Especially because buying a certain edition of the Game also came with a map you could hang on your Wall and on that Map, on the borders of it you could see different sea creatures, a kraken for example.

@XLazyboy93X if I remember correctly from the Essi Daven short story, I think Geralt just expressed a fear of the sea. Unlike land, there's so much out there that men have no knowledge of and can't prepare for and Witchers pride themselves on being prepared.

Didn't finish all books, but at one point he has some business with a mermaid and an influential town person. He encounters basically atlantis people. Humanoid fish creatures with architecture near the surface on the coast. They are stronger and faster than average and he has a lot of trouble just getting away from a bunch of them attacking with sword like things. @@missing507

There is Gevorg the White Whale. I think there's a certain location where you can see a white whale instead of a normal black whale. However, the only thing I can find out about it is that it exists and can be seen in-game.

Thing is. In the Witcher there are sea serpents, or in folklore even on the physical map you get in the disc case. Wonder if in the next game they will have harpoon hunting for such creatures, obviously they'd be smaller but you get the idea

I have mild thalassophobia, i remember swimming and sailing every part of skellige to look for loot (not worth it btw), and finding an edge to the world. Theres a part of the game where the land has a steep drop to pitch black pit, and i could see whales swimming in the distance. That alone was enough for me to nope out of there

@@KilluminatiPlusUltra i mean if you give me a biome that is dark and then slap two red eyes that gets more intense the longer you stay in it. Thats more terrifying than the leviathan. Had that experience with a mod in minecraft called the dimensional doors, there are consequences for falling into the void while being in the dimensions

I have bad Thalassophobia, but my brain really want to watch it well, obviously nothing make you screen shake this way in the Witcher 3, and this leviathan is obviously from Subnautica. Welp, would have still shivered if I didn't scaled down the video to a 4th of my screen. Also, the absence of underwater ambiance sound helps

@@Lupo-Exulans worse yet, I played Subnautica Crusing the surface using the upper cyclop cam to look at the sky and closing my eyes and muting the game to dive in thhe darkness really is an experience haha The cyclop also has this feature, a medium range radar that allow oneself to see the far away walls as red mesh. It really helps. There's also a base room that gives a hologram of the neibhour ocean floor/caverns

@@Lupo-Exulans it still terrifies me so i use the interactive map website very often to make sure i go to the blood kelp zone AND NOT THE DUNES i have also gone to the place with the most reaper leviathans (stealthily) and gotten the prawn suit now tommorow I'm going to the blood kelp zone again to get aero gel for the prawn suit

This is so cool. In fact, in the book Sword of Destiny, Geralt himself said that there are monsters of the sea no witcher could ever fight due to their size and power. So this is more lore friendly

Damn but the reason why I hate playing around Skellege is because it's all mountain and Ocean and it's frustrating looking around where the path is or when your boat breaks in the middle of the ocean so you gotta swim your way to shore bruhhhhh it takes about 10 or 15 mins to get to shore
