Hey Nat, times are tough for us all. I understand your feelings about relationships. Last August, my fiance of 3 years passed away after her body rejected a lung transplant. Finding the motivation to push on isn't easy. If I didn't have my cat, I probably wouldn't be still here right now. I hope this little bit can give you some relief. I'm already a pareon of yours but it seems you need a bit more help. I despise panhandlers, but you're a creator I very much enjoy. I dont want to come off as cheesy but if you need someone to vent to so you can blow off some steam, I'd be happy to give you my email or something. Please don't lose your motivation or let your dreams falter.

Hey man, big gesture. Not to diminish, but youtube gets 30% of that. I support another channel, usually if you donate trough other means (merchandise, or even single donation on patreon) their cut is a lot smaller. Kinda suck that we want to help our creators and youtube gets such a big chunk. If only it was like 10%.... Anyway, you're a king...or Queen...or Attack helicopter.

@FD87

The problem with censorship is that social media and online platform are in a weird pickle of both being responsible and not responsible for the users interaction. On one hand, they want to be like a telephone company where people can call up other people and it would be silly to censor your words when trying to talk to another person. On the other hand, other people want them to be a publication, making them legally responsible for stuff being hosted on their site that the government deemed to be "dangerous".

Following PNut's example, I want to do what I can to help. I came to view your content after the whole Noralities thing, and was just happy to have some solidarity against all the hate. You give me hope of a better and more positive future, and so I want to help you do the same. I completely understand your pain of loneliness. I remember coming back from Afghanistan to nobody. I remember that my wife had left me during the deployment because it was the deployment that broke the camels back. Everyone had their significant others for the welcome home party, meanwhile, I just had my bags and my responsibilities... I remember doing my best to bury my pain in my work, but there comes a point where it just got too hard to even move. of course, I had to... there isn't much choice when the government owns your body, and you do not have the legal rights to your own body's labor anymore. If you need someone to talk to, even about serious subjects that you can't talk to your drinking buddies with, hit me up. I'll be a good ear to listen, if nothing else.

I’ve been in this situation way too many times. I left my parents house/country because it was just too bad there, so most of my growing years all the way to my mid 20’s I was practically alone. I had friends & relationships but like you had mentioned, I’m not the type to hook up with someone just because I can’t be alone, my brain just can’t compute that, it feels like I’d be living a lie and hurting someone who had nothing to do with my choices. Whenever I was in this position where I felt that I was in between a hard place and a hot place, I’d seek to fix all my own problems no matter what, if I had to end up sleeping outside, which I did a couple of times, I would think so be it. But after growing up a bit more I’d come to realize that I should have asked someone for help, anyone tbh. I think, if I’m not completely off the mark, that your a but like me in a sense that you don’t see a reason why anyone would care about your situation but the truth is, most likely someone does. I reconnected with my mother afterwards and became a lot closer to my family. It takes effort to connect, especially when you feel that you don’t have the energy, which for me is all the time. It also reminded me of friend of mine that “un-alived” himself, we were very close at a point, he was a bit annoying because he had too much energy but he was a great anyway. Life happened and we kind of went our separate ways, then I heard the news about what happened and the truth about his life slowly came out, he was extremely depressed(ex soldier) and thought no one cared about him to bring his problems to. It out a pit in my gut knowing that if only I’d reached out maybe he’d still be with us, I think constantly, even though we weren’t close anymore I would have dropped everything to help him if I knew how bad it was. I hate the thought that he thought he didn’t have anywhere to go more than anything.

I’m sorry to hear about your hardships. I hope you heal from the virus soon and get your health back. Unlike your situation, I have not been in a relationship for over a decade. Raising my daughter. She’s now going to be 18 and I feel like it’s my time to start looking again. Be patient with yourself. If you’re not ready, you’re not ready. There is no race. On a different note, I LOVE your voice. I could listen to you read from the dictionary. I love your accent and your snark and attitude. Though I hear your pain right now, I can still hear that funky personality everyone loves. If I may ask, you said you’re in a country where you don’t speak the language and thus have to work online. I’m not going to ask you to out yourself about what country, but if more than one country speaks the language, can you share what language they speak? I wish you the best. Keep being your awesome self and know you have a great community here to support you.

