He was a great athlete but as a [true] Christian, we shouldn't be idolizing or worshiping any human regardless of their talents. We shouldn't be creating images of anything in the sky, land, or water because people begin praying for good luck and giving it false worship like some religions give statutes that do not see, hear, or speak. Jesus never asked his apostles or his followers to create an image of him when he was gone to keep their faith up. Those who unfortunately have fallen asleep, are not in heaven looking down smiling, those are lies generated by movies and false teachings that those who do not read and do not understand what they read, will believe because they enjoy having their ears tickled-being given false information that benefits the person giving the lie and the one receiving the misguided relief. *The Bible is the greatest tool for truth* that God gave us to use to teach others in all things. It's our human guidebook to put us on the correct path to get the most out of life and live happily without lies and respecting one another. The Bible teaches us that no one went to heaven before Jesus came to earth… Meditate on that for a moment and read what is written at John 3.13: “Moreover, *no man has ascended into heaven* but the one who descended from heaven, the Son of man.” Meaning, that everyone in the past born and died before the death of Jesus was not sent to heaven. Jesus resurrected the dead back to earth, he didn't send them to heaven otherwise the scriptures would've noted this and we would read it in the Bible. *Who goes to heaven?* Only the ones with the upward call-the chosen ones who will rule as kings alongside Christ over the earth. 🌎 👑 Read Revelation 5.10. I know you did not ask for this explanation but we shouldn't write comments that we do not accurately understand or know to be true from God's wisdom. Spreading such things makes us accountable like the false prophets teaching lies to the innocent. Only one deserves exclusive devotion and it's not Kobe, it's Jehovah God. Even his Son Jesus prayed to his heavenly Father Jehovah and made his name known. Take care and be ready for what is about to come-the Great Tribulation.
@@Fotosynthesis858the Bible teaches us that the dead know nothing at all. (Ecc 9.5) This means that ghosts do not exist. Demons are very clever and can speak as our dead ones and why many believe the dead are still alive in some spirit realm. We must be [careful] with the words we use to not keep spreading lies and have others and children believe such false teachings. These actions will hold us accountable for making the innocent stumble because of our lies.
Kobe said he benched himself. Byron Scott begged Kobe to finish the game so he can possibly can catch wilt or make his own mark in history. Kobe told Bryon I'll have the opportunity again. That's how the 81 game was born.
Kobe was a tremendous player. He could hit 3 pointers with ease, snake the lane, do a fade-away . . . . You name it. The one thing that is a part of who he is - is what he did to a young woman in Colorado. Do you have a sister or a daughter? You have a mom. What he did is beyond bad. So let's be clear: the statue is about him being a great player. It has nothing to do with the character of the man.
It’s upsetting that they leave Kobe Bryant out of the 🐐 conversation. He earned his spot as one of the gods of the sport of basketball. Same team 4 life! That’s special! Rest easy bro. Lakers 8 24. Salute!
@@HappyPyro808 tf is “mayjah”??? And is it with 1 h or 2? Did you just misspell a word that didn’t exist or did you put a spell on me? Wth is a “mayjahh”? This goofball is out here casting spells and what not. If “mayjah” means you rock with what I said then you could’ve just said that or gave the comment a 👍 instead of making up words nobody’s heard before… I’m like does this person have turrets in the comment section…. “Mayjahh…mayjah”… whatever you say lil buddy.
@@MjBjDi This person is trying to be wacky and say "Major" with a black slang "twang", and those of us with any personality can easily understand that. But, back to your point [because on this beautiful video honoring Kobe is not the place to have typical fights and combative banter], Kobe is not mentioned as THE Goat in that particular conversation because he _emulated_ THE Goat. He imitated that person, and ACHEIVED it, but then you can't say that he's _the_ greatest if he's the copy of _the_ greatest. Even though he is a *successful* copy of the greatest. What Kobe did learning from, studying, and mimicking The Goat is nothing short of absolutely incredible! And Kobe does now and has long before gotten his respect! We recognize Kobe as ONE of the greatest, yes, but they place him just beneath those who inspired him for a reason. Kobe is SPECIAL! And he did play with that Kobe energy that was all his own. But when speaking of THE Goat, that comes down to only one (or two in some people's opinion). And that's only because the truest, best basketball minds [those who, in our culture, we call "Ol' Heads"] will always take emotion out of it and be honest! And even that is out of respect. Kobe is UP THERE with the greatest players to ever live. One of the greatests to ever hold a ball or play the game. But even he, in the time just before his death, would admit that he was coming AFTER those who he looked up to! But, don't get us wrong, just because Kobe arrived on the coattails of and _after_ the greatness of The Goat, it doesn't deminish what we know he's done and just where he Arrived TO! It may be a long time before or perhaps we may never, ever see it again with a player that rises to that level, ALL on their own passion, dedication, and mojo AT ALL! So, believe me, Kobe gets his respect & recognition and Kobe is perfectly placed. He HAS Gone Down As One Of The Greatest Of All Time! ✨ And that's harder to attain and more special than you know! You know? It's Beautiful. And the greatest thing about that is he knew it (our view of him) while he was _alive!_ And now look... he's getting his own statue! So... he lives forever. We will celebrate him forever. ✨🥹😊
@@drk.i.a.2969 Actually, it is noteworthy. That alone may not qualify him to be *THe* goat, but that is noteworthy. Because MoST guys DoN'T stay with the same team their whole career. So you can say "a lot of players" do, but we know that among the greats and beneath them, the majority has and will move around. [Many at no fault of their own though.]
