The New Zealand team not only showed massive respect for Doddie before teh kick off, they also had such big smiles on their faces to apreciate the moment. Whatever sport you play, show respect, it means so much.
As a NZer of Scottish descent, I have to say "Sweet as!" Me and the wee man and wee lass will be watching this as soon as we've had our porridge. Thanks.
Sean lineen , Metcalfe , lainey , Sean mainland and more have been some great kiwis who have played for us and of course the strange one , Finlay Christie , a Scot who played for the all blacks ❤
I'm Scottish Maori. My great grandfather was a horse trainer with the Scottish Guard during the Maori wars. He was dishonorably discharged from the Scottish Guard and became a hero to many Maori. He then married my great grandmother and lived with her people till his death. He is buried in the Military Cemetery in Tauranga New Zealand. She came from a people that arrived centuries before the 13th century migration of Maori that people are familiar with today.
wow what an interesting family history. As a kiwi Ive never heard of the people who arrived centuries before the 13th century migration. Unless you mean the Moriori ?
Will watch this on monday, just have Tonga-upset against France 2011 behind me and 2morrow two more to watch in a stream. Thanks Scottish Rugby. More of what's not yet available on RU-vid, please.
A classic "What could have been" game for Scotland. So many chances missed, so many unfortunate errors and robbed of certain victory in the dying moments. Could any other game be more iconic of Scotland's rugby adventures?
Barrett won the World Cup in 2015 while Scotland didn't progress into the Quarter-Final after qualifying (Scotland lost to Japan in the 2019 Rugby World Cup although it was close; a lost is still a lost) the class is so apparent. maybe it's time for Scotland to hire some coach from the Super Rugby.. there is abundant of talent in coaching which will make Scotland be an A tier team (they are still a B rating team in my opinion as they are the poster boys to be bullied by the likes of England/Wales/Ireland)
@@greylynnjr From that response I'm thinking you like myself believe that internal political issues have undermined the team's cohesion, not least the Finn Russell melodrama?
Scotland were brilliant in this game - they’re electric when they play like this. Aaron Smith gets on my nerves, screaming at the ref. Murray and him did it all the way through the Lions series and there’s no place for it in rugby. Refs need to get tougher on it if it isn’t to become endemic.
Yh the Scottish put up a good fight and were quick to go all game. Scrum halves are basically the only player other than the captain that can scream or shout at the ref. It happens far more often than you think even with other players
Referee was correct to NOT give a yellow card. All black player was genuinely surprised and out his arms out and pulled back his head in protection. Good call ref
As an All Black supporter, this was a great game. I really thought history was going to be written on that day. And to this very day, Scotland were robbed at the 2015 RWC. And, I remember 1990, when the Scots toured NZ, they nearly beat the ABs at Eden Park.
Mark V thanks for the support pal. Many people still aren't over the 2015 game, they still need weekly therapy for it. Support means everything in a game like rugby!
When you see the orange splint come out you know its not good. We used those all the time but the athletic trainers/docs only use them when absolutely necessary. Hope he recovered OK. I've been an AllBlacks fan since 2003 but my mother was born in Scotland so I don't know who to root for.
What a game, like a lot of kiwis i have Scottish heritage, so it wouldn't be that bad if we lost lol. One day Scotland, you'll have your day against the All Blacks.
russell at 23:33 is a schoolboy's vision / dream / daydream, come to life, vs NZ, then the ref blows his whistle but it's really yer mum waking u up to go to school on monday morning.
Because in New Zealand the halfbacks don't caress the ball for 30 seconds before picking it up. Once you touch it, it's out and you're fair game. But the law says when it's picked up.
Don't think there are any other fanbases in the world where so much of the support are happy to be plucky losers. Scotland and Italy are the only tier 1 teams who have never beaten New Zealand
Couple of things the commentary team didn't discuss; 1.Seymour's blatant dishonesty when that ball brushed his leg. 2.Gray's call for a scrum (instead of lineout) a decision quite baffling that led directly to McKenzie's try.
the crowd booing all the time just because their team cant match the skill of the abs and dont the NH love dishing out cards - cant go through a game without dishing out their beloved cards
