Your daughter always seems so excited about everything, she looks like the happiest person on earth. And you can't overestimate the importance of those gardening skills.
My grandkids won't help plant, weed etc. But they will help harvest. One of my daughters is buying her grandparents property with 3 acres. Hopefully my grandkids will try to plant a garden of their own at their house. Thank you so much for sharing your kitchen and garden with us.
Love watching your videos and seeing your family enjoy being together and working in the garden. Also love seeing how you are eating from the garden and your recipes and cooking videos. You truly are inspiring to others to live this way and trust the Lord for what he has given us and not the worry of the world that is put before us.God bless you and your family.
When my children helped we would also listen to music, or John Bytheway talks and laugh so much as we worked together. So many great family memories were made out in the garden!!! One of my adult daughters will still come out and weed with mom, she's the only one close enough to do that! Treasured memories
I love to see other mom's raising their kids this way....if you make it fun, they don't necessarily see it as work...it gives them a sense of responsibility and knowing that they helped provide for the family...one of the best character building things to do with them. ❤❤
Can't believe you were hot and having spinach bolt already. It snowed here today and will be below 30 degrees tonight. Can't wait to put my tomatoes and peppers outside finally. I really enjoyed seeing your kids excited about getting their own area to garden in!
Wow, I really love that you allow your kids to have their own garden! It's awesome to see young kids interested and having fun in the garden. What you are teaching them is such a treasure that they will have for years to come. You seem like such a great family. Thanks for sharing :)
I grow up as a child of a family of farmer. This way of living is familiar for me. And also I become a farmer miself. Growing up serounded by nature and plants, working with the earth makes one to become more appreciative of resources and haw to not waste them.
I admire you and your family. Your doing great with those kids, your teaching them so much that they will never learn in todays society. It is truly inspiring and has moved me to do more then i am already doing. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills.. and your life with us 🥰🙏🏼 God bless you.
This video was amazing. Thanks for sharing. Being able to make a meal that is made from so much of it that you all grew yourself must feel incredible. Playing in the creek brings bad memories. Simple, basic things that is so great.
Hi ,I live in UK, just came across ut channel ,I lovr any thing ,grown ,storage ,stock ,baking ,I have watched 4 of ur vids ,to make my mind up ,weather the channel is for me ,and yes yes yes love it ,I liked after the first ,so have now hit follow ,I think ur a great family and wish u the very best for the future ,good luck with all u do ,now I'm off to watch more
The skills your children are learning will last them a lifetime! I’m new to your videos and have enjoyed the couple I’ve watched. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I gardened with my dad as a young girl, age 5, I am still gardening at age 68. Even with raising kids and working at my profession, gardening has been my therapy. Now that I am retired, I can spend my day in the garden. It is a valuable skill and your children are fortunate to have the skills you are teaching them! Bless your family.
Becky, you are such an inspiration!! I just love watching you and the kids working side by side together. Brought back my own memories from when I was young.💜
I picked up two raised beds today and you’ve inspired me to let my two daughters have their own beds! Thanks for the inspiration and as always, love your videos!
I really love this channel it's truly wonderful. There's so much negativity online and it's really nice to have more positive videos with real people like this. My boyfriend and I are planning on homesteading (although we're still in Uni so it will be a while before that's possible unfortunately!); he grew up on a farm so he already understands a lot of this stuff but all of my farming knowledge comes from Enid Blyton so it's so good to be able to learn from you guys. Also, living in a food dessert where lettuce costs $8 and we can only eat tinned tomatoes because the fresh ones are $8-15 a kilo, it's fun to live vicariously through people like you who are able to be in nature and eat real vegetables!
Cruise/Cruze/Cruz/Crews??? is so tall now his head is nearly off the screen everytime without zooming out. You guys are the best..I loved the scenery too, can do with more of those. And some drone shots ^^ xD
Great Family and Family Homestead. I really loved the video and the idea of the kids Gardens as well. Great for the kids memories and life. God bless you and your Family. Good parenting life. Best regards from Germany 😊😊😊😊
I tell you what your little girl is a Dinamo. I love watching her. She is so very strong. That personally is such a joy to watch. Becky you are a great Mom.❤
Love your videos! I'm becoming a homesteader too as I dont want to rely on grocery stores anymore. Your videos are very informative & motivating so thank you!
What a treat to find this unexpected video. It’s ironic that you linked Lisa from Farmhouse on Boone…I love her videos as well. Although I’m decades past having kids at home, the intentional parenting practices you and Cam choose for your family are truly inspiring. Watching the kids in the video made me smile! They’re all growing like weeds. Thanks for yet again making my day.
My kids love to help garden, it is much easier as they are getting older now, when we first moved off grid the three smallest were 2, 3 and 3! But now we're in year 4 it is definitely much easier to involve them :D
I love this so much!! Another great video! I really can't get enough. We have grown loofahs before and they were SO much fun! And just a few plants gave us a ton for personal use and for gifts. I give each of my girls their own garden, too, just on a much smaller scale. But I love seeing your kids work out there and work together. It's a beautiful mom moment! :) Definitely gives the kids ownership and a great sense of fulfillment. Thanks for sharing!
I Love this! We did something similar where we live out. This video actually gave us inspiration and hope that we can still become successful, thanks so much for this video.