What a speech by Coach Phil. Especially the Adam Morrison story. It goes to show that Kobe had respect for all his teammates even bench players. That’s LEADERSHIP!! Mamba Forever. 🏀
Not that hard.. he left her with tons of money, his legacy, and love from an entire city. Given that she wanted to divorce him like 10 years ago, I'd say she's doing just fine.
@edward_lee you clowns think money solves everything, huh? I guarantee you she'd give up all that money just to have her husband and daughter back, in a heartbeat.
My favorite Laker player all time Kobe Bryant😢 us Laker fans miss you and your daughter Gigi🌹 I know both of you are looking down on us🙏 Lakers forever 💜💛☝
mamba forever. as a guy born in the 70s i never thought we could repeat the "magic" that earvin brought to the team. the whole league. the organization is just so lucky to find another spark that set the entire basketball world on fire. i hope our team keeps up his competitive spirit and push themselves beyond what is expected. GO LAKERS!!
You are so missed Kobe. It seems like yesterday when you were a fresh faced kid walking onto the court of the Forum. ❤❤always to you and Gigi. What a great tribute.
I watched Kobe my entire childhood and teenage years. I fully processed my loss of Kobe when his wife gave his HOF speech. Miss this man so much! Congratulations to his legacy and his remaining family members. 8/24 forever
True tragedy Both father and daughter both loved the game He was such a icon in Basketball Everyone knew who he was when those that never watched the game He was 2 young He was only getting started in bigger genres 😢 He was very special BLACK MAMBA 4 EVER RESPECT
It was a awesome tribute to one of the greats well deserved it's sad that kobe isn't here to experience this iconic moment as his statue will be forever immortalized outside of the house he built just wish they could have done this while he was with us
I didn't see his parents there, and know one spoke about his parents where were they at. It's a shame his parents are who ever didn't invite them, are that they are still holding animosity against his wife. They had a great son that chose his life the way he wanted,he was a grown man and move forward. It makes them look bad. That's there son,and grandfather. Was his sister's even there.
Most people don't take death well ..We transform ourselves..it should be the greatest. Experience ever...most people want to stay here forever. .but Sin caused it all
One of the greatest, my son always says he's the Goat.... Kobe Bryant he will always be missed and loved by everyone and his legend lives on. God bless the family always 🌹🕊️
Man I got all choked up seeing the old guys come out and pay tribute to our hero. Seeing Metta, Stormin', Big Game, Pau, Buck, Cap, AC and the guys really reminded me of all the good times we had. I was mesmerized listening to Phil, and could sit and listen to Zen Master tell Kobe stories all night and never get bored. Grabbing a tissue to wipe the tears off my keyboard now. RIP Kobe (Mamba Mentality Forever)
The biggest crime in modern day media history is the constant artificial brain wash of this lebron 24/7 constant wash cycle. How and when did lebron ever pass Kobe in the goat debate? How? Watch Kobe. Study this man. He was special. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant were two of the greatest competitors we have ever seen in our lifetime.
Because it's a fact. I have LeBron #3, Kobe #6, similar to many other media lists. LeBron avg more points, more assists, more rebounds. He is a more efficient scorer from the field, and from 3. He has 3 more NBA MVP's, 2 more Finals MVP's. Kobe has 1 more ASG MVP, made 12 All-Defense teams to 6 for LeBron, has 1 more career buzzer-beaters than LeBron (8 vs 7), and 2 scoring titles to 1 for LeBron. But...that doesn't outrank everything else I mentioned on an *individual* perspective. Now, if you want to discuss *team accomplishments* like championships, that's just one component. Just like from 2004-2016, LeBron was 16-6 head to head vs Kobe led Lakers. But if that was the end-all-be-all, Bill Russell is the undisputed Goat with 11 rings, case closed. But we know that's not the case for a lot of reasons.
