THIS IS A GAME-CHANGER! - Hermitcraft Vault Hunters #04 

Hi impulse! There is an item called a “rune” which you can combine with a dye in a crafting table, which you can then combine with a piece of enchanted gear in an anvil to change the colour of the glint! You can make it yellow if you want, but if you want to get rid of it using a black rune makes it barely visible so you can make your gear look better that way.

1. I personally use a Thermo Generator as a power generator for my storage system. You can put a faucet on top of it, and lava or something underneath, and it will generate some power without you needing to do anything 2. If you shift right-click with a 4k storage disk in your hand, A yellow thing will come out. If you have three of these (which will normally give you 12k of storage) you can use them to craft a 16k storage disk

In case someone hasn't mentioned this, you can change the elevators, or at least you could last time I played vh, just get a yellow wool block and right click the elevator.

To be able to see the contents of the disks I recommend setting the external storage connected to the drawer controller to only work without a redstone signal and put a switch next to it. Then when you flip the switch the external storage won’t be working and therefore not show any of the drawer contents in your RS system. Also, you can use the wood chunks from the vault as fuel in the furnator, so basically endless fuel.

One thing you need to be aware of, the storage drives and the external storage connectors have a place where you can set a priority. The priority is used to decide where to put the items first. You want your drawers to be the first place it attempts to put items, otherwise all the items will go into the disks even though you have room in the drawers and you'll use up your disk capacity far faster. Furthermore you should consider placing any items you have more than a few hundred of in drawers as they are better in general for bulk storage, while the disks are better for the misc bits-and-bobs, at least early game. For items you have a lot of it's nice to dedicate a full 1x1 drawer to them, while items you have less of the 2x2 drawers are good for. To view the contents of a given disk you can create a Portable Grid which is an item you carry with you that allows you to add and remove items from a disk. Later on you may wish to consolidate your disks if you add external storage and wish to move items out of disks, this can be done manually but there's also a block called the Disk Manipulator which you can use to basically re-add all items from a disk that can be added back into the network, so taking out all disks and running them each one at a time through the manipulator and then adding each disk back into storage afterwards before running the next disk, will consolidate the storage.

Dont forget to set your Priorities in the Refined storage, so when you dump your items they go the the proper locations... it sucks when you dump say, unique ores into your storage, and it does NOT go into your drawers - for instance!!! A good way to figure out what you can move to a drawer is by switching your external storage to input only. That will display only what you have on your disk. You can then grab the items with the most and put them in drawers.

The solar panels are a great way to power your system, backed up by a good battery as you probably noticed. But, if I recall correctly, the solar panels do have an internal buffer so they can act as a battery themselves to some extent. I know Iskall has gotten lucky a couple times with his mod boxes, and has several high end solar panels that he runs his system off of. But, as some people have mentioned in other comments, the thermo generators are really easy to use and provide constant power.

If you want, you can go ahead and make the transmogrification table right now. You don’t have to wait until the quest comes up to make it.

As your crystals start getting more expensive, I recommend getting a mod like mekanism, create or even ispawners (goes well with your name!) to help in making farms for the crystals. Most vanilla farms are futile compared to the QoL of modded farms

Wooden chunks are a plentiful yet surprisingly efficient fuel source you can use for your furnator when your storage system starts using up more energy.

Make sure you set priority in the external storage to a high number so that when you put items into your computer it goes to the drawer if possible

Increase priority to the drawer system so items go there first, and just toggle Redstone mode to see the drives only

When you set up your elevators you should hide it in the dot of you i (yes they can be dyed)

A bamboo farm is a great source of fuel and u can change the texture of elevators by right click on it with a prefer block

Wood chips from the vault are a good source of fuel. Only thing they're used for is decoration blocks, and you get a ton of them. Facades meanwhile can hide cables in the walls Can also rightclick a block onto an elevator to change it's appearance.

