Game of Thrones WHAT IF: Robert Baratheon Fights at Tower of Joy 

One thing I think you missed is that it would have changed Robert's and Cersei's relationship. If Robert knew that Lyanna willing went with Rhaegar and she loved him and didn't love Robert and even had a kid with the guy, I think Robert's ideal image of her would have been shattered. In his anger he would probably end up hating her. That would mean he might actually have a good relationship with Cersei, because he wouldn't be hung up on Lyanna and Cersei wouldn't be jealous of that. Which means they might have genuine kids together and have a sort of loving relationship, which means no incest kids, Jon Arryn doesn't die when he did and all of Littler Finger's schemes would be different.

What if Tywin loved Tyrion?

I think even if they were at odds with each other Ned would have still went with him to the tower, it’s his sister. Also I don’t think Robert would have killed Jon, I think he “loved” Lyanna enough to keep the baby or at least give it to Ned.

What if Joanna Lannister had lived?

The night's watch probably loses the battle of castle black without Jon. Also Lyanna would have lied to protect her baby, the same way Ned lied to protect him. Starks are honorable but only to a point. Ned even sacraficed his honor to protect Sansa and Arya. Family trumps honor.

What if Catelyn never freed Jaime?

i highly doubt he would kill jon when lyanna aks him to portect it, he wouldn't love him, but he wouldn't violate Lyanna's last wish

I think that Arthur Dayne might actually try his absolute best to kill Robert, at least moreso than against Ned.

Could you do a scenario where Lyanna lies and says Jon is Robert's? I think that Robert seeing Jon as his could put an interesting scenario in the war of the five kings, especially if he is legitimized.

You covered if Robert defeated the Kingsguard, but what if Arthur Dayne and his men are won? Do you think House Dayne would have raised Jon in secret or do you think they would have turned him over to the Starks?

What if Sir Arthur Dane had killed Ned Stark and because he had heard of Rhaegar's death (I think that's how you spell it) wound up raising Jon Snow?

What if Lyanna had told her family that she went with Rhaegar willingly OR What if Ned had told everyone Jon’s true heritage before he died (like instead of proclaiming that Joffrey was the true king. He says to everyone that Jon is the true king) OR What if Ned had saved Elia and her kids from The Mountain OR What if Jon became a knight and eventually joined the Kingsguard instead of the watch OR What if Sansa told the truth about what happened with Joffrey, Arya and Mycha at the lake OR What if Bran and Rickon had gone to the wall as planned OR What if Jon had found Bran and Rickon while they were hiding in that tower before he left the Wildlings OR What if Brandon had killed Littlefinger

Before my veritable novel of a comment let me just say I enjoy your videos and find your insight refreshing. Thank you for all that you do, as well as for your talent and knowledge. AND NOW: I think the domino effect would be much greater than you illustrated here. At least as it counts in the books. I think Ned's thoughts would alter a lot and be pretty important. Sure, he doesn't have to make the promise, but that might also keep him in the north. That sounds contradictory to what you said for the sake of contradicting, but it isn't. There were reasons for Ned to want to leave. Primarily, here, is his wife pushing him because Jon is his 'bastard'. That's a good reason to not want to be around her, since it seems, at least to me, that he didn't care for her. Sure, they had kids and all that, but kids are duty. And if the king calls on you to be the hand of the king, that's technically a greater duty. His moral dilemma in the books suggests that the struggles really hard with leaving his Northman duties to be the Hand. I think with the lack of Catelyn's jealous nonsense, as well as her political savvy (for what it is), she'd push more to keep him in the North and he'd be more willing to. And then things just go from there, which, honestly, might be a better Westeros prepared for the Others overall.

I think given what honor meant to Ned and how disgusted he was with how the Kings Landing events played out that the relationship between him and Robert was extremely strained. To the point that I would downgrade them from best friends to just allies who respected each other but would never be friends again. It took the death of someone they both loved for them to patch things up over their shared grief. But had Lyanna not died I think Ned wanted no part of anything around Kings Landing. Respectfully of course as is his nature but he’d be apart from it all forever.

It’s not really a what if question but who would in a fist fight or a contest of strength, a white walker like the one jon faced in hardhome or the mountain? Scenario 1: no weapons just hand to hand combat, scenario 2: both have weapons.

How would Robert even know to go to the tower? Ned only knew because Ashara Dayne told him that Lyanna was there. With Ned not really talking to Robert at the time, he wouldn't tell Robert where she was and Ashara certainly wouldn't after Robert was happy with the deaths of Elia and her kids. I still would like a video about what if Torrhen Stark and the North was able to fight Aegon and defeat him, keeping the North independent.

A think you missed is that jon would save Lord Commander Mormant when the wight attacks him in his room in castle black. Because of that the Nightswatch need a new commander and i not really sure who it going to be more likly Allister Thorne. I think is has many more changes to how think beyond the wall and nightswatch overall, with that I´m not sure that Thorne would go to the fist of the first men and seek answers and that could make it so the nightwatch has more men anginst the freefolk. That could be a "What if Lord Commander Mormant was killed by the wight" that you could do.

We get so many amazing fighters of asoiaf/got, none of doing much in the main plot and much irrelevant to subplots, other characters like non-combat like Dany or Jon, doran, cersei, Ned, cat, littlefinger, Sansa, arya, brandon, arianne, Jaime without his hand and tyrion they often seems to have effect the major plots based on their political decisions.

The shepherd tells Doran he was rescued by the ToJ, Doran pieces it together, visits Winterfell at some point, Ned freaks all the way out, then it all gets a bit Jerry Springer

What if Danny played the slow game at king's landing. She had the north..the vale..by family tree the riverlands..the iron Islands. The reach is up for grabs and the storm lands through gendry

I think you’re somewhat right about Robert And Lyanna having some form of closure. She would be honest to Robert about how and Rhaegar. And although Robert would be extremely pissed off and sad would be able to handle it. Lyanna lamenting in some ways not giving Robert a chance. Lyanna begs Robert not to kill Jon he says he won’t. Lyanna dies but Robert doesn’t kill Jon instead he gives the boy to Ned to raise. Robert May be a lot of things but he doesn’t kill children. And he’s not a psychopath like Cersei,Joffrey and Ramsey lmao.

I don't see Ned becoming Hand in this scenario, which likely means the North doesn't become involved in the southern affairs at that time. Moreover, without Ned investigating, you likely wouldn't have Joffrey's true parentage come to light, meaning if Robert still dies more or less the same, there isn't a War of the 5 Kings, and Ned is never killed

i think robert going to the tower of join would have changed him a bit too. He probably wouldnt love lyanna as much or at all when he found out. This could lead to Roberts relationship to cersei being better and then her actually having a child with him which would completely change the storyline in westeros at least.

With more jon snow stuff at the wall, commander mormont will probably be killed by that white walker. Which means the great ranging does not happen at all. That walker might just kill most of not all of the nights watch men the same night, and just destroy the Watch
