Unbelievably, Gene comes over as a genuine, decent - dare I say - humble (!) guy! The more interviews I see of Gene, the more impressed I get!!

Good interview. I saw Gene with KISS in the late 1970s when I was a teenager and was fascinated that he could blow a stream of Fire in the air, and I thought to myself how cool it would be to have him at a cookout and have him light the barbecue.

When he said "Now get out" at the end was stellar.

I was depressed, I can tell you no one helped me get out of it. It was like "so-and-so's all down on things, I'm going to give him a wide berth from now on" There's no understanding of it. I pulled myself out of it in the end. Idle hands are the devil's tools

Thanks, spent my days as a teen and 20's rockin my way to work with Kiss jamming on the car stereo. Though I am a classical guitarist and pianist, I still love rock, and as a musician can appreciate great talent and skills of each individual in the band, Kiss.

I’m 58 I was at cobo hall 1976 second leg of kiss tour KISSALIVE ...it was so cool ..and tiger stadium years later Sweetwater is as Great. there service second to none I sent a guitar back 3 times and I wanted it so bad... they paid for a fret level How’s that for service thanks Sweetwater ...and phone help on equip.omg priceless...Sweetwater workers work there ass off Love you guys

I'm not a big Kiss fan but man Gene Simmons really seems like a genuine humble guy. I'm happy for all the success he's had in life and the joy he get's from other peoples excitement. Really great stuff - if only I could have afforded that vault! lol

Hey, Gene busted his butt with his blue collar work ethic to get were he is today.

I loved how Mitch completely switched gears with "there you go, there you go" at 14:30 to keep Gene from ruining a nice commercial interview with all of his female and sex related stories & comments. Mitch's face was classic there.

Gene's one of the funniest guys when he starts telling one-off stories.

Great interview. However, three things were inaccurate. The term disease as opposed to condition. When it deals with the psychy it's a condition, e.g., depression. When Mr. Simmons mentioned the origin of the song Yesterday. And Mama Cass does not belong to the 27 Year Club. She died when she was 32.

Gene's Yesterday story is totally wrong. The first version never used Yesterday. It started out, Scrambled eggs my baby has some crazy legs. John had no input and no other beatle was on the recorded version or input. George Martin did arrange it for strings and quartet.. It was never a children's song but Gene was using it as a point so OK. These days Gene is very open to meeting his fans and make himself accessible. Probably helps that a lot of his fans are older and not so fanatic with the Beatlemania mania. I met him in a hotel lobby recently. I was star struck. I was coming to see him the next night at a show and never in a million years thought I'd share a room with him. We're both cheap[ and took the discount. It was alright but that single bed was small. Just kidding about the room. But he was very patient and we had small talk before he and his manager disappeared into the elevator. Went to the show and it was great. He brought people on stage. Before and after the show he stood at the stage door outside for photos. It was roped off It was great to see him plus my hotel experience.

Live and let live, Love Kiss or hate 'em.. I'm sure Simmons worked his ass off to get where he is…I just wish a Kamikaze interviewer would ask, out of the blue, "How many Firestone tires are melted to make your hair?"

If you delete the results that don't fit your pattern you get a meaningless trend. Bon Scott, Elvis Presley, Cozy Powell, Marc Bolan, Lemmy, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell, Fast Eddie Clarke, Cliff Burton - I could go on and on - none of them died at 27.
