you do know Deputy Sloup is on the Brady list __ Brady list, also known as a Potential Impeachable Disclosure, is a list of law enforcement officials who are considered unreliable or suspect because of some offense they have committed. The list is usually compiled by a police department or prosecutor's office and includes the names and details of officers who have had sustained incidents of untruthfulness, criminal convictions, or other issues that question their credibility.

You should always take your traffic violations to court. Best case scenario, the cop doesn't show up and your charges get dropped. If the cop shows up, you tell the judge that you are there to plead guilty and throw yourself on the mercy of the court, and the judge will usually reduce the penalty by either giving you a lower fine or keeping the points off of your license. Worst case scenario, you end up paying the fine that you were always going to have to pay.

Not your usual FWF this time and it was nice to see the other side of things with the Prosecution side of the fence. One thing in particular you addressed was that so many people seem to think they know the law. I've always taught my Concealed Carry Students in the legal side of the class that if you're ever pulled over, the side of the highway is not a court room. If you think the officer is wrong, the place to argue that point is in court. Arguing on the side of the road will only serve to make matters worse both on the street and later when you do get to court. Well done Frank! And a big thanks to all of those who work with you in Pinal County.

@peterknupfer6937

True, the place to argue is court. But don't forget that Frank's job is to get a confession: he tries to get people to admit fault ("any idea why I stopped you?"), with his folksy demeanor and supposedly innocent questions about where one is going, or from, or if one has been drinking or smoking. NOBODY has to answer those questions. If you plan to contest the stop, then detailed conversation will be used against you in court BY FRANK.

People have anger about this issue but don't research as much, they JUST BLAME Judges, District Attorney's, and the court. Then DA's have to keep or dismiss cases. They probably proceed with the more serious cases. Not their fault. I'd love this gentleman's take on this. Looks like his area has more resources. TY Frank and Mr. Volkmer for your expertise. ✔️

Depending on the bureaucracy we either are letting criminals go free time and again...or...we are all "stick" without any functional "carrot" to mitigate recidivism...Other countries do way better, we can most certainly do better as our program proved in the 90s. @@TheTrainWatchOh, yeah I know now, it’s a cost/benefit thing for them. But many of us who have few, if any claims, tickets, accidents or even interaction with our insurance carriers other than paying our premiums would expect them to at least make some effort at going after the scofflaws. To just shrug and pass on the costs to people who play by the rules is pretty aggravating. I think what surprised me was that the guy had his insurance card that showed his policy was valid but we found out his policy had been recently canceled. His insurance card isn’t something official, with a watermark or hologram, just a slip of paper he printed at home. There’s nothing for the cop to run, like a DL to show it’s valid. The cop looks at it…good enough, and sends him in his way. If there are laws about having proof of insurance we need something that can be verified. Not something that can be photoshopped and printed at home. One of life’s lessons I guess.

Great you do follow ups. The only issue I have with some of the video's is when people have no insurance you cite them and then you allow them to drive off. I don't believe people that get stopped speeding no insurance (showing they don't care about the law) should be able to drive off, the car should be towed impounded until the driver and/or R.O. shows proof of insurance. Everybody's rates are increasing because of non insured drivers. If you've ever been hit by someone without insurance you're on the hook for the deductible etc. Great video and FWF is the best videos on RU-vid!

@@SkepticCyclist No issue at all. The job of the police officer is to gather evidence to be used against you in a court of law. The job of the police officer is to deliver to the DA a case which requires the least effort to prosecute, preferably one that contains a written or on camera confession. People think that the police are there to "Protect and Serve" but that’s not the case at all. They should put on the side of the patrol vehicles, "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." That would be accurate. "Protect and Serve" is a marketing slogan.

Love this episode. First of all, I really appreciate that District Attorney, wanting to help those that can be helped but still holding them responsible while giving them tools to have a chance to improve themselves. Then when he said separate the dangerous, well that was the key point where I really liked him. Save who you can, separate and remove the ones you can't. One more reason to love Pinal County. I've planted seeds with my wife about moving there, I'd love to find some position with the Sheriff's office. Oddly, we are currently in the Peoples Republic of Connecticut, and I laughed when he brought up the county the same size as the state here, Loved it.
