Starting a day from Business hotel near Hakata station. Visiting Fukuoka bay area and Hakata tower (Free Entrance). Local seafoods and all 100 JPY Sushi was really entertaining, Unfortunately Hakata Yatai Street was closed (Due to pandemic?), but really entertaining. Hi, Rion, oh, white T-shirt again in action, so it is aready a summer time at Hakata (Fukuoka). What a wonderful fountain show. This reminded me of one I watched in Barcelona some time ago. Although I am not eating any fish or dea food due to the fact that while being a child I was forced to take a spoon of a fish oil for health every day, it has been even for me such a pleasure to watch you eating it. You were just so cute testing various shells and a mishap shrimp. Anyhow, you made my day after watching your video early this morning and I am already looking forward to the Kyushu serial to be continued. Arigato taimasta, Aruki tudzukemashou ! Gaooooo!

Hi Rion, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Canal City pre-pandemic. From our room we could see the nightly fountain show: very beautiful & entertaining, but LOUD. Thanks for the video, it brought back lots of great memories of Fukuoka.

Beautiful view in this huge aquarium shopping mall, 🗣Rion!piano....piano.....😝🤭! Rion can give your mom a gashapon (pearl items) as a gift for the coming Mother's Day👍! Wow! The sushi 🍣 and BBQ seafood are all fresh, this Turban shell has not been eaten yet! 15:03-15:11 Sometimes I am also 😂. Very nice Hakata Tower no entry fee,nice to see the beautiful building, bay and ships! 20:14-20:17 really nice for Ramen store parking place. Although Rion only walked a few shops in Fukuoka canal shopping, it was attracted, there are JUMP shop, traditional Japanese style umbrella , 21:31-21:40 This part of the fountain shows is so cool, it will be great at night! 24:07-24:11 beautiful view!!!

Dude, the yatai street are well and alive. It's not a daytime thing since they are only allowed to open after 5 or 6 pm. So basically when you saw the yatai parking (there are several around the city), the owners leave it there until evening where they pull to their rented location to setup.

My husband and I loved Fukuoka when we visited. We became penpals with a women displaying artwork at NHK studios in Fukuoka. People were very friendly. We really enjoyed visiting Canal City also. Ramen Stadium was terrific - all kinds of Ramen from around Japan. The yatai street was only in the evenings.

Rion san, the shrimp was always going to be the first thing cooked and ready to take off the grill. They are ready as soon as the colour changes. It does not take long at all, next time watch the colour of the bottom half, turn it as soon as the colour change reaches the skewer. The other half will cook even faster. If you do this the shrimp will be easy to peel and still juicy.

When cooking shrimps, it only take a short time, otherwise it will be like that - the shrimp meat gets attached to the shell or outer covering. Likewise when cooking squid, remove promptly, don't overcooked, otherwise it will be rubbery - hard to chew.

I love eating shrimp and crab but I am not a fan of removing their shells, too * whispers * most specially when I’m really hAngry… I have no more patience 😂 That’s why I really really reaaaaaally appreciate those restaurants where they already remove the shells or I’ll just order a shrimp or crab dish that I know there’s no shells already 😂 Anyway, I really enjoyed today’s episode. Fukuoka is such a beautiful city! My friend is right. She told me that Fukuoka has a totally different vibe from Tokyo but definitely you’re going to fall in love the vibe right away because it’s a good balance of city & provincial life smile. I'm a fan of your videos HOWEVER... imagine if i went to tokyo to make a video and I DIDN'T show shibuya, ebisu, ginza or shinjuku... and i just showed Ikebukuro, its kind of what you did with Fukuoka. If you come to Fukuoka, You NEED to show Tenjin, Daimyo, Momochi and Ohori... Anyways, I hope you do it next time.. take care.

I got drunk and stumbled into the boat racing in 2019. Had to put on a jumper to cover my tattoo, though ( 36°, middle of summer). It was fun to experience, and made my day. The walk back to Tenjin while sobering up was kinda hard, though. I think the food stalls at Nakasu is set up at night.

I’ve stayed at the New Otani in Tokyo in 2007. It was pretty nice, clean, modern, and full of amenities despite being built for the 1960 Tokyo games. I assume this line of hotel is still a 4-5 star. I am not sure if Marriott still partially owns the chain or just manage them.

Hi I think he referred to it earlier as the Fukuoka Port Tower, which has a lattice design similar to Tokyo Tower & Nagoya Tower, while Fukuoka Tower is more like a skyscraper?
