Depart Alma on October 20th at 10:00am for an all-day, ROUND-TRIP steam excursion through the Shiawassee countryside for a VIP visit to Owosso. Passengers will enjoy a journey back in time while riding in one of our vintage coaches or restored cabooses!
Once arriving at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, passengers can tour the entire grounds from the visitor center to the backshop, ride the 7 ½” gauge railroad, and even observe the 1225 being turned on the turntable as well as maintained for the return trip in the afternoon. Downtown Owosso merchants will be rolling out the red carpet to welcome guests from the train who will be given a value book worth over $75 in downtown savings. Passengers will be invited to take a tour and see what this unique town has to offer; from exploring the local businesses and restaurants, to visiting James Oliver Curwood’s famous castle! Information on activities and highlighted destinations will be provided aboard the train southbound to Owosso. The return trip is scheduled to arrive back in Alma at approximately 6:00pm.