I myself have pretty much always been alone (after having to move out after high school), I Can't recall anyone ever bringing me meds before or care for me while being sick etc. I assume it probably just a matter of getting used to it. But I know how sudden changes in life can really throw you off and linger for a long time. So I really hope you can feel better about yourself and find some happiness again. You clearly have people that care, and I'd say that's a blessing in itself. And it's just nice hearing your voice again ^^. As for your rant. True, I recently got timed out by RU-vid for using the word "S-p-o-o-k-y" during an October horror stream. Cause apparently that's a slur now as well. The world is loosing it 🙄
@NatalieXHunter
@NatalieXHunter 10 месяцев назад
I saw the whole thing on X about the word spooky. It's ridiculous. If you're not using a word as a slur then it's not a slur. Given almost nobody even knew who it was a slur against, given it's apparently not been in common use since the bloody 1930s, absolutely nobody saying it was doing so with any thoughts of degrading anybody else in their minds. If anything, making people aware that it used to be a slur is probably just going to make people start using it as one!

The online censorship really hit a note with me about 8 years ago when YT began covering up Syria & Libyan coverage, and also for some reason WW2 docs. I realized then how dangerous things were going to become as they are scripting narratives. The irony is the simple word censoring is coming from the ones happy to throw those adjectives around as you described. Hang in there, I enjoy your anime takes.

I hope this comment reaches you. I’m not sure if anyone’s else recommend this, but tracking your calories and going for walks may help. Tacking caloric intake is a good way to make sure that you have enough fuel for the day. Without knowing anything about your lifestyle, 2000 calories is a good minimum for a woman. Try to aim for a balance around 40% carbs 30% fat, 30% protein. Carbs can be great boon for clarity in thought, fats can be passive buff to maintaining energy throughout the day. If you need to force the food down try to eat smaller meals throughout the day. This should help with everything coming out of Covid. A 30 min walk a day can also help get the blood pumping and creative juices flowing. In case your sleep is also slightly off, try cutting off caffeine and alcohol 6 hours before bed.

After quitting a job i hated for 2 years, it took 3 years to find something i actually have fun doing. Its a dumb job with zero responsibility, but i never thought i could have fun working again. I was jobless for so long living off of my savings before i ran out. The stress made me sick and i couldn’t sleep properly a lot of times when my savings dried up. Fortunately for me i have my family and friends. One of the things i learned during all of this is that if you don’t take care of your Health first, you won’t be able to do anything. You can’t think straight, your body starts feeling weaker and weaker. Since you are more on your own than i was, the problem gets amplified. However any which way you can, prioritize your health first. Then you can worry about everything else. You can’t solve any problems when you’re dead. I really like your content, I just hope this helps in anyway. Please take care of yourself.

Long covid sucks and you're being an absolute champ powering through it as well as you have. For story readings, have you considerred a separate channel? A dedicated channel for uploading those kinds of videos would prevent your main from taking hits by the algo, but you can still reference them here and benefit from them. I imagine most of the traffic to those videos comes from references in your main channel anyway, so its not like it would suffer from "starting over". Patiently awaiting your full recovery (in health, spirit, and finance) 🙏🙌

