I definitely think a tiger woman is a term for a child of the forest. You guys described the children's appearance that lead me to see how one could think a child of the forest is a cat person

Hey. I can't remember what channel covered this theory but someone made a video covering how the tiger woman could be a Lengii princess and that the bloodstone emperor married her in efforts to integrate Leng into the empire. Leng itself has a lot of tiger symbolism as well as children of the forest symbolism. And apparently tiger is the opposition to dragon in versions of Yin Yang.

BTW, about the Tiger Woman that was the bride of the Bloodstone Emperor, have you guys ever heard of Rakshasa? They are a demon-like creature from Hindu and Buddhist mythology that are sometimes depicted as cat-like. It would mean an extra parallel between the Bloodstone Emperor and the Night King, who both are considered to have betrayed humanity by marrying a demon. These two tales could have a common source as a single tale of a king/leader marrying a demon woman. Then the telling of the story became altered because in northern Westeros, the "demons" people are familiar with are the Others, while in Asian-inspired Yi Ti, the "demons" the locals are familiar with are rakshasa-like creatures. So both cultures eventually inserted their own interpretation of the demonic woman into the story.

Hi, Order of the Green Hand. I was a big Stannis fan even before I stumbled onto your channel. That's why I love your take on the true King. I had this thought today. When he held Storm's End and was starving alongside his men, the figure we never hear of in that story, Renly, was there as well right?! Now, Renly was very young. Stannis is his older brother. I think Stannis regularly gave up his portion of food to young brother Renly. I think being a dutiful younger brother to Robert goes hand in hand with being a caretaking honorable older brother to Renly. I think if it came down to it, at that time he would have laid his life down to protect Renly. After all he admitted later on that he loved Renly. Now, Renly seems to really despise Stannis, he disrespects him on every turn. He seems to think Stannis a miserable fool because Stannis doesn't partake it the pleasures and comforts of the lordly and princely life. Renly like to have fun and Stannis not so much and so Renly just wants him out of sight out of mind. He forgot what his brother did for him, he doesn't appreciate it. He doesn't remember how bad it really was. His life doesn't have room for pain and suffering. He is an ungrateful little brat. Much love from a loyal subject of king Stannis ♥️

One thing I wonder, how do you think the cult of R'hllor fits in all this? You drew the parallel between the Ghiscari and the Others due to the Others effectively "enslaving" people, but the cult of R'hllor, which is supposed to be the polar opposite of the Others, also has its main temple maintained exclusively by slaves. And sacrificing screaming people to gain access to powerful dark magic is something the cult of R'hllor does, and which seems to fit the Ghiscari equally well. Also, if Azor Ahai and the Bloodstone Emperor are maybe retellings of the same myth, then it would mean that the Bloodstone Emperor is essentially the messianic figure central to their religion. I always thought that the Great Other and R'hllor (Ice and Fire) are not meant to be seen as some kind of good vs. evil duality, that's just how R'hllor's followers see it. The very name of the god actually seems like a subtle hint by GRRM to Lovecraftian gods, who also have names like "Cthulhu" that are just approximations of their real names, because humans aren't able to ever comprehend or pronounce the actual names of these beings. The name "R'hllor" in ASOIAF is explained in a very similar way by Melisandre. So, in short, could the cult of R'hllor actually originate with the Bloodstone Emperor as well, like the more obscure church of Starry Wisdom?

@redbayly

Red hair is also associated with the Egyptian god Set, the god of chaos, destruction, violence, and sandstorms, who murdered his brother Osiris to usurp the throne. Osiris was later resurrected by his sister-wife Isis, but having died he could only rule as lord of the Underworld. Set was later overthrown by Osiris's son, Horus. Set and Horus engaged in both legal battles and military conflicts to determine who would rule Egypt. In some myths, Set rips out one or both of Horus's eyes which triggers an eclipse (as Horus's eyes are sometimes regarded as manifestations of the sun and moon). Oddly, though, earlier Egyptian myths portray Set as a heroic figure who defended the sun god Ra from the serpent Apep (which I've noticed you guys reference in other videos). The portrayal of Set as a god of evil seemed to have emerged due to his also being a patron god of foreigners; and the Egyptians, having faced numerous conquests by Hyksos, Persians, Kushites, and others, grew increasingly xenophobic and subsequently demonized Set for his connection to non-Egyptians. Anyway, that's my myth and history rant for today.