Impulse! Impulse! Impulse! Impulse! I have a big request. I recently watched Tango’s and X’s fair well server tours. They were amazing save for one thing. I was heartbroken and disappointed not to see even a mention of TFC. This is the last season he played and I know he didn’t get to do very much in this incredible HC season but my Christmas wish is that maybe the server can come together before the world download and work as group to make a memorial for TFC with each hermit putting their own stamp on the build. I know it’s a big ask but he was the truest hermit by definition and I believe he deserves to be honored. ❤

Proud of you, Impulse!! Look at that slick new crafting and search grid database!! I thought you did well in the vaults. You actually had to fight the mobs whereas some hermits gear was good enough they didn’t have to or their weapon did 1 or 2 shots. Plus your speed isn’t upgraded yet whereas the speedsters have speed 4 & dash and/or the wings trinket. You’ll get this good stuff too and soon I bet you’ll actually start enjoying the Scavs. It really helps break up the vault objectives though I could run Elixirs all day long. And I can’t wait for you to reach the transmog quest. It can get pricey if you’re changing your gear for aesthetic reasons all the time but it’s worth is up to the player. I for one am enamoured with bunny ears Etho and will be sad when he retires that helmet. 😂

I really like the pace at which you are taking this series. I feel like some of the more experienced players are blazing though things as fast as possible and its really hard to follow for someone who hasn't played the game before.

If you can get a Thermal Generator, you place it on top of a Lava source, and pump Water into it for power, you can use the sink from CookingForBlockheads as an infinite water source, and use pipes or Modular Routers to fill the water.

For mob items you might want to look into cagerimum mod its pretry powerful for drops, also im glad you seem to be enjoying vh hopefully a sky vault hunters series could be tried with a certain skizzleman.

To add to the people who have pointed it out, You kept checking your scav bag for items. The bottom right of the screen shows items recently picked up

I am playing along with you as my first modded experience, so this was great to learn how to put everything together for the computer storage!

You spoke about the shine and wanting to see more of the yellow, i think if you use the quark mod (im not sertain its this specific mod, so check with iskall) you can use a black glyph to remove the shine, or some other glyph to change the color of the shine, i know iskall have som turquoise tools, and i think he had orange armor in his last playthrough

You can use the wooden chips from wooden chests as fuel its superrrrr common and a about as good as coal

right click elevator with a block can change its appearance as the block, just like other frame-ish items

A lot of the unnecessary decorative items can be used as fuel, like wood from the vaults, especially if you're going for fyrnace

Put your furnator by your energy cell and use that to help fill up

If you hadn’t, you can set a higher priority on the drawers interface so stuff tries to go there first before it uses the disk space

Aloha impulse. Just a suggestion. If you put the glow stone back in the floor and put the elevator on top you can “disguise” the elevator with a carpet and it should turn into the carpet’s hit box so you can keep your “i”

Yeah, refined storage definitely changes the game! It's one of those mods that are absolutely key to modded Minecraft

Love the video. I would recommend that you said the external storage of the drawers to a higher priority, so that the items which can go in the drawers, really go in the drawers. You could also craft a key so that you can see the amount of items in the drawers.

You should be able to use the wooden planks that you get as junk in the furnator as a fuel source.

If you don't want to deal with fuel look at the thermo generators from Powah, all you do is set them above lava , add water into the generator and pull out the power also if you haven't yet remember to set the priority of the external storage to something higher than the disk drive so items return to the drawers properly instead of filling your disks

I believe you can put a carpet on top of the elevator and still have it work

So you know, you can change the appearance of elevator blocks to match another block by right clicking the block you want it to look like on the elevator block.

i hope after these 100 days he keeps playing vault hunters, its so fun watching impulse figure thigs out and find his playstyle

If power is still an issue hopper bonsai pots with the furnator can and will help a lot.

Make a thermo generator, use blazing crystal block as the heat and use a supplementaries faucet to give it water. It's so much better than a solar panel.

I really wish he would do an episode where he completely focuses on the quest book, even if the quest is ALL he does

You might want to use a thermo generator as power source. I’m not sure if it works with an unlimited water source and a faucet, otherwise you can use a sink and a faucet and lava or magma underneath the generator.

For power you could use a better solar panel instead of the Tier I you currently have (if you can afford it) then it should be faster and store more energy throughout the day, so it shouldn’t run out at night.

would after this vault hunters playtrough do one with tango. I think he would enjoy it and it would be fun to watch

14:48 Yeah, not sure what Iskall did to the various mods but I do know he had them incorporating Vault Gens to make the recipes more difficult to obtain… granted you can’t progress in anything without progressing in Vaults. Maybe one day I’ll be able to try out Vault Hunters. As of right now CurseForge isn’t working at all for me.

I'd go with colossal chests if you can it's easier then more drives but can be laggy I think just set priority right highest draws then chest then the discs.
