AWESOME!! Have fun! I e only been able to find time to get one game in. Rocket and Groot are fun to play, but the first villain did not want to play nice! :)
Well that explains why I didn't get the tech cards for Rocket lol, I thought I could only play one of them at a time and I discarded them when they were done... I am ashamed :P
Love the video. The expansion looks amazing. Some great new Hero cards and some horrible new Encounter cards. The Market looks interesting too. Supply is hit and miss in the UK so I will get mine ASAP.
I've heard the same. So far I've only played 2 games on standard, and I've have to agree. I feel safe in saying the new "standard" is the old "expert". :)
Nice video! Just got done playing against Drang. The difficulty has definitely jumped up and Iove it. Absolutely do recommend customizing the Rocket and Groot decks as they are not the best out of the box.
Thanks! I made a few minor changes for my first play. Swapped out 3 cards of Rockets and 4 of Groots. No point putting in cards that can't be played or limited to 1 per player in my opinion. I did like that the groot and rocket allies are basics and can be removed. :)
Still waiting for my copy but this boxed set looks great. I am loving all the comments about the difficulty on the Facebook group. I really wish they would have included the print and play Ronan they released early in this set...but such is life!
Two plays in and I'm agreeing, this set takes the difficulty up a notch, maybe 2. And yes, this would have been a perfect opportunity to put the print and play Ronan out to everyone, just 7 cards. Anyway, hope all else is well in your part of the world!
Been playing this over the weekend and loving it. I predict that Bug card will become an aggression deck favorite over time. Groot is absolutely ridiculously fun to play.
@Zombie Meerkat Agreed, a 2 cost ally that you can keep around with a hero focused on attacking with be an automatic for any aggression deck. And Groot is fun to play! Just not sure if it's because of the mechanics, or the fact that I get to say, "I am Groot!" a lot. ;)
@Thomas Whaley First one coming up Monday! A couple minor mistakes which I'll put off on being my first play with them (although we all know I make mistakes on cards I've played many times), but nothing major. Hope you enjoy! Do you have your copy yet, and if so, enjoying the new stuff?
@RJL 518 That is the downside to campaigns, I'm stuck with the same team-up, but looking forward after going through the campaign once to finding some other fun team-ups! Hope your copy arrives soon! :)
I love the game, I have everything so far. I might be alone in having zero interest in this expansion and hero's. Maybe it's just guardians of the galaxy fatigue. But I love your vids, definitely the best marvel champions content out there period. I'm hoping they can come out with an X-men expansion.
@limitbreak84 You are not alone in that. I am just all-in on this game. For Marvel I preference are 1. X-Men, 2. Spider-Verse, 3. Avengers. If it wasn't for the movies, I wouldn't know anything about the Guardians. With that said, I did enjoy the movies and my favorite from the movies was Drax, so most excited for him. The villains, really not interested in any except Ronin ... and from what I hear, he is going to be super difficult, even on standard. Thanks for watching, and I will (kind of) patiently wait along with you for the X-Men to arrive in this game, but excited for Venom to come out as a hero after the Guardians cycle. :)
Question about Rocket. Can you play a third restricted card then discard one so it’s back down to two? I thought that Rocket’s upgrades weren’t discarded until he uses his alter ego ability? Apparently the ruling on this is confusing
The core set is needed for certain modular and standard sets for constructing villain encounter set and all hero cards can be used throughout, core and expansions. Galaxy's Most Wanted and Red Skull are just large expansion with 2 heroes each and 5 villains and also includes a campaign to play if desired, but each villain can still be played for stand alone battles. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
Just sleeved it. Very excited to play. I’m getting my second Covid shot today so hopefully I can play it over my weekend. Question. Since Groot is all about his growth counters I was thinking of adding protection cards that prevent damage. Ie side step, energy barrier etc. is the card perseverance good for that type of deck? Since Groot wants to flip a lot I figured adding a tough status card after flipping was good what do you think?
Groot does have another card spreading tough around, but that is an option. Really a lot of good protections cards like the ones you mentioned. I usually sacrifice allies. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer after playing Groot against the brotherhood of Badoon I can safely say the Milano makes the game way too easy. I never went to version 1b of the scheme. I might’ve made some mistakes in my first game but that was my impression. Oh also when playing a regular single scenario do you put the bounty hunter in the encounter deck? I did not bc I read the rule book and the card. It didn’t say anything about that. Only when playing a campaign. I’m still tweaking my Groot protection deck but I had fun. I only took two damage the entire game due to protection cards and the flora and fauna ability. I might play expert mode when going up against dranx
