When it comes to timekeeping and the calendar in Greek, "month" and "moon" are synonymous because the Greeks followed a Lunar calendar which they imposed on their subjects.

How can anyone teach that the 15th day of the month is the first day of the month???? Please keep this in mind when reading the following… Forgeries: the apostle Paul speaks of Forgeries, and we know that the book of Revelation’s says not to add to it, or take away from it, which proves it is possible to do so! Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians 2:2-3 KJV and says, [2] “That ye be not soon shaken in “mind”, or be troubled, neither by “spirit”, nor by “word”, nor by “letter “as” from us”, as that the day of Christ is at hand. [3] Let no man deceive you by “any means”: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” Obviously, some were writing letters, and signing Paul’s name to it, and deceiving the people saying that the day is at hand, and Paul warns about these things, along with the forgeries. I also am going to warn you about what you read, but first let me say this. Many, that believes the new moon is the full moon, starts out with psalms Psalm 81:3 KJV which teaches that they were having a feast to celebrate leaving Egypt on the 15th day of the month at the plump or “full moon”, it says, [3] “Blow up the “trumpet” in the “new moon”, “in the time “appointed”, on our solemn “feast” day.” I can see how they get an understanding that they have because the Hebrew definition for the word “appointed”, is referring to a plump or full moon, but Once we understand the Hebrew definition of the other words in this verse, it clears up. # 1: the Hebrew word for “trumpet” is Rams-horn, NOT the silver trumpet, which is blown on the day of the new moon, not the Rams Horn, see Numbers 10:1-2,10 KJV [1] “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Make thee two trumpets of “silver”; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the “calling of the “assembly”, and for the journeying of the camps….. [10] Also in the day of your gladness, and in your “solemn days”, and in the *beginnings* of your months*, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.” # 2: the Hebrew word for “Feast” is Chag, which is on the FIFTEENTH day of the month/moon, NOT the first day. The new moon is never called a Chag! But the 15th day of the moon is, Leviticus 23:6 says, (KJV) “And on the *fifteenth day* of the same month is the *feast* (Chag) of unleavened bread (and that is what they were celebrating in Psalm 81) unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.” (KJV+) And on the *fifteenth H2568 H6240  day H3117  of the same H2088  month H2320  is the feast H2282  of unleavened bread H4682  unto the LORD: H3068  seven H7651  days H3117  ye must eat H398  unleavened bread. H4682 Notice the Hebrew definition number for Feast, is H2282, which H2282 (Strong) is חָג חַג chag châg khag, khawg A *festival*, or a victim therefor: - (*solemn) *feast* (day), sacrifice, solemnity.” Total KJV occurrences: 62 Keep in mind when reading this, that the word for New Moon can refer to any day of the month, as it does in genesis when the Ark rested on the 17th day of the month, the word “month” (H2320) is the same as the word for New Moon or first day of the month but we know it says the 17th And this is all throughout the scripture, here’s the Hebrew definition, H2320 (Strong) חֹדֶשׁ chôdesh kho'-desh From H2318; the new moon; by implication a month: - month (-ly), new moon.” Total KJV occurrences: 279 # 3. is context; the context in Psalm 81 is referring to the leaving of Egypt on the 15th day of the month/moon, NOT the first day of the month! At the Bible Gateway App, 24 out of the 38 translations of Psalm 81:3 says, “full moon”, for “time appointed”, NOT New Moon! Hear’s the Hebrew definition for “time appointed” H3677 (Strong) כֶּסֶה כֶּסֶא kese' keseh keh'-seh, keh'-seh Apparently from H3680; properly “fulness “or” the “full moon”, that is, “its festival”: - (time) appointed. Total KJV occurrences: 2 Notice this particular Hebrew word is only used two times in scripture, and it is referring to the “plumpness” of the moon, because it does not have to always be an astronomical full moon, and I believe that’s why it says the plumpness of the moon, because no matter how you keep the feast, it will not always be an astronomical full moon, even though most scholars translate it as full moon. It is mentioned ONLY twice in scripture, here in Psalm 81:3 and Proverbs 7:18-20 KJV, speaking of a Harlot telling when the goodman of the house will return home. It says, [18] “Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. [19] For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey: [20] He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day “appointed” (appointed is H3677 keseh. There’s a reason that this word for Plump Moon is used, and that is because it covers the astronomical full moon, and when the moon is not exactly Astronomically full, and the Bible is constant.). The moon can look full for three days, which one is the astronomical full moon? Again, the Hebrew word for New Moon does not always have to be the first day of the month, and it is used for any day of the month, it depends on context! Don’t forget this when reading the Bible, or you cannot rightly divide the word of truth. The Bible says that the Ark rested on the 17th day of the month, and that word month is the same word that is used for the first day of the month, or New Moon! And again, we know that the 17th day of the month, is not the first day of the month! This is all through the scripture, check it for yourself,. I know of only one definitive phase of the moon to count from and that is in numbers 10:10, which says, Numbers 10:10 (KJV) “Also in the day of your gladness, and in your “solemn days”, and in the *beginnings of your months* (plural), ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.” Also, Ezekiel 46:1 says, (KJV) “Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and “in” “the day” “of” “the new moon” it shall be opened.” (“In” the day of the new moon is actually the *beginning* of the new month which happens “in” that day, which is consistent with numbers 10:10, “in the *beginnings* of your months*, all of them!) Again, at biblehub.com. It gives 38 translations of