Battery vs Gas: Commercial Mower True Cost Comparison 

This is very helpful, thank you! One common objection I have seen in these type of comparisons is the maintenance figure used. I don't think most folks know what all goes into that as employees or are commenting as lower end owner/operator users and I see comments like 'there is no way I am spending $1,800 a year on maintenance'. Breaking down what all goes into (for example, "Annual maintenance costs computed based on average run time of 700 annual hours and annual costs of X belts, X quarts engine oil, X oil filters, X quarts hydraulic fluid, X hydraulic filters, X blades, X engine air filters, etc.... divided by 12") that might help show what it includes. All that being said, if someone's only argument is the math is off because of this one figure, it isn't likely someone who is going to be onboard with electric anyway, but if you CAN eliminate an objection, you might as well.

The one more thing not sure why you didnt consider: is the battery replacements cost, batteries dont last forever, they need to be replacement once their number of charges runs out. So how that was gonna affect the whole calculation! :-/

None of my questions ever get answered: what's the battery chemistry? Are the batteries liquid cooled? Does the BMS allow you to keep the charge between 10/90%? Will the BMS prevent cold charging? Where is the battery located? Which leads to, how low is the center of gravity? What is the total machine weight compared to the gas version? Are these removable batteries or permanent battery pack?

For places that have incentives to go green, this could make sense. Early adopters will influence others ultimately. Battery is better for some things and gas is better for other things. Great video!

What happens when year 2 the battery has lost around 20% of its charge capacity. Does that affect anything? I guess not really. Just means you need to charge more often.

A year after video you only have 2.8 thousand views. A video of a gas powered anything a year later has hundreds of thousands of views. You do the math

Battery commercial mowers will not save you any money in long term ownership, they’ll actually cost you a LOT more. The initial cost is high then after 6 or 7 years you will probably need to buy all new batteries which will cost thousands. While you think you save after a year or two by not buying gas all those savings are gone when your batteries go. And none of these companies has a battery warranty past 5 years.

Rip off initial price point (leveraging and stretching operating cost benefits) but the next generation of mower power.