Your Noralities videos were actually what made me find your channel and subscribe! It’s been a good 2 years since RU-vid had any of your vids in my recommended tab (I am subbed, but I never use the subscription tab as I have 5000+ channels there 😅), but I was recommended a random video of your today and checked out your channel! This video seemed important, so I checked it out… It’s sad to see you’re struggling, both physically and financially, and I hope you manage to recover. To give you a bit of happiness, I will say that the biggest thing of your channel that has stuck out to me in the past 2 years (besides your very knowledgeable and “based” debunking of Noralities), is your soothing voice! It reminds me of the stereotypical Japanese female intercom/Siri voice with how soothing it is! If I wasn’t so busy with college and also didn’t have a massive backlog of YT content I wish to catch up with one day, then I’d absolutely listen to you read a visual novel or a book! A great voice is a very niche skill for a narrator’s benefits, so I think that could be an interesting route for you to take someday! As for your topic on censorship, this is something I see all of the time on RU-vid, especially internet news/drama informant channels. A YT channel I regularly watch (Rev says Desu) covers sensitive topics and drama all of the time (often loli/lolicon related), and it’s insane the amount of self-censorship he has to take. Covering art of an anime girl with a slight amount of exposed skin, or reading a death threat but replacing the words with examples like you listed (or even sometimes replacing comments already censored in such a manner with even _more_ “safe” language). For me, this censorship heavily affects my RU-vid comment discourse. If I’m trying to argue with someone (usually over a sensitive subject), ever since one time I spent almost an hour formulating an organized, constructive reply-only for it to be auto-removed by RU-vid because I used a “bad” (non-swear) word in it-I’ve become paranoid enough to copy my whole comment before I post it, just in case it gets removed… It doesn’t even matter which “side” I’m arguing for/against; RU-vid just kills online discussion of such things. RU-vid has been my lifeblood for basically a decade, with the most valuable lessons I’ve ever learned coming from discussion over those sensitive topics (like your very own Noralities videos!). And it truly saddens me that now I and others have to bend over backwards just to convey the message or information we wish to say.

This censorship is infuriating me. I've only seen last week a new low for it. I wrote a comment, questioning how Israel could possibly overlook such a large-scale troop movement and fail to respond for hours. I got a reply from an Israeli and it really shook me. He said that he just lost four of his closest friends and had to pick which funeral he would go to! Then, people started harassing him for being an Israeli, and guess which comment got deleted: his! Apparently, it got flagged by too many people as spam... Talk about kicking somebody who is already down...

I feel you so much on this. I also got covid 2 weeks ago while was still trying to make it work with my ex. We ended up having a disagreement and then he completely out of nowhere blew up on me and we ended up breaking up due to him verbally abusing me. All this happened mid covid and i had to deal with it on my own from that point on, since I don't have close friends here. I don't know if I can say anything to make it better, but know that you're not alone. And you never know how things will turn out in the future, but in the meantime let's recover. I think the peace of single life can be a beautiful thing most days❤

My friend works at the college we both went to and he told me about a meeting where the higher-ups were thinking about changing the term for "master key". I work with computers and the term "slave" use to be fairly common with certain topics, slave and master nodes and stuff like that. The term slave was changed to worker (which now may become "subordinate"), which is fine, but a lot of terminology in this field is changing . For the most part, what's actually happening is, students are learning new terminology and the people in the field are continuing to use the old terms because they don't care, luckily. It's a bit infuriating though.
@NatalieXHunter

It's so weird, isn't it. I also heard talk of them changing the terms 'blacklist' and 'whitelist'. I know a lot of black people and I've never asked but I am 100% certain none of them find those terms offensive, like, if you make everything that uses black and white to represent opposite concepts out to somehow be racist, what are you even doing. Words that are used for a bunch of different things, especially words like master and slave in the IT context, aren't a direct reference to a specific period of slavery that happened in the US, they just refer to the concepts those words mean, so why would anybody be offended by them? Did they think the Britney Spears song was about racism, too? Madness, my friend. Total madness.
@DarkerApollo55
@DarkerApollo55 10 месяцев назад
@@NatalieXHunter I didn't hear about that one. I think most people that are trying to change terms are people that want to feel morally superior. I think they want to feel that they are helping society and never actually care about the outcome. I'm gonna go to ko-fi. I don't care for the youtube split.

