🤔 Sounds like it could either be audio flanging or phasing on top of compression (to initially give it kind of a lo-fi walkie-talkie effect), then mixed with reverb to give the audio presence in the room

Can you do a video covering the differences between Mocha tracking, 3d camera tracking & the motion point tracking & what's the best method for each scenario? I've different methods multiple times for projects & they're all so different, I"m just wondering if one is easier or better at one thing than the others.

I second this. Hitfilm is great but my one criticism is that it often has too many tools and I feel trial and error is a very inefficient way of finding the right tool for the job. Please don't take any away though, just keep teaching us the best ways to do the most important things. I'd love a better explanation of set matte and nesting multiple comps to work procedurally. Also well done Zach, I loved the in-depth walkthrough of more complex techniques, keep up the good work.

Zach figures out a good use for pixel sort! 👍 I was wondering why you duplicated the actor layer for the matte until you pre-comped everything. 😁 I probably would have done my hologram effects "per layer," just to break things up a bit. Anything with scan lines mostly - make em a tad thicker and wider spaced on things in front of the actor, thinner and closer spaced behind them. Adds a bit more pseudo-depth for camera distance. Mostly cut/paste the first chain and adjust.

In using the rotating text around Javert, how would you get it to rotate a full 360 around his body so that his body occludes the text when it's behind him and doesn't occlude when it is in front? I liked the trick with using set matte for the static displays, but that won't work when it's orbiting.

Hey Guys! Can you also make something like ImergeExpress as Free. Imerge is Really Useful but unfortunately I cant afford to buy it. I am Sure there are other creators lime me too who can use Imerge

Does Mocha Hitfilm include the surface tracking ability?

HEY! What about a tutorial on doing a title like the LUCASFILM logo at the beginning of The Bad Batch on Disney+?!? It's a pretty basic looking font but the keyframing of the lights and texturing it looks pretty complex!!! Would be a good subject for a vid :)

4:20 Why do you have to set the matte source layer to duplicate one? Can't you just use the original one?

You need to select the duplicate layer as the matte source because later on we make the hologram graphics into their own composite shot, along with that duplicated layer. The original footage layer is not brought into that new comp, so the graphics wouldn't be cut out as that layer would be missing :)
