Very useful information. Just a reminder If you would like to use the sink with the dishwasher discharge hose disconnected from the garbage disposal, remember to seal the hose connect temporarily. Otherwise the cabinet will be flooded.
Thanks! The steps for the new wiring harness were helpful. I would also mention that there are extra clamps in the new kit and the metal wire cover from the old pump doesn’t fit on the new pump… overall, the video saved me a bunch of time.
Also, when putting the new pump back on, there is a tab on the side of the pump that fits into a plastic slot on to help position the pump… You can’t really see it when taking out the old pump…
This was the exact problem my GE dishwasher had. The pump even had black dust coming from it. Got a new part from Amazon and it's up and running again. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this informative video. I was wondering if you had taken the old pump apart and find out the root cause for failure and also how many years did your old pump last?
I did pull the old pump out and found small chunks of glass. It lasted a few weeks and then stopped again. That's when I replaced it. I can't remember how old the pump was but at least 5 years. The new one is still going strong since posting this video.
