Great stuff as usual.. carnivore really didn't work for me I was missing the electrolytes and I needed at least 20 grams of carbs.. mainly just spinach mushrooms and broccoli or cauliflower.. but other than that I'm strict Keto, good video and good content as usual. 👊😎
Nothing wrong with that, do what works and what you enjoy! 👊 Energy-wise it works best for me when I stick to Keto-ratios and keep my fat at 70-80% of calories. Thanks man!
Angelo, can you keep us up to date with your progress and whether an (almost) all fat/protein diet is helping you put on muscle. Some details with regards to how long you have been doing it, how much more protein over all you are taking in and whether you are putting muscle on or feeling strength gains would be interesting to know. I have been Keto for 2 years (lost 75lbs) and take in around 120grams of protein/day have not lost any noticeable muscle mass, however I do not work out but do not feel like I have lost any strength either. I am curious to know your results (or anything negative you experienced).
Sure! I definitely put on muscle over the past 3-4 months of carnivore eating (2kg of weight, looking bigger but as lean as before) and I'm able to regularly break records in the gym. I'm also making an effort to eat more though (3x/day instead of 2x like before). I do think the extra protein (and calories) help with my lifts and with building muscle. I was getting around 70-100g protein/day before carnivore, and now around 150-200 on most days, eating fatty cuts of mostly (ground) beef, lamb, fish, some pork and eggs. Hope this helps!
I actually haven't measured in a while as I see no need for me personally when I feel energy & mental clarity is high & stable throughout the day. I'll test tomorrow morning and let you know!
I have such bacon envy over here. Our bacon does NOT look like that in the US. And I love your patty press. I am going to try a more carnivorous diet but not 100%. I do love the simplicity of eating that way.
That was actually just some Irish 'back bacon' they were selling for a short time at Lidl. So it doesn't always look like that :) For us it was already worth trying simply to find out if we actually needed veggies to feel our best. Turns out we don't and we rarely miss them. Shopping/storing food/cooking is so easy as well. We do still have some veggies when meeting our families so they don't freak out ;)
I didn't feel like having any that day :) Plants are not essential, there's nothing in veggies you can't get from meat/fish or animal products: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TXlVfwJ6RQU.htmlm25s
Hi. Please can I ask you a quick question, I am thinking of trying Keto for weight loss & increased energy primarily, do I need to 'count calories'. I need to reduce my weight by 50lb. TIA.
Definitely don't count calories yet during the first few weeks when starting out, give your body time to adapt first. You'll probably already lose some weight in the beginning that way. Then you can start optimizing by tracking calories, incorporating strategies like intermittent fasting etc.
