This is a beautiful human being, with the love of God and people in his soul. God bless you Gerry for the great music. I'm 57 and grew up in tose times. Its so nice to hear him tell the strories. It was an innocent time.
Gerry is the real thing....just as cordialy and funny as he is on TV interviews...met him at a L.A. Beatlefest...patiently posed for pix with hundreds (not kidding) of fans till the last one met him ....if you ever get a opp to meet him...he'll make you feel like you're an old pal (mate)...Cheers Gerry....^/^
About 8 years ago I was visiting a friend in Liverpool and he had the local radio on and Gerry Marsden came on and sang a standard - something like The Shadow Of Your Smile or a similar jazz ballad. I was surprised and impressed as to how good he sounded as prior to that I always associated him with a likable rock but less sophisticated style of playing.
First time seeing this video my family came the village in Italy that Gerry was talking about St Gerard and grew up in Newark NJ during the 50s the national shrine of this saint was St Lucy's on Oct 16 we celebrate his day the society of St Gerard still have his feast at 65 once a year from about 116 yes our Little Italy comes alive again I wish I could contact Gerry send him a gift from the shrine any suggestions out there would be helpful stay well in 2015 everyone God Bless!
It's Holly Johnson who was the lead singer of a group called Frankie goes to Hollywood when they had three UK no.1's in the '80s. I expect two of these hits were Relax and Two Tribes.
