Hi Lauren I do enjoy your workouts. I’ve been lifting heavier weights recently for strength and my question is, will I get the same benefits from the lighter weights (senior shape workout) doing longer reps compared to doing the heavier weights @ 10 reps x 3. Thank you
It's great to do both! I recommend using light weights with higher reps 1x week and heavier weight with lower reps 2x week. Light weights are important for endurance and range of motion. @@joanmorrison4572

Hello Lauren 👋, I have been exercising for years with some of the best instructors such as Gilad, Denise Austin, Donna Richardson and over the last 15 or more years Billy Blanks using Tae Bo. People tell me I look younger than my age and I credit that to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, eating healthy, drinking water and the good instructors. I realized a few days ago it is time for me to switch gears and challenge my body with new exercises. I tried this 40 minute video and it was very nice. You are kind and caring. Your instructions are clear and concise. I like the cognitive challenge and the slower, focused movements for each muscle. Thank you for your creativity. Thank you for your workouts, Lauren. I've been trying all the different workouts since January. Sunday I did the 60 minute one and loved it! My pool has been closed for renos for two and a half months. Using weights has been a great way to use the same muscle groups. . This is one of my favorite workouts! I do it 2-3 times a week using 3 pound weight for the standing part and then switch to 5 pound weights once we are on the floor. Love it and feel so much better after! Thank you!!

Awesome! I only have one 60 minute workout, but I have many that are 45 min. Many viewers will put two 30 minute workouts together or repeat a video for another set. I also recently posted the new 10 min series. If you do all four and repeat the upper and lower body videos with weights it's 60 mins!
I just recently started doing 30 minute workouts (previously it was only 20 minutes), so I'm afraid to "jump" from longer workouts and wanted to test myself with one long workout. I'll try to make a new 50-minute "Anti-Aging..." tonight. I think everything will work out. I really like 10 minute workouts, I add them to 20 minute ones, or do them when I’m short on time. Wow! I have never done a routine like this before. It was great. I always have trouble with the "table top" crunch routines and found your variation much more achievable. I am not perfect but, better! Just "do me" 🙃. I loved the challenge of this routine and the change of pace. It will be one of my new favourites. As always, Thank you!

Lauren, I am fairly new to your Senior Shape Fitness and in my late 60's. I absolutely love this fitness site and find it so fun with all the various routines. I feel stronger and my muscle tone is increasing. I have always put exercise in my daily routine but as I have aged have found that I have limitations and your sight is perfect for this time in my life with a bit of knee and shoulder issues. I am careful and listen to your instructions and have found that my shoulder is much better. I thank you for taking time to produce a Fitness RU-vid channel that is so well done! I look forward to the many options and I have had enjoyed the Barre & dance routines but truly- all the routines I have tried are so helpful and I finish each one feeling better! This was some workout! My arms and legs are shaking. So worth it. As I'm aging, I'm definitely incorporating more strength workouts and a bit less focused on strictly cardio, which I've been doing for years. I need more muscle mass. I really benefited from this. In my case, I did a strenuous workout with heavier weights a few days ago, and didn't feel I recovered enough to do more stregnth training this week, but this was perfect. Gentle, slow moves that felt kind to my body.
