Garage Door Opener not standard on 24' BMW X1. 

I wish I saw this before I purchased my vehicle. I purchased my 2024 BMW X1 M35i for Christmas and I thought it was fully loaded until I drove it home only to realize it didn’t have those 3 buttons at the bottom of my mirror. I was told that BMW would release an in screen app for the garage opener after I inquired about it when I made it home. Then I was told it would not be released. I was livid. I’ve owned 4 other BMWs (X1 & X3) and all 4 came standard with this feature. Now, in 2024, BMWs don’t come standard with garage openers. This is a total ripoff and it’s disappointing. I just learned today that I can possibly have it retrofitted for about $1K but I would have just purchased a vehicle with a garage opener if I knew it didn’t come standard.

Ha ha first time BMW owner. 2024 X1. No garage door opener. Seems like a serious lapse on BMWs part. Can i just put a clicker in? Yes. But the principle of not having a standard garage door opener is odd. I laugh so i dont get angry.

Hello: Sure wish that I had seen his video before purchasing my 2024 BMW X1. I told the sales guy that I wanted a “fully loaded” X1 & he sold me the X1 with the tech package, NOT the premium package. A mirror with a garage door opener should be standard on BMWs. I was informed by the sales guy that it would cost over $1K to retrofit but he would have to check with BMW N. America to see if it can be done. He informed me on 3/22 that it can’t be done. I don’t believe it. Can you confirm this? Please advise. Thanks