I feel like we were on the same wave length today just spent half the morning relistening to Dany's Astipore chapters and all I kept thinking is the Old Ghis is tied to the Long night somehow, the hair color I just added the note in the book about the Bloodstone Emporer earlier too😄. The wine of courage stood out too, not sure if it's shade of the evening, weirwood paste some other thing, but the Unsullied stood out in the chapter too, they act like wights, but also they have no name = making them no one? It made me question Arya and the Kindly Man's chapter about the first gift and the waif, she lies and Arya is expected to find the lie does that mean that the Kindly Man had a lie? And perhaps there is a part of that story that is not right..... circle upon circles, but I agree with you guys Old Ghis rising during the Long night isn't a good thing. Very interesting tie to the 7 too.
@andrewniehoff8612
@andrewniehoff8612 2 года назад
An interesting theory, but allow me to play devil's advocate and propose alternative theories. The first one actually ties in to your own when you state that The Ghiscari Empire was directly formed by the Bloodstone Emperor and they were connected to the Long Night, but let us suppose a different theory. It states that after the Long Night the Empire of the Dawn was not reformed and all the different peoples went their own way. Now suppose that the Bloodstone Emperor's supporters were one such group and they founded their empire in a land where the people were either less developed, or thrown into chaos by the Long Night. Having established their empire they then continued on the practices of old. My second theory is that they were not directly tied to the Empire of the Dawn at all. From what I know and I admit that I could be wrong, the Long Night hit the Empire of the Dawn. Could the Empire have, inadvertently, shielded the early Ghiscari? If that is the case then they simply weathered the Long Night better than many and took advantage of the fall of the Empire. What do you think?

When you pointed out the seven graces were colored after the colors of the rainbow, I immediately had to think of the many moments the high septon is often associated with rainbows, due to his crystal crown refracting light and spreading rainbows everywhere. Maybe another link between the faith of the seven and the Ghiscari religions. It would be a nice and unexpected twist by GRRM if the rainbow actually would represent something sinister. Rainbows are almost always associated with light and good things in fiction.

Necromancy doesn't only mean controlling dead bodies. Originally, Necromancy was using the spirits of the dead to divine the past, present, and even future, calling on them to manipulate dreams, spy on the living, AND gain secret knowledge from a summoned spirit or sending it off to steal the knowledge of the dead. What the Three Eyed Crow does to Bran such as manipulating dreams, seeking entrance to the dead of their ancient enemy, sending false/true visions to Jojen, ect. is all hallmarks of a Necromancer's MO. Less army of the dead, more manipulation, patience, and secrets. Sound like anyone we know?
@persephone342
@persephone342 9 дней назад
Since they’re being wed to the tress, I don’t necessarily see the white walkers performing Necromancy. The whites aren’t exactly thralls. They didn’t choose to resurrect. The resurrection of Lazarus, for all the mystery and excitement it brought the living, Lazarus was deeply unhappy with being brought back as neither living and r dead, but as a witness to Christ’s power. Only death can save at for life. The cost of bringing Lazarus back, required an equal sacrifice which was Jesus. Jesus could have used some criminal law r horrible person, but what type of sacrifice dice would that be? Killing a guilty man to take Lazarus’s place in Shoel was an unacceptable choice too. Only his life could ult pat for Lazarus. All sacrifices are not created the same.

Also, the Old Gods are so desperate that they will take the blood of all slain, condemned, afraid, full of broken oaths and promises. Also, many with black hair also have dark auburn due to the bleaching of the sun. As for BR, I wonder if it’s him trying to fix Bran’s butterflies before it’s to late. If neither can come back, then they will be looking for another child prodigy to take over the Weirwood Throne, say Rickon. Bran may not have the strength to live within self after all he’s seen; whereas Buba Stark was just living another day in his perspective nap video game where he’s the Warg King, controlling murders of bats, wolves, bears, cats, unicorn RN’s, wyverns, worms, and even dragons. I wonder what the old words were for, “A Wolfe is Not A Slave”I’m sure Rickon will be able to skin walk others and learn about their experience whilst alive. Shudder…

I have an alternate theory for the Ghiscari origin. I'm assuming during the long night there would have been a lot of people like Crastor, who submitted to the others and gave them sacrifices. Old Ghis definitely sounds like a place full of people like Crastor, so maybe they were able to thrive because they were the only ones that weren't targeted by the others.