Psalms, 81:3, and 24 out of the 38 says *full moon*, instead of “appointed”. I won’t go through all of them, but here is an example, or you can listen to Brother Matthew at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oT3yPYRmlq8.htmlsi=YR0x9beE1oACFMoF Who gives a great teaching on Psalm 81. “Sound the *ram’s horn* at the New Moon (new month), and when the moon is *full*, on the day of our *festival*; this is a decree for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob. When God went out against Egypt, he established it as a statute for Joseph. I heard an unknown voice say: “I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were set free from the basket.” www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ps.81.3,Ps.81.4,Ps.81.5,Ps.81.6&version=NIV “Blow the *trumpet* at the new moon (month), At the *full moon*, on our *feast*-day. For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob. He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, When he went out over the land of Egypt, Where I heard a language that I knew not. I removed his shoulder from the burden: His hands were freed from the basket. Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; ” www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ps.81.3,Ps.81.4,Ps.81.5,Ps.81.6,Ps.81.7&version=ASV “He established it for a testimony in Joseph When He went throughout the land of Egypt. Start the music! Beat the drum! Play the sweet lyre and the lute! He placed it as a testimony in Y’hosef when he went out against the land of Egypt. I don’t know where I got cut off, but I will start here, Now back to forgeries. “The older sections of 1 Enoch (mainly in the Book of the Watchers/Angels) of the text are estimated to date from about *300-200 BC*, and the latest part (Book of Parables) is probably to *100 BC*. en.m.wikipedia.org › wiki Book of Enoch - Wikipedia You might say, so what? Well, the Bible says that Enoch was the seventh from Adam, which was long before *300-200 BC*, and when Julius Caesar introduced the calendar in 46 BC that the author of Enoch was using! I found out from his writings that he was using the Julius Caesar calendar! Then I got to checking and found this, “The Book of Enoch is considered “inauthentic” and apocalyptic and was mainly written in the Hellenistic period of Judaism, dating from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD. The only version of the Book of Enoch in existence is the Ethiopic translation.Feb 6, 2023” study.com › academy › lesson Book of Enoch | Facts, the Dead Sea Scrolls & the Bible - Study.com Also found, “The main reason for Jewish rejection of the book is that it is inconsistent with teachings of the Torah; the book is even heretical.” en.m.wikipedia.org › wiki Book of Enoch - Wikipedia Also “Paleographic analysis of the Enochic fragments found in the Qumran caves dates the oldest fragments of the Book of the Watchers to *200-150 BCE*. Since this work shows evidence of “multiple stages of composition”, it is probable that this work was already extant in the 3rd century BCE. en.m.wikipedia.org › wiki Book of Enoch - Wikipedia This calendar, proposed by Roman consul Julius Caesar in 46 BC, was a reform of the earlier Roman calendar, a largely lunisolar one.[2] It took effect on 1 January 45 BC, by edict. It was designed with the aid of Greek mathematicians and astronomers such as Sosigenes of Alexandria.[3] The calendar became the predominant calendar in the Roman Empire and subsequently most of the Western world for more than 1,600 years until 1582, when Pope Gregory XIII promulgated a minor modification to reduce the average length of the year from 365.25 days to 365.2425 days and thus corrected the Julian calendar's drift against the solar year. Worldwide adoption of this revised calendar, which became known as the Gregorian calendar, took place over the subsequent centuries, first in Catholic countries and subsequently in Protestant countries of the Western Christian world. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_calendar It goes on to tell how the calendar became political, and that might be the reason that someone added this to the book of Enoch, and it explains how Enoch came up with 364 days in a year, when it is a scientific fact that there’s approximately 365 1/4 days in a year, which any person can prove for themselves by marking a star or some point in the sky, and it will take 365 ¼ days for that exact point to come around to that same position. The bible definition of year is a revolution. Either way, the book of Enoch was either tampered with or written by another Enoch long after the Biblical Enoch, the seventh form Adam, walked with God. And on top of all that, it does not matter who wrote it, or added to it, etc., it is not teaching that the full moon is the new moon, as some suggest. Most of the (…) in parentheses are my comments. At the end of chapter 41 of Enoch we read, 5 “beginning of the world. And I saw the “chambers” of the sun and moon, whence they proceed and whither they “come” again (referring to Conjunction points), and their “glorious return”, and how one is “superior” to the other, and their stately orbit, and how they do not leave their orbit, and they add nothing to their orbit and they take nothing from it, and they keep faith with each other, in accordance with the oath by which they 6 are bound together. And first the sun goes forth and traverses his path according to the commandment 7 of the Lord of Spirits, and mighty is His name for ever and ever. (HalleluYuh) And after that I saw the “hidden” and the “visible path” of the moon, and she accomplishes the course of her path in that place by day and by night-the one holding a position opposite to the other before the Lord of Spirits. And they give thanks and praise and rest not; For unto them is their thanksgiving rest. 8 For the sun changes oft for a blessing or a curse, And the “course of the path” of the moon is “light” (understanding) to the righteous And darkness to the sinners in the name of the Lord, Who made a separation between the light and the darkness, And divided the spirits of men, And strengthened the spirits of the righteous, In the name of His righteousness. 9 For no angel hinders and no power is able to hinder; for He appoints a judge for them all and He judges them all before Him.
