And We’re Back!
George Lopez returns to his old neighbourhood (which happens to be where the TYSO studios are) to reminisce about houses burning down, growing up and the neighborhood prejudice.
The two sit down to unpack George’s origin story and how his childhood struggles shaped him and why he wants to work on his personal issues of quitting too soon and cool kid gangs.
The veteran comic gives us a nugget of wisdom: " Never let the audience be better dressed than you," which Rick disagrees with, having tried a three-piece suit on stage to no avail. And Rick questions whether or not George would have had as much success in his career without his perfect hairline? The comedians marvel over the fact that George’s kidney transplant got him a guest starring in Curb Your Enthusiasm!
George wonders how long he’ll continue his podcast "OMG! With George Lopez" and why brand sponsorships are his new pursuit (just like Shaq)…cut to BEER COMMERCIAL / georgelopezbrewingco !
Oh and a little reminder is you want exclusive episodes, live Q&A zooms and unseen clips from past guests go to / takeyourshoesoffand of course without our sponsors we wouldn’t have near as many animations so please support the following brands which supports us :)

I thank George for being part of my guiding light in life! There is a reason 99% of people are not famous, or don't make it to a certain stature! This episode truly highlights when and why that doesn't happen. For me, I can't imagine a better theme song to wake up to in the middle of the night and to know their inception of the show is so fragile. The George Lopez show meant a lot to me as a young adult and helped form my opinions on a lot of issues. There are plenty of shows that do the same in a long line of broadcasting history, but this one helped form my social parameters.

Just finished the Pod, I think you're very misunderstood by people who try so hard to be normal and in so many instances of following your career I've seen people in the industry try so hard to avoid the funny like when you were on Bobbys show recently. I've even been saying Bobby is being lazy and censoring himself from Tigerbelly to badfriends but when they go with it, I find it always works. It makes me appreciate your talent and the hard work you put into everything. Thats why George appreciates you and sees the funny which made this serious in depth convo about the industry entertaining and funny at the same time.

Podcasts are such an interesting thing that I’m very thankful for. There’s so many famous or at least fairly well-known people who are guests on podcasts I’ve listened to that I knew almost nothing about prior to listening to the podcast. Sometimes I may have even formed a negative opinion about the person that wasn’t really based on anything substantial. These long form talks with good hosts really help you get a pretty good idea of who a person is and I like how they’ve helped me gain newfound respect for many of these folks. Like George Lopez.

Interesting. I never found him to be funny, but he seemed to be a good dude. This makes it seem like he could be lieing which could taint that a bit. Maybe it's just that he never thought of himself as funny, but others perceived him differently so he never realized it before trying stand up. I'm gonna go with the second one.

This might be weird to say, even insulting. But Rick is reading this. I don't think I'd be a plan of Rick's stand-up. But I'm a big fan of watching these videos, The authenticity, deep conversation, silliness, And that's okay, I think. We're all a bunch of stuff that we can give.
