Actually there was no such limit. For example, Street Fighter 2 game was a 40-meg title. What limited the cartridge size was cost. They could make a 64 meg game if they wanted, but the cartridge would be more expensive than they wanted.
I didn't played this myself but I remember my sister spending hours playing it back in the 90s. Incredible game indeed, fluid animations, puzzles and even the soundtrack from the actual movie songs. An underrated jewel. 👏👏👏
Disney know how to use color choices. You will think the genesis is pushing thousands of colors. If pocahontas can be so colorful. The genesis can easily port 32x games like tempo and kolibri with the right developer.

The graphics remind me of some indie games, and it really makes this game nostalgic for me. I've never played it, but the sounds and visuals still remind me of a younger time.
for me it feels like a mix of Out of this World and Secret of Monkey Island, but I assume thats just the time that this game got released that I get these vibes from it xD
Well, in this game some of the other Native American zodiac animals aren't included (beaver and snake, for example), but the bird, fx. can represent Raven, Goose or Woodpecker from the horoscope, I think. By the way, I like both Chinese and Native American horoscopes - according to the former I'm Horse (because I was born in 1990), while according to the latter my sign is Wolf (because I'm Pisces).

Exactly. There's no comparison. My sister played this game back the 90s when it was released and she didn't even know a single word of english, she had to figure out the puzzles just exploring. Many hours playing this game, I think she never got to the end. But today, you can google some walkthrough in the internet and make the hardest games look extremely easy. It's bullshit.
Playing this was one of my first memories. I was around 5 or 6. I remember renting it from the video store uptown and playing it till 5am. It's crazy how good the graphics are too. Super nostalgic.

Pocahontas is one of my favorite Disney princesses and Colors Of The Wind is my all time favorite song. Since John Smith was not wounded, he stayed with Pocahontas.

I can't say for sure but it's not likely in my case as the only Disney film I enjoyed personally was Beauty and the Beast. I rarely watch anything in fact. The game however I found to be massively appealing.@@kellybice360
This game was very refreshing for its times. All games were about war but this one was about peace. Player don't have to kill anybody to win. Puzzles, character switching and spirits were cool and never seen before... by me at least. The only downside is it was too linear and easy. After I completed it two times I was bored to play it ever again. Not a single time. On the other hand Contra: something, Battletoads and one more game name of which I couldn't remember were very challenging and I played them thousands of times without losing any interest.
Beautiful game. I just love the look and gameplay. One of the few Mega Drive games on the 32 Meg maximum limit cartridges. I think there were 18 of these.

Huh, I never had this one. Didn't even know about it till just now. I had Aladdin, Lion King, Toy Story, Castle of Illusion, Pinocchio, Quackshot, and World of Illusion. All of them looked perfect to me back then.

Both the movie & the game were far ahead of its time. I was the very first player in my hood who finished the game, although I was the youngest of them all. Also I was the first one who realized if you collect Meekos red fruit, he will give you passwords (yes, other kids got passwords from me :D) Btw, if you skip meeting some animals (in my case often fish), in the final level you will have all spirits, no matter if you met them or not. Waterfall jump at 17:00 gave me nightmares.
@@shakeyframe2330 well except fish, all others do require you to obtain an ability in order to pass a level. If you dont help little birds, you will die from high jump for example. Or if you don't help wolves, you won't be able to pass on all 4s through caves. So its not like that you need them to beat the game - game requires you to meet them in each level anyway.
im 15 now and i remember this game being my childhood, i just got the biggest nostalgia what the fuck this game is so good but id always have to get my dad to do the sunrise level because this one guy would always shoot me.