Natalie - I am sorry to hear about your challenges. For what it is worth, however, I think you are doing the right thing for yourself long-term. I was in a similar position a while ago, and jumped into a relationship after ending a previous one, and just created more drama for myself. It was definitely not the best path....but I had to learn that the hard way. I know it is sometimes challenging to be "picky" to find the right person, but please do not settle. Life is too short, and you will be happy you kept to what you know you really need in a person. :)

I had covid twice because of my roommate, who was a fox news type, and refused the vaccines. I missed so much time in the hospital and now have no sense of smell. Then, I got hit by a truck-kun who didn't stop just two weeks after I got released. I've been in rehab for over a year now. Yes, you're in a pickle, but you just need to focus on you and find your star to guide yourself by. Take the time and lay out the priorities. I know it's generic, but sometimes that is what it is. Good luck, and I look forward to whatever you share with us. You're not alone, and you have plenty of people who will listen. So, don't be a stranger or quiet. The stiff upper lip never solved anything for anyone in pain.

I wish I could something to help you Nat, you're pouring your heart out like this and I know it isn't cathartic at all, you're in front of a camera after all. I'm pretty sure I said this way before but, if you need someone to talk or just listen to it, I'm here for you. Also, don't push yourself too hard, there's no way you can meet any sort of deadline while being this sick. Rest, have fun watching what you like, and just take care of yourself for now.

Nah, these things take time Natalie with what youre going through and hopefully the brain picks up on that some time soon 😂❤ I think just a lot of stuff has been going on and it does take time to process, your relationship for the emotional (which the british brain wouldn't help with, i know, im british 😂) and covid for the physical, everything is just taxing at this point But it makes sense, appreciate you telling everyone, we'll help how we can and tbh think it's a good idea to keep the video up, we appreciate you telling us! Hopefully work and relationship etc. start looking up, it will start looking up! It's just a matter of time tbh not if but when Relationship makes sense too, don't want to rush into one after what happened with the last, make sense, that was a long time one as well, would do the same to a lot of people! Wish you all the best!

How I take care of myself by myself when I'm sick is... By not having any choice in the matter. Although I've not caught second covid yet, the last time I had it, my muscles felt like they hadn't been used for weeks. It was so weird, they worked better during the sickness. Also, the popular euphemism these days, is 'get Canadian Health Care'. Try thinking of euphemisms as commentary in and of themselves. And if you can find a way to also comment on a different but related matter in one word it's a double whammy.

Regarding you putting uncensored videos up on a patreon, I would be really interested in that actually. Honestly, if there were a website like Nebula but for anime or general entertainment instead of just educational videos, and maybe one for news/politics, I wouldn't even use RU-vid.

I can understand life getting to ya, felt the same way when I got kicked outta college. I felt so much shame and frustration coming back home to all my family members. For awhile I lost motivation to do anything, didn't care about what I ate, didn't care about my appearance, heck I even spent months not talking to anyone new. Its hard to find a reason to keep going but not impossible, you just gotta find a end goal. It may be hard to find the strength to work towards it, but just keep thinking of that goal. Think about how you'll feel and what burden will be lifted off of you when its done. Doing that is what helped me get back into college, I'm sure it can help you through the issues your facing.

I went to a skindred gig in leeds last Saturday and when i got home I had to breakdown crying thinking it's gonna be so long before i have..... Fun again. I was fixed but a lass at work started spreading false rumours so i keep to myself now and just permanently dissociated. So yh hun i know how you feel all too well. I'm also single and have been for 6yrs so

Ik your pain. I've been single since I injured my back, seriously the next day, the day I went to the hospital I told my then fiancee I'd hurt myself. She left because she wanted me to support her blah blah blah. Now I'm disabled and alone, and not to be a downer, I'll likely be alone till the day I die now. 33 year old male that's disabled.....yeah not a good chance of finding anyone. But post content when you can and feel able to Natalie. No rush we will be here for you no matter what. Your mental health is way more important.
