What a great episode - I love how patient Iskall is with everyone in teaching them how to vault - it's a complex mod pack if you're only used to vanilla.

I just started playing and it took me like 4 hours till I figured out how to do quests. I had already done a vault and was very concerned when I didn't have regen.

Iskall is such a good teacher. I've never played Vault Hunters as I have no PC, but I really feel like I have a handle on the basics because of his series, and now this.

so make sure you make a drawer controler. some of the other hermits can help you understand it. but basically, it connects all your drawers together. and if you right click on it, everything in your inventory that can go in a drawer will. which means you're gonna want the drawer key that locks drawers. it will do two things. 1) random stuff won't go in random drawers. and 2) when you empty a drawer, it'll save that spot for that item in the future.

The first hermit I ever watched was Iskall because one of his season 7 videos went viral. I forgot how much I missed him interacting with other hermits. Thank you for the episode Impulse, I know it's hard what with all the stuff you have committed to, thank you for putting this one out.

Impulse, it makes a big g difference to being able to see items if you turn down your enchantment glint, since basically everything in vault hunters is enchanted.

He has to use black runes on the year to get rid of it. Not worth it early game because if how often you’re swapping gear. You’d just waste the runes.

Would that work well? I feel like the randomness of the necessary items can make it very hard to progress.

@@paulelderson934 It mostly works the same way it would in a regular world but instead of running around the Overworld to gather the items you have special crystals that give you different vaults where you gather the items. It CAN be incredibly frustrating, especially when you're not able to find one or two items that you need but once you find them you're set. SkyVaults is my favorite way to play, though I dislike having to build land to build things on. There is someone(the same guy who is the one that really helped get SkyVaults started actually) who found a way to make Superflat work(it's a small process)! He made a custom setting that spawns in some things but you can also just "cheat in" the special crystal and a few of the Rocks(the SkyVault gives you four from the start) and it's basically SkyVaults but you don't have to build all the land for building!

The next thhing you want is a drawer controller! with that you can just double click and everything in your inventory that can go into the drawers will automatically get sorted into their place

Ask Iskall about the “+” part for the drawers. I believe it’s just adding an additional block on the crafting grid. When it comes to changing the color it’s all in the positioning on the grid; in previous versions, there have been three faces that you can change.

this was great! with the pouches, unless you've bound B to something else- without your inventory opened, B will open the pouch that is on your back! when you're in your normal minecraft inventory with pouches in there, hovering over any pouch and hitting B will open that pouch!

One great feature of the storage drawers is the drawer controller, a must have if I do say so myself. It basically connects all of the drawrers into one system and if you right click on it, it will automatically deposit all of the items that can be put into connected drawers into them. However, it does have a range, i believe 8 or 16 on each side. You also want to use the drawer key to lock drawers. You can still put items in and take them ut, it's just that when you auto deposit the items, it won't fill all of the empty slots with junk that'll just act as clutter.

Hey impulse glad to see you back playing this, fyi to make your life easier i would recommend getting a drawer controller for your draws as well as the keys. The keys will keep the items in the chest similar to the pouches iskall gave you and the drawer controller allows you to dump your inventory into the available connecting drawers.

So happy to see you running with Iskall! I know you are the busiest man on RU-vid but if you have time watch a couple of his videos. You are going to love the whole storage system and computer stuff. He is insanely efficient which makes it super fun to watch for anyone. I have only ever watched modded stuff, never played. It usually gets clunky but never with him! Vault Hunters is a different breed entirely!

When you combine the drawer in the crafting table with your target decorative block, you can also include in a "trim color" block, which should highlight that cross member you wanted. Some experimenting required

this was so great! I think most people who play vault hunters will have learned something from this! i didn't know the pouches could do pickup only whats in the backpack. i've been triyng to fill every slot with what i think i'll need... now i can just stick one of each, memory those slots, and i'm good!

If you want to fly far with elytras and low level dash, when you're pointing at +/-45° you don't lose any momentum. So you can go back and forth between pointing up 45° then down 45° until your dash reloads and then you can gain momentum and go as high or as far as you want.

A drawer controller can make unloading your stuff a lot faster as you can right click that twice and it'll take everything it can.

One heads up, in JEI (the search tool to the right) there are a few special characters you can use to filter searches. If you hit the wrench, itll either list them or have something like "advanced options" that you can click that will list them, but its nice for searching within a single mod or for info that is not in the title of the item.

Quick tip. Invest in a draw controller. It's expensive but so worth it. Love seeing you get into modded! Just remember, if something is a grind, then there is most likely a modded way to do it. ❤❤

Now that you have drawers unlocked you wanna have a look at 2 items: a Storage drawer controler and a storage drawer key. Those 2 items can make your life significantly easier. So happy you have more time for this series now. I love secret life but I am also really looking forward to your vault hunters content.

I believe if you put another block in the crafting grid with the framed drawer it can colour the 'grid' on the front that shows the individual drawers. At least that's what I gather from Stress' Episode 5 around 19 minutes

Sugar glass does not, not hurt when it breaks. When I was in highschool I had a scene in musical where the gal I was singing to throws a bottle at me and on one show she hit me in the head with the bottle and that shit hurt. I was bleeding from my head a bit for the rest of the show.

Storage Drawers will help you stay organized for the remainder of the HermitCraft Vault Hunters Server. As an example: I always use this mod for storage when I play Pixelmon. Dividing my storage up into sections such as Food, Ore, Wood, and in this case Pixelmon related items (evolution stones, berries, etc…). Would love to play Vault Hunters… the pack always seems to give me some form of trouble though… crashing, doesn’t want to launch, or my latest issue it refuses to install.
