See…the analog frogman will keep growing on you the more you wear it. The design is striking in person and the triple dual-core motors that control the hands for each of the gears moves the hands fast. By far a fantastic G-SHOCK watch! Analog watches can bring minimalism to your life In a world full of screen, sometimes less information on your wrist is more. Time may be our most valuable resource and the way we choose to track it holds meaning. When time is this precious, there is no need to receive distracting notifications from the digital world. By having an analog watch on your wrist, you are also far less likely to waste time checking your phone. Thus, keeping your attention where it needs to be, on the task/work in front of you.
I much prefer the GWG-1000, as it's much more rugged, possess a triple sensor, has multiple resistances and looks way cooler. However, this is a fantastic analogue G-Shock, and definitely worth it if the MT-G feels too expensive or blingy. I might have bought one if it had a full metal case, but I think the use of a resin case makes it significantly cheaper and less premium than the GWF-D1000.
Down here in OZ I purchased one of these for $1400 & absolutely love it I wear it everywhere being in northern Australia it’s hot all year so your in the water pretty much all the time & so much easier to read than digital. Only drawback living in OZ we pay top price for everything
Still patiently waiting for Casio to release some more moderately sized G shocks. I pretty much only wear my squares. I like but don't love the Casioak. I love the asymmetry of the frogman, but it'd wear like a dinner plate on me. Cool watch, regardless!
I myself have been a MUDMASTER man all along but saw this on the wrist of another guy in a restaurant yesterday and it looked stunningly beautiful - i think it was the blue strap version.. that sapphire glass on the top makes it a much more aesthetically pleasing..... this is surely on my next-buy list... top of it...
The watch that got me into G Shocks was the Mudmaster, but now I’ve pretty much decided I like digital on G shocks. I love my Squares and my old school rangeman. What I’m waiting for is a new master of G that uses the same type of new digital face that the new Rangeman has, only in a smaller package. I’ve never been too terribly fond of the Frogman, but if I was going to get one it’s be the digital version.
I’m an abc snob as far as my gshock geek. In the days of Apple Watch ultra….having a gshock means you can dig through mud and shit without worry. That said I’m going with a black and orange scheme for the collection. I got the blackout gw9400 rangeman from Japan with the orange accents. And a gwg 1000MH. The Maharishi is all orange for the mudmaster. Now, I want a frogman gwg-a1000xc-1ajf which is black with orange accents. It will complete my master collection. I’m not into the flying but will be determined to find a black and orange match.
Got this for $120. Unbelievable quality. Comfortable. Highly recommend. As for winter and cuffs...its a diver watch so the straps are massive. I wesr mine over my cuffs as you would a diving suit. It stops wind getting in also.
I love Casio, but why is the Frogman so expensive compared to say the Rangeman (pre-GPS) or Gulfmaster? Pretty much the same specs as the digital Frogman.
Great video Rob. The analog version looks great on your wrist. When swimming, snorkeling or diving Analog is the only way to Go! Much easier to read under water. Those that like the digital frogman never swim or dive with them. The light button feature for quickly changing time zones with only one button is awesome when flying to Hawaii to dive with the new frogman.
Your channel is a breath of fresh air, because most of these guys will talk your head off about nothing before they even unbox the watch, I un-subscribed from like 8 watch channels when I found yours.....so annoying. Thank you for keeping it to the point.
I’m with Rob, say what you want about whether or not an analog Frog is sacrilegious, it is clearly more comfortable than the GWF1000. The fit is probably suitable for more people.
This module reminds me a lot of the MT-G module I have. My only beef is that the hand-shift function doesn't work in stopwatch or timer mode, unless someone can teach me something new. The A button is reserved for 'reset' in these functions. It makes the stopwatch and timer functions unreadable much of the time. I prefer the ani-digi modules in the mudmaster where light+b button does hand shift in all modes.
I just sold mine, liked it, but I’m a lefty, so wear on the right and the fit isn’t great. Plus, for the money, it doesn’t feel that special in my opinion.
My main gripe is I wish they had a world time indicator like the mudmaster does. A quick reference time zone marker so you don't have to rely on the app to select them.
@@adamski101 I work in places that don't allow phones or Bluetooth devices. Plus I enjoy not having a device on me at all times to distance myself from the tech
so its just a chronograph with a tide graph? Theres literally nothing about sensors anywhere in the specs or the manual. lol. is that how this one works? I kinda want it!. but I thought they were depth sensor watches?
@Zeus good point but it’s still a G-Shock. You’re getting a watch that can probably deflect a bullet and get run over by a Chevy Silverado and still be fine 😄
Casio charges you 800 USD for this watch?! 😳 For that kind of money it better be full of every function (Thermo, altimeter, barometer, compass, HR sensor, activity tracker,...). Because if not the GBD-H1000 at 399 USD is a much better choice (in my opinion).
its crazy to me what people will pay for G-Shocks and Seikos these days. Guess I'm just an old cheapskate..... And their Gshocks are all starting to look like their protrek line. I wish they would also go back to a dedicated light button below the 6:00.
Great video! Is there a problem if my watch's power reserve unwinds in the middle of a date change, with half of the day showing up in the date window?
@@daveg7894 no , the tide one can be useful to surf, swim, fish.. the diver one is a timer that you use to measure your down time and your surface time.
Casio gets an A+ for creativity in having put all of the same features from the original Frogman into an analog format. But Casio gets an F- for how complicated and user unfriendly those same features are to use in an analog format.
Don't see the point of paying that type of money out for the Frogman dive watch. OK so it monitors your dive time, but not dive depth, and obviosly doesn't have the facility to input breathing gas type. It monitors your surface interval time, but not how much you've off gassed during that time, and therefore due to all of those aforementioned reasons, it can't adjust your dive time for repetetive dives. I love G Shock watches and this watch may do more than a normal divers watch with only a bezel, however it would have at least been nice to have a compass for underwater use. For the cost of this watch, all you are essentially getting is a bottom timer. You could get a decent dive computer for a lot less than this Frogman!!
