The English actors are amazing

Shin Megami Tensei in general tends to be very good about finding quality VAs. Even for titles on hand-held consoles like SMT4 & SMT4: Apocalypse. And if they got someone like freaking *Matt Mercer* (or, really, anyone from Critical Role) as one of their voice actors (and the guy's got amazing range with the voices he can do, just watch him DM in Critical Role) then you know you're in for a treat. Meanwhile Xander Mobus (Joker) also has some impressive range as he's played Master Hand, Crazy Hand, & the Announcer for the Super Smash Bros games. And since Joker is playable in Smash Ultimate, that's at least 4 different roles Xander has just in that one game: Joker, the Announcer, Master Hand, & Crazy Hand.

I think the voice actor absolutely nailed it. He threw absolutely all of his passion into this scene. Especially with the "stop looking at me with that stupid smile on your face" line. His is definitely one of my favorite awakenings.

Not to mention Ryuji’s mask is larger than Joker’s so that’s more of his face that has to come off.

Ryuji is one of the guys Kamoshida fucked up more, and when he tried to fight back the rest of the volley team and the school turn him down for quite some time leaving him alpnd so his frustration has to be inmense against kamoshida after all the shit he got from him

Yep. Just being a successful pirate to begin with makes you worthy of respect & fear. But Captain Kidd is right up there with the likes of Blackbeard himself (though, I personally hate the version of Blackbeard in Fate Grand Order, even if it's "obfuscating stupidity" on his part, I hate the guy's personality & demeanor....to the point that I absolutely refuse to use him at all, the only character I hate more than Blackbeard so far in Grand Order is *Jason* ). You don't get to be a Pirate Captain without being one cunning & deadly S.O.B.

@@gamester512 Well since you brought up FGO, I agree on the Jason side, he's a massive asshole lorewise but as a unit he's cheap, easy to raise, supports a big chunk of the Greek heroes, is one of the few AOE Arts Sabers and can spam his NP AND has the absolute best and most amusing animations in the game. It goes a long way to redeem him a little seeing just how Atalanta and Herakles treat him in his own NP animation. Blackbeard is... That is all.

@@vetreas366 I don't really use the "Greek" heroes very much though (only ones I even bother using right now are Orion/Artemis & Gorgon), so I have zero interest in Jason as a result. My go-to Servants are Jeanne d'Arc (Ruler), Zhuge Liang (Caster), Summer Tamamo (Lancer), Mordred (Saber), Orion/Artemis (Archer), Summer Scathach (Assassin), Ozymandias (Rider), Vlad III (Berserker), Gorgon (Avenger), Meltryllis (Alter Ego), & Katsushika Hokusai (Foreigner).

Well, he is the tank and the damage dealer.

It fits ryuji character and his story with kamoshida, that mofo who turns his life a living hell in school, and when ryuji tried to fight back he screwed his name and reputation so bad everyone in school turn him down, at least 1 year complete with everyone looking down on you while phraising the asshole who put you in that place, imagine the frustration he had at that point

The scream is great and he’s got the most dynamic camera angle. That and the fact that he basically does a fuckin heat dome attack when he rips it off.

Actually, while it DOES look like it, he doesn't have a hook hand on his left side. He just has a clawed hand with long fingers that is yellow...which, now that I think about it, his gold/yellow hands match with Ryuji's yellow gloves.

Sadly, I went to school with twin brothers who had to go through a horrific experience involving suicide as well. One day the two of them got home from school to find that their father had committed suicide by hanging himself, and he'd done so in such a way that his body would be the first thing they saw when they walked in the door. I didn't get along with the two of them, so we were by no means friends, but even I was absolutely horrified when I heard what had happened, but as much as I wanted to say or do *something* I had no idea what I *could* say or do that wouldn't rub salt in the wound.

He was the only one among all these reactors who knew who Captain Kidd was

That's precisely who Gol D. Roger was based on. The whole "One Piece" being some legendary hidden pirate treasure falls right in line with Kidd himself goading would-be future pirates to hunt for his own hidden treasure trove during his own execution. No other pirates are really known for doing something like that, AFAIK.

@@kaikiriya2761 Well yeah, I imagined it was painful to someone a persona for the first time with an evoker, but it looked like they all got used to it after that one time.

I mean in Persona 3 you just have to press the trigger of the evoker, in Persona 5 you have to tear the mask off. So Persona 5's is much more painful, because there is more of a struggle.

Glaz Canon and the P5 cast only had to rip the mask off their faces the first time as well. So...

She tends to not see the problem with male characters being half naked and thirsting after them but sees a problem when female characters are in the same position(beach scenes and so on). It was also seen in persona 5 dancing game but most female youtubers saw a problem there so she is not an isolated case. Overall she is sexist in a very, very, very, small percentage of her being and proved not to be plenty of times when i expected her to be. Overall she is cool. I would switch kinda to a little.
