Great podcast, but I really don't think devs take into account the overall state of the game, especially with Gj changes.

I don't. Now that he doesn't have to worry about Field Control, I like that his ability is different. It means you can both outflank AND use Robb in the same turn.

@@datalink7 the field control part is really nice, I won't deny that. Though the double outflank isn't easy since you're paying 7points 5 for Robb and 2 for Tully to outflank 2 units. That's a lot of points to hold off board. I've considered it for a 50pt list.

Well, it says they "may" attack so technically one could stop the cycle. But otherwise, yes.

Looking forward to seeing the other free folk commanders used. They are good. 👍 I still expect them to be a strong faction without Mance. Happy with changes. Would have liked skin changers to be made better an chosen of styr. Nice under used/valued models. Otherwise good. Boost to Mag list. Is nice.

@@OntheTableGaming Difficult one. When I've played them in this edition the bear rarely seems to get in play. Could be me not doing it right. But we went from seeing 4 bear lists on the table (which you rightly ended) to zero bears on the table which is unfortunate. He's a bit underwhelming with one attack and one wound. Compare that to a boar with 3 attacks and bear riders with 4. It's also a bit inconsistent. Maybe a one off attack when he deploys D3 auto wounds. Grizzly attack. Or something nasty on the charge. The way it deploys does not seem quite right. Not a much impact. You would see a bear coming at you 😂🐻 Maybe have it so you can deploy the wolf or bear off the board the deploy near a wood within short range or something. I'd have to give this some thought. I don't mind the Eagle ability but personally I have not had any great results with the little shifts. Thanks for asking. I appreciate it.

@@OntheTableGaming Thought of a nice ability for Chosen of Styr. Which is one awesome model. 'Giant Kin'. If a giant is in short range of this unit you may reroll any ones on any of your dice rolls one time when Attacking. Defending + Panic or moral tests. Don't wanna show themselves up in front of the giants. Would also make units fit nice in Mag lists. Told Thenn have a special bond with Giants in the books.

Does Jaime's Vassal mean Addam Marbrand gets Counterstrike and Disrupt - or any of Jaime's other attachment options - when he plays on a Jaime list?

No, his card doesn't say he gets his abilities. He counts as Jaime for abilities/effects that reference Jaime's unit.

Mance was only a problem because there are no good alternatives. Just how are you supposed to play units with bad armor and bad morale without trying to mitigate it somehow?

Half our attachments give +2 morale. Skin changes, walrus cheifs. Just not as easy as Mance. Other free folk commanders are really good. I'm looking forward to seeing them used more personally.

I don't dislike these changes overall, but man were Starks mistreated here. They had like 1 good path to go and now it was nerfed without significant enough compensation imo.

Can you hire somebody to actually improve the game? If you've moved onto other projects, that's completely fine and normal. There's no way you can spin these changes as listening to the community that plays this game. The blurbs on the site are insulting to say a commander like Asha was performing as high as Mance. It's quite strange that you don't seem to participate in the community for a year then do a release like this without any explanation that substantially helps the community grow the game.

Everything Starks had that was combative gets nerfed. The compensation they and GJs got was less then exciting. Except Blacktyde chosen. Thanks for emboldening them. I try to see if they are playable now

There's been no community engagement, these changes were developed in a vacuum in a half arsed manner. It's so disappointing that they're squandering such a rich IP.

Well stated sir. Respectful, truthful and obvious that they have no concern for the continued "health and longevity" of the game. I am less amicable.. i would say the debacle continues. Get more knowledgable help with balance mechanics on this great game so it does indeed continue.

Why Chariots gone upto 5? 4 was about right. They die so easily an hemerage points. Be hard pressed to justify running two now. 2x chariots 10 points? Mag 9 points Bear riders even look better at 8 now.

Yeah, I think he's still good. Sure you're stuck with the worst deck in the game but 4 free points is big.

I disagree with Michael about Asha. She was not an overwhelming pick in the North American meta at least - now she’s widely considered one of the worst commanders in the game. Also why murder Victarion attachment? Greyjoy’s outflank should be usable on neutrals and/or reavers should have adaptive because while it’s an improvement, it’s still doesn’t feel like it’s worth a point in most lists.

I hope "worse than neutrals" is hyperbole because that clearly isn't the case, particularly after the FM nerf. But yeah, it would have been nice if they'd gotten some love.

@@jamesw2855Cavalry hard counters reaver captains since they can currently only attach to squishy GJ units or cost 8+ points in IM or SM. Outflank change was much more of a buff to hhrakars and Ranger Vanguard.

Hunters have probably retired spearwives. They are much the same. Now short range an same points. Still useless against armoured targets.
