No matter where this ends in Eurovision - I'm just happy "we" finally send a band whose good in there music genre. Also the song is really catchy and Lord of the Lost are such nice guys with really big hearts.

I think Chris was a little nervous despite being seasoned performers with Iron Maiden and thie own gigs. This meant a lot to them to represent Germany at Eurovision. Maybe i'm biased as a german and i haven't seen/heard all songs this year but there is NO WAY this is the least good song. His voice just flashed me and the changes in speed and intensity during the song are awesome. It feels like a puzzle that fits together and i wouldn't be surprised if they are a big number worldwide in a few years.

This song might not show it off to its best, but Chris has a beautiful deep voice.

Thank you so much, after Voyager I knew you would love this 😊 Lord of the Lost are an established band from Hamburg and have been playing as a band since 2009. I discovered them in 2013/2014 and absolutely adore them. They are somwehere between metal/dark rock/gothic/glam/wave and pop. They have a huge variety in their style and every album is different. The song is from their latest album "Blood and Glitter" which was inspired by a photobook with the same title by photographer Mick Rock, who took nearly every famous picture of David Bowie and Freddy Mercury for example back in the 70's. They have a lot of expirience on stage and even got to support Iron Maiden on their tour last year and were asked to do so again this summer 😊 They are such nice and kind people, living the message they try to convey as a band (equality, diversity, tollerance, compassion). The song itself is about embracing life to the fullest as well as the often very contradicting aspects of ourselves and just be who we want to be. That we all share the same very essence (blood) but are still unique in our own wishes and what we portray to the world (glitter). They did an accustic version of this song and their song "One last song" for "Eurovision... a little bit more" and I think you would very much enjoy those songs. I think this is very easily accessible for non-metal people because of how catchy the melody is, but i feel the growling might be a bit too much for the casual ESC viewer, but hey, doesn't matter, its fun! These guys are also amazing representatives for their country, making covers of other countries songs, involving people and keeping us entertained. Well done Germany.

Great video & analysis. 👍 Germany is my #1, its in my top 5 ESC entries ever. Australia's my #2. Yes, I love metal. Lol France is my #3 atm. There are sime great entries this year & a lot more variety than usual, which can only be fantastic for the competition. I've seen some people who love pop & ballads complain about the amount of bands this year. Normally they have almost every song in their preferred genres whilst we have 1 or 2. The 1 year we get a lot more variety, they complain & say it's too much. Lol Variety is great because it keeps the competition interesting & appeals to more people.

Thanx for your very interesting reaction and your thoughts. Lord of the Lost: Dark rock meets goth meets glam metal meets synths including a perfect mixture of clean and harsh vocals down to growls. They are a rabbit hole with so many different styles and moods. They recently supported Iron Maiden across Europe and will do so this year again. So they they definitely know how to play a huge stage. They are great musicians and released beside their regular albums three acoustic „Swan Songs“ longplayer with a classic ensemble. Their newest album „Blood and Glitter“ was surprisingly released end of last year with only one week of preselling and hit #1 of the German album charts. Their second performance at the preliminary show after winning had better audio and Chris was more interacting. The huge stage in Liverpool will gibe them much more opportunities to deliver the live power they have. You need to check out their other stuff I think Chris really shines on albums such as swan songs, thst symphonic/accousic style. But everything by them is great.

Since I can't vote for my own country, LOTL, Sudden Lights, and Voyager are my top three, in no particular order.

We got last... In the last few years the low positions were justified imo as we really dent out shit songs, but this year we didn't deserve last. There were a bunch of worse songs imo (e.g. Czechia, Albania, UK).

I'm so disappointed by how this one went, the problem they had is that there are a limited number of hard rock fans who watch Eurovision and whenever there's more than one in the same year you always see the better ones near the of the table and the less good one near the bottom (this year it was Croatia and Australia who split the rock vote, leaving Germany at the bottom), we saw the same happen with Maneskin and Lordi winning and when MaNGA came second to Lena with Satellite

As a metal fan I love seing more metal in Eurovision.

First time I heard the song I though it started with "Blood and glitter, Sweeden's better" and was really hoping that was the lyrics as that would be hilarious.

I'm watching this after the fact cos I loved Eurovision this year and love seeing your reactions and commentary, especially as I know all the songs so well at this point, but this one didn't age well 😂 Obvs with Germany coming in last place. I guess this is an acquired taste, but I think the calibre of songs was so great this year and maybe this was too out there or too niche. And his vocals weren't made for this song perhaps. in the ESC history germany allways had one of the strongest contents in each contest and got bashed down. the ESC allways been political. WW2 ended 1945. the ESC audience is still punishing us for that. in my opinion germany should cut it´s high financial support to the ESC and leave the contest. shall they find another country to vote down in future.

The whole 'shit-show' was a set-up, because ABBA celebrates its 50th anniversary next year, the next 'shit-show' simply HAS to take place in Sweden, no matter how good other contributions were. As the person responsible from Germany, I would put the complete financing on ice in any case. The votes for Sweden's victory came in the first place finally from the individual TV stations contrary to the audience. Total shifting! Unfortunately, that problem can only be solved biologically, because some old farts are sticking to keep power.
