesn't. Also, Meta Knight was captured. Meta Knight is constnalty portrayed to be Kirby's rival, someone as strong as Kirby. In fact it's strongly hinted that he's the same species as Kirby too, so they're really close to equals.
Kirby is the physical embodiment of void made manifest, he's able to travel galaxies with his warp star like they're nothing, arwings are fighters that operate out of a larger ship carrying them, magolor's spirit isn't from when he had the master crown so he isn't that powerful, and actually if you look, non of Kirby's main antagonists besides nightmare and a stray dark matter are spirits. Zero, dark mind, dark nebula, void termina, nova, star dream. So yeah, Sakurai is being consistent Edit: dark mind is a spirit, but the point still stands
ShyRanger Meta Knight, the Arwings and Magalor aren’t outrunning light beams that take over the galaxy in seconds, dude. The warp star can and has always been able to move that fast
Anyone who calls Sakurai bias towards Kirby as reason for being first playable character for World of Light are just salty over THEIR character not being last survivor.

@@ArcCaravan Grasping at straws, that's the expression that you missed me saying. No matter what Sakurai *says* he's still doing it out of bias, there's no other way, he literally cannot be unbiased in this situation, or anything involving Kirby, since he created the pink puffball, and has a history of it. It's literally a subconscious thing he cannot control, and he has near-unrivaled authority involving Smash. The logic he used was good, but it was clearly a cover up, at least 50% of it was, in the very least, truth.
So less trolling, Sans would be kind of stupid as an actual character and would probably be better as an item or something. Undyne in some form would be waaaay better from a potential thematic stand point.
I think them doing the podcast was probably a mistake. I get that they wanted to focus on their content but maybe spending this much time together (276 podcasts for 3 hours) might have been a bad idea.