And last tinfoil of my day the Myrish lens tube is what was above the hidden note which we assume actually came from Little Finger to Cat, as soon as that thing shows up in Winterfell the craziness starts, and then the crow, Master Aemon had one Jon used on the wall, and that chapter where weirwood "Bran" touches Ghost, but I don't think it's Bran because he immediately states in his next chapter he didn't like being in the dark, but that Jon chapter he said he liked the dark, maybe what ever that Fenrir thing was that escaped the Bran chapter after Ghost got touched was actually what touched Ghost. 🤷‍♀️ those tubes show up randomly but it seemed GRRM spent a lot of time on that item in the box only to say there was a fake bottom and a hidden note

I love your theories on the Ghiscari, Andal, Faceless Men etc association with death. After thinking about the whole Feast for Crows thing, I think there is a war between great powers that most humans don't know exist and that humanity is their pawns. But even beyond all of those supernatural inhuman powers there is death - the only one whom truly wins the wars being fought are the crows that feed on the dead. My guess is that it's the weirwood network that spawns the caverns below the world, but who knows? Some people are more into the political side of ASoIaF which is great too, but I really dig the mystical, cosmic horror aspect of the story.

I started going through dance again and I had a pretty mind blowing moment that seems so weird that I never took what was being said as what was actually happening until the other day. So Danny is constantly talking about the sons of the Harpy sending shadows to kill her freedmen and soldiers which makes so much sense why they never catch anyone find anyone hurt that wasnt a target and it's because they are actually sending shadow babies like Melisandre did to kill these people. Then what do the shavepates do they wear mask like shadow binders would but they do it to protect themselves by not allowing anyone to know who they are. Dario tells Danny she is fighting a shadow war trying to stop shadows when she needs to kill those who are casting the shadows Melisandre chapter is right around this point as well which makes me think they are using shadow baby assassin hence why know one can ever find a culprit. Also the Grace's spend 1 year in the pleasure gardens likely they could be stealing people fires and making lots of shadow babies. Being that the green grace has to be the harpy. I also find it interesting that the Yunkish messengers that are trying to talk volantis to join them tell lies about Danny that sounds very similar to Nights Queen she cold as ice and enthralls everyone she takes as a lover and takes there souls between nights queen and mad danell loathston every single thing said of those two get said about Danny to turn people against her

Okay, so i gotta throw in my Tiger Woman two cents here. In Volantis, we learn of the Elephant faction. They are peaceful, and we even hear a tale of love between Vogarro and the Widow of the Waterfront. The Tiger faction however, are known for violence and warmongering. These two opposing factions can be simplified down to Peace and War, or in other words, Love and Duty. A major theme in ASoIaF is that of "Love is the Death of Duty". And vice-versa. When Aegon the Conqueror arrived in Westeros, he had two sister-wives with him. Visenya and Rhaenys. The first he married out of duty, the second out of love. Rhaenys (love) died when shot down by a red dornish bolt, yet from her came the lineage of Targaryen (dragon) rule in Westeros, and Aegon was left with his wife of duty. Moon is wife of Sun, it is known. Most everyone at this point knows the theory of a red comet destroying the second moon and bringing dragons to the world. This mirrors Rhaenys being struck by the scorpion bolt. It also mirrors Nyssa Nyssa being stabbed by Azor Ahai, the Bloodstone Emperor killing the Amethyst Empress... and how love must die for duty. The Bloodstone Emperor/Azor Ahai is our favourite ghostly red-eyed albino whose family of eye-shade titles leaders are Daenarys' forebears along with potentially all Valyrian's. Valyria is a culture we know where a sister and wife were often one and the same. Meaning the Bloodstone Emperor had two sister-wives all along; Love and Duty. Nyssa Nyssa and the Tiger. The Sun and his two Moons. Beyond Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys, we even see this pattern appear elsewhere f9e fuether evidence: Robert - hero, sun. Stannis - ice, duty, tiger. Renly - fire, love, elephant. Rhaegar - hero, sun. Viserys - ice, duty, tiger. Daenarys - fire, love, elephant. Tyrion - hero, sun. Cersei - ice, duty, tiger. Jaime - fire, love, elephant. So yeah, it's the three heads of the dragon, and the Tiger represents duty. This makes Jon Snow a Tiger embodiment, just as Daenarys is an Elephant embodiment. The real question for the end game now, is who is the Sun.