The memories, the memories. I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Watching every game with baited breath, cursing the Lakers out when they were losing and screaming and laughing when they won. Thank you Phil, thank you Jeanie, thank you Laker organization, thank you to all the teammates that gave us so much joy. I have to get another box of tissues now. ❤❤ you all. 👏👏👏
I miss him. Hell I'm from Boston, and I never thought I'd love a Laker but it started with Magic for me in the 80's and when Kobe came around I liked him but I never thought he'd reach Jordan status. Jordan was everything but as the years went on they became best friends and Kobe got better and better and I said, he's gonna be the goat. He to me is the goat because he only had 5 but it's his off the court mentality that made him the greatest. Love you Kobe. I pray Vanessa and the kids can enjoy life and move on by embracing all the good he was for the world.
Kobe Kobe Kobe!!! Beautiful Ceremony for the Icon that impacted so many people throughout the world with his dedication to his craft and passion!! Forever missed but Never forgotten!!2/8/24
Thanks to the legendary Phil Jackson for joining the LA Lakers he coached the team and won 5 championships. It's all thanks to his contributions that we get to experience and witness 5 championships while he was a coach. Tonight is Kobe's night RIP.
Yeah this day hit me hard as hell but it’s well deserved, I know doctor Buss is loving every moment, I miss you both and can’t stop not even if the Celtics took one from us and got lucky that year, And I’m going to end this the right way I miss you chick Hearn good bless all of you for all those tears and sweat we poured out. # Go Lakers baby..
Most of what Phil Jackson said were lies. He didn't bench Kobe in that 62 point game. He asked Kobe if he wanted to go back in and Kobe declined. 2 weeks later he had 81.
I wanna thank Vanessa for understanding how important Kobe is and sharing him with us. I tear up every time I think about him not being here. RIP KOBE!!
Amazing job Laker nation! Everything was so beautifullly orchestrated to honor 02-08-24! The speakers were carefully selected and delivered inspiring speeches! The statue is so wonderful! Much love & respect to our fallen amazing unforgetable warrior Kobe, he's beautiful daughter Gigi (who would have killed in high school, college & the WNBA no doubt). And lest we forget the kids & parents that died that day.❤ 🙏😔I'm sure each and everyone of them was special too. Thank you Kobe! We never forget you! Your forever fan Julio Cesar Diaz (47) from Tijuana, Baja California. Still balling on the courts 🏀 respect for, "Mamba out!"
I'm happy for Kobe but this brings me back to that sad day and pain we lost him! Rest up Kobe Bryant one of my favorite athletes of all time who will truly truly be missed ❤️💯
There will NEVER BE ANOTHER KOBE BEAN BRYANT...THE Game of Basketball 🏀 is NOT the same without you! Today it's so hard to watch the game of basketball knowing we will NEVER again see him run up and down the Court... Demolishing his Opponents... Kobe you will FOREVER be IN OUR HEARTS! 💯 ❤️ 💜💛
I’m 45 yrs young. Ive played this sport practically my whole life. Was a fan even longer. I truly feel so lucky/fortunate and not worthy to witness unarguably the best basketball ever in history. From the mid 80’s to the 2000’s was simply the best and most amazing basketball ever. Strategically speaking and team chemistry wise. Fundamentally amazing. Players played their roles. Unselfishly. But efficiently. Extremely driven. Teams were actually coached by a COACH. Players listened. Players were coachable. Trust between the coaches and players were genuinely genuine. Just incredible and intense basketball. Kobe was the last of that breed. Truly missed. These are way past overdue. Kobe deserved this while he was here….. in the flesh….. This is disappointing for a franchise like the Lakers. But I still have to remind myself that the lakers since Mr Buss passed has never been remotely close to what it was when he was the one in charge. Congrats Mamba….❤️🙏🏼✊🏼
God I miss Kobe so much. I cry like a baby watching these amazing memories of his and remembering where I was when he made those winning shots and how grateful I am to be from Los Angeles. RIP our legend Kobe 💐 You’re my hero Vanessa.
I Believe I Can Fly... That is the name of the song.. Micheal is the heart of Basketball, but Kobe is the Spirit.. Cannot name one, without the other.. R.I.P.. KOBE..
Derek Fisher was such an important component to the Lakers Championship Dynasty with Kobe during the Phil Jackson Era. He's a Class Act and A Great Teammate To The Franchise.
Yo when Fisher said " no matter what people try to tell you who the goat is" and everyone in there bleeding purple and gold laughed!! That was for LeBum. He's whole speech was for LeBum and Le Klutch
That was when he first finished the game after scoring 81 points (but denied an MVP by the league) and his very last game (2016) walking out after scoring 60 points against Utah. I think it's his own way of thanking both the fans and the man upstairs as well as the game who made him who he is and was on and off the court. Truly a legend and the 🐐! Thank you, Kobe! RIP Kobe and Gianna Bryant. 🙏🕊️
@raidercujo8636 many of us called it before the ceremony NOT SURPRISED one bit he was a no show to his memorial as well but walking around with a Black Mamba Tattoo SMH what a 🤡
Black Mamba will be on the dictionaries to define hard work. Going to extremes, attention to detail, and greatness through an obsession with your craft. RIP Mamba. We'll never forget you.