I was literally just wishing for a video from you! It's so exciting to see the kids making their own gardens ❤️ I CANNOT WAIT for your garden tour. I will be adding this video to my own personal playlist of videos from your channel. Excuse me for now...as I have to go back and watch again 😂❤️
My kids have always made their own gardens. It's wonderful to see how much they enjoy and learn from it. You are at the next level of gardening that I'd like to be at in the next year or two. I'm so glad I stumbled on your channel!
Your videos literally ALWAYS make me cry. I want this so bad. My husband and I are working so hard to be able to live this in the next year or so. Honestly, it feels like forever, but I know we will get there. You have such a beautiful family. Can’t wait for the next video! I’ve watched each and every one of your videos. ❤️
I feel the same way, Yaya! Sometimes their videos being me to tears too. My husband and I are hoping to live like this someday as well. It's a big dream but we can do it!!
Great advantage for your kids a very useful skill to know how to grow food I’m 48 born and raised in a city and now I’m trying to learn at this age from my in-laws
I would love to see a video on the tools you use to make large scale home gardening faster. I've noticed a few things, you use in your videos, that I would love to be able to find.
Ok so my daughter is now asking to make her own garden when we create a food forest in our very bare backyard lol. I love that she is just addicted to your videos as I am😁😁😁. I am one very happy Mum right now. Thank you from 2 of your Australian fans🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🐨🐨🐨🐨. Ps let me know if Noel would like to have an Australian pen pal as Zaria ( my daughter ), would love to write to her.
I love this idea! I’m new to gardening, my kids have helped me in our small family garden. I really like the idea of the kids having their own space to take ownership for. We live in the hot desert of AZ so I think I’m going to do this for the fall. They can grow their own pumpkins 🤪 thank you for the video
Your garden looks FANTASTIC! So awesome for the kids get their own garden and with the rewards even more appealing to them. Great idea!! I love it. Looking forward to see the result of the fruits of their labor. Hope to see more families gardening and teach their children how to grow food. Green thumbs or not we should try also it's good for the kids to be outdoors instead of indoors with their electronics. You both are great parents! ❤ The lunch you prepared looks delish!.. Thanks for sharing!
I let my boys choose some things for the family to grow. This year peanuts are on the list! Tall order for growing in Canada 🇨🇦 but home grown peanut butter sounded good!
I love your videos. Your garden is so big and beautiful. We added a new patch this year too. I love to see you cook. It is inspiring to change up my own totally homemade and from scratch kitchen.
Such a great video!!! I might need to find a friend or two to collaborate with how our kids help us out!!! We have started our garden process and the kids are always out there with me! I do love the idea of them having their own garden but for now our garden is a family garden which means all hands on deck! 😆😁
It’s so shame - can’t put pictures on RU-vid comments. My oldest are also first time doing his own garden. He already have seeded cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, beats and spring onions and few flowers. He took all our old garden and started pretty big one. And still help us on our tasks. Love kids on garden. My youngest two year old - he is “taster” every single edible thing he tries out - loves our tomatoes, specially market ones 😂 and raw potatoes 🥔 😂 It’s luxury nowadays to grow up learning about gardening and how food grows and do it yourself us young.
I'd love to see your kids garden!!! Do you have IG? It's so great for kids to see other kids gardening! My kids help me out tremendously... I'd love to show them other kids who are doing the same!
i love your videos, u are an amazing family, its good to see u, i wanna ask u if u can share some about homeschooling please, how do u do with all the activities u have? thank u God bless u and greetings from Chile
I have a question for you, Becky: how do you keep the house clean, at least the kitchen area (it always looks clean in your videos) . Also, since gardening is a dirty job, how do keep all the dirt out of the house? We have a fraction of your garden and I’m tired of all the dirt that gets everywhere
We’ve just started our homestead farm this year and I’m dying to know: how do you have time to do everything? My kids are a bit younger but still go to public school. I’d love to be able to homeschool and do more from scratch cooking but just can’t imagine how I can fit everything in. We already feel so busy just with all the basic farm and family chores😳
A bought a block maker last year. Could you please share your recipe for the medium to make it stick together enough for when I push the blocks out, they don’t fall apart.?
So excited about this video because this shift has been a huge challenge for our children. They only want to work on *their* personal gardens and have meltdowns over helping the family with the work. Makes me resentful cooking... *sigh*. “This is boring, I hate this, I don’t care, I’ll just eat rice. This is stupid, it’s too hard!” I’m ashamed that my kids have such rotten attitudes and I’m exhausted.
Love your BYU shirt! It’s always exciting to see the BYU Logo. 😂 I’m from Provo. We just bought a house on some acreage. I hope I can teach my kids the way you are teaching yours. What state do you live in, if you don’t mind me asking?
Wonderful!! So happy you are able to get some land for your family. We live in Arkansas. I grew up in Rexburg(Cam), and Becky grew up in upstate New York. :)
This is a tough one. Perhaps try just 5 minutes a day. Once those plants start sprouting, the excitement level should increase, at least in our experience.... Good luck!!
Me encantan sus videos! Pero no se inglés!! Los veo y me encantaria poder ver subtítulos en español. (Solo me aparecen en ingles) Mucho amor para la familia!!
Didn't find ours until recently. There's a large edible mushroom growing facility near us, and they turn all their extra dirt into super good compost. It's a 1.5hr drive to go get it, but worth it for how much it adds to the garden. Before this, we used mulch compost from our county wastewater/composting facility. If you live in an area with lots of trees, this may be a good option for you.