I dont know if anybody said anything yet or if u recently found out but theres a strong correlation between tigers and the isle of Leng just south of Yi Ti which doesnt make it 100% but seems to imply that the bloodstone emperor marrried a woman from Leng which was subjugated by YI Ti like china and Taiwan are (parallels) but also the women there have golden cat eyes and are tall as hell and can see in the dark like tigers(cats in general really) but it seems to imply that the emperor when he took a tiger woman fir his bride was an insult or racists term for meaning he married a non native yi ti woman but a woman from tiger island (leng) which would be just another evil esque looking/sounding aspect of the bloodstone emperor breaking all the rules by even giving the finger to his country and countrymen by going the passport bros route...😂

Also I wanted to point out all the chapters at this point in ASOS, is Astipore, the knight of the laughing tree, Gendell & Gorn & the children in the dark/ Then's and the wall, Davos in Dragonstone dungeon/ Mel about the great other and the light in darkness, and finally Dany freeing the Unsullied.... seems like there is a tie in between all these stories in the story at this point.

the black equals bad thing, imagine you are discussing this with a black person. you would probably word this a little differently. maybe in the future you could imagine you are discussing this with a black person. might be a little less cringe
@J_Mock92
@J_Mock92 Год назад
No one is saying that "black people," as in "people of color" are bad.... George himself has said that he likes "morally gray" characters, so everything said is completely in context, and while I understand where you're coming from from a real-world perspective, it really seems like you're taking things out of context, because nobody is talking about skin color... It's about a character's morals. I'm not trying to make you feel completely invalidated, but have you NEVER thought that a fictional character (particularly in a fantasy with magic) was "dark" before? I'm sorry, but the concept of "morally gray" characters simply cannot exist without black and white (as in, "the world isn't just black and white, but shades of gray as well," which doesn't necessarily imply either side is better or worse) or dark and light (In which I'm fairly certain the majority of people of all ethnicities would immediately associate "darker" characters with being more "evil," or "sinister," or at the very least "misunderstood.") You're obviously entitled to your feelings, but saying the language in this video is "cringe" seems like just a bit of a stretch, when the context was made very clear in the beginning.... If it truly bothers you, then it would probably be more effective if you'd suggest people preface statements about "dark/jet black" characters with the word "morally," or offer an alternative way of phrasing it altogether, instead of just saying "imagine you're talking to a black person in the future and you might be less cringe." I mean I'm sorry, but how is what you said helpful without even suggesting an actual alternative?
@surfthetsunami5596
@surfthetsunami5596 Год назад
@@J_Mock92 that's fair. An alternative could be "good" and "evil" And I'm not saying anyone here is racist. It's imbedded in the language itself. I think it's a valid discussion to have. As far as the word cringe, you're probably right, it made me cringe. A few years ago I took a long grey hound ride and was having a discussion with a gentleman about something, I don't remember what, but I said something like "... So and so's black heart" and dude have me a funny look(he was black) and it hit me. I had never thought about it before. But he had. Racism is baked into our language. I think it's a fair discussion to be had. I'm sure you are correct in that I didn't bring it up in a useful way, and I'm sorry about that. No offense intended towards anyone.
@J_Mock92
@J_Mock92 Год назад
@@surfthetsunami5596 I really just think it's quite silly (and actually somewhat offensive) for you to so freely make such comments, as if it's in any way your place to do so.... I don't know your ethnicity (though from you saying "he was black," it seems like you're not a part of the community in any way), but it kinda just sounds like the rhetoric of a false justice warrior.... I don't know you, but based off your response to my comment, it kinda seems like it's not your place to bring up such things at all (based on a single interaction with a black man), as there are plenty of POC that are ASOIAF fans (including myself to a degree, though I'm roughly half "white"), and I've never personally seen a single one point out that sort of language as particularly harmful.... I could be wrong, but your original comment really came across as the kind of things people say while simultaneously drowning out the actual voices of POC 🤷

But if you are right with yoyr theory why in modern times Valyria was a major slave empire? Ghis corrupted them? I think slavery isn't that big of a part of past and it was added into the Azor Ahai faith in modern times to gather followers amongst slaves.
