I was there for both nights of filming at the Kia Forum. It really was fantastic being in the crowd both nights. That second stage performance with the violinist was so beautiful yet haunting.
I'm ordering the soundtrack as soon as I get paid and yes, when the film is available for purchase I'm buying it too. Such a fantastic movie / experience.
I saw it on the 20th and it was great! I am so happy I went! I was hoping to be able to watch Swiss, but he was very occasionally briefly shown, but it was on the big screen, so It was better than snatches of him on my iPad. But I loved the movie, the music, everything, I loved the new song so much. And the ending.... oh what a reaction everybody gave! It was so worth seeing! I love Ghost.
I turned up at the premiere on the 16th June and just wanted to see if I could catch a glimpse of someone. But Tobias saw fit to give out 32 free tickets, to earlybird fans who just wanted to turn up for the occasion. What a legend. We were gobsmacked. We even attended the Q&A afterwards with Tobias and Alex Ross Perry (co-director). The film is thrilling, emotional, funny, profound. And silly, in the best possible way. Yes, Tobias is a true visionary, perhaps a genius, the consummate showman. And the music is truly awesome. During the Q&A, Tobias said he thought of the Papa IV character as a cross between Freddie Mercury and Jacques Clouseau (Inspector Clouseau). My favourite song? It's 'Call Me Little Sunshine'. I covered it recently with my cousin.
I just love Papa IV. He is like a little kid who just doesn't want to grow up, loving every minute of his life. Those tiny little moments with his mother and then his father had me laughing at times, but as you say, the emotional side of it too came across very well. My personal favourite was If You Have Ghost followed by Respite (which is my go-to song on Impera).
I've always seen the influence that Freddie had on Tobias pretty clearly. Maybe because Queen is another of my favourite bands, but the level of showmanship, and the way he's learned to command a stage, paired with the *very* tight pants, are definite signs that Tobias has been taking his Mercury pills. 😉
This 65 yo woman went to the movie yesterday. It was great. I was a little disappointed that the theater was half empty but we did go to a very early matinee. I was hoping for a crowd that was more involved. But, I still enjoyed it so much. Tobias is a genius. And he is not afraid to make fun of the whole lore. My friend had not even heard of Ghost until I invited her the day before. She loved it. I am sad I did not wait for the credits to finish. The set list pretty much followed the set list when I saw them live this summer in St. Louis. But the additions were amazing. Two words - dancing skeletons.
The showing we went to was also quiet, I'd say around half full, which was a shame. I wasn't overly surprised because of the town it was being shown in. That's a story for another video.
I am a Ghost fan too, I went to see the movie in Milan on Thursday 20th (about one year after seeing them live at the Milan Summer Festival) and I totally agree: very high quality in every aspect. Not only a way to relive the emotions of the gig, but also a great show to watch. My favourite: Call me litlle sunshine. Thanks for the video-review: it's fun to hear the opinions of other fans.
Thanks for watching. I'm no movie reviewer but I just wanted to get my honest emotions onto camera straight after watching it. I loved everything about this and cannot wait for it's home release.
The wife and I had the cinema to ourselves last night. What a show! You're right, everything was on point. I've been lucky enough to see them on the last 2 tours in Glasgow and this felt like a 3rd ritual. They're a special band. I also thought the string version of "If you have Ghosts" was particularly haunting and gave me goosebumps!
Tobias Forge wants his band to be as big as Rammstein... I am a fan of both... There were many people at the Show who had never seen GHOST live adding new Members to the flock... There is nothing like a live show... Maybe Flaming Lips on the Fun Scale... Oh and it's Friday...
If you have ghost nearly brought me to tears. He does more than perform up there. Sad to funny to sad to fun to sad to funny and just... it was... "a rollercoaster."
I totally loved this film and I drove 100 miles to see it in Memphis. Everything about is perfect and i hope to see it again soon. Dance Macabre, Square Hammer, He Is and Rats are some of my favorites from Ghost.
F***ing LOVED the movie. Went in thinking it would be OK at best. I was floored. Want to see it again already. Will be buying it day one of bluray release!!!
I didn't expect it to be honest, as the more songs they played, the more I just found myself immersed in the whole production. It was so good! Yes, I guess we are all biased being fans of the group, but seriously, I was just perfect in every way.
The film was awesome, cinema was full too, which is unusual for my local Odeon. It gave an important message, sounded great, was shot beautifully, same usual goofy amusing ghost skits. Probably the best film of it's kind without exception. Lots of little Easter eggs too, like the Bates motel
I saw the show last night in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was fantastic. I had the chance to see Ghost in 2019,but due to problems with my knees, I have a hard time walking and standing. I'm waiting to get both of my knees replaced. This movie was the next best thing to actually be at a live concert, maybe even better. It was like having the best seat in the house and then some. I will definitely be buying the 4k copy of the movie when it comes out.
Am not a fan if the band at all but seen them live once and was good show. This was really fun,Kaisairon and RITUAL sounded perfect , the bass tone was on point
It was a concert filmed over two days but they added a storyline to it which takes place during the 'concert' in which GHOST's Papa Emeritus IV (singer), deals with his future and fate at the hands of the 'Ministry'. Sounds complicated, BUT, it's complicated fun ;-)
It brought back memories of the gig last year, i didn't want it to end, it was phenomenal. Haters can hate all they want, they're the ones missing out, we know how special Tobi & Ghost are, that's what matters.
I was in Westfield London Vue Cinema At 1.40 there was only two people and my self in the cinema. I was hoping it to be full 😢.. I absolutely enjoyed it.
It's sad that a lot of the venues have appeared quite empty in many areas. A few people have said the same now, and it's a shame that so many have missed out. Fingers crossed those that didn't attend will watch it once there is a home release.
Loved the movie! Glad I seen it at the theater. The sound was fantastic. I like the "Mummy Dust" performance. Was not a fan of the skeleton dancers. That's when I took my bathroom break.
I need to google them. I've not heard of them. I paused you to go and watch the trailer. I've seen the trailer before. Have you shown it or mentioned it in a video? It's not my kind of music, but the theatricals of it look good.
If you don’t like the music from the show, it includes older, more iconic songs but it is heavy on the more recent. Try their earlier work. One thing about Ghost is that there is something for everyone
It’s definitely a film It’s part concert part movie there was a lot of story and lure and him throwing in movie and show Easter eggs that has been my journey with ghost like how on Mary on a cross what happens at the end how did the rocky Easter egg Tobias is huge for that
I was so pleased to see TWENTIES live as it wasn't part of the Summer Tour... The movie was a continuation of GHOST the serial Comic Book... I prefer old GHOST with Pope Emeritus I and II as that reiteration was terrifyingly fun live... Cardinal Copia is a more gentle character... Socially awkward and sexually driven.
When I hear Australian accents, it always sounds like maybe the tounges are getting in their way. I don't have an accent because I talk like the TV . . . or I did when the TV signals only went a couple hundred miles. Anyway, it's a cool accent and I wish I didn't sound like the TV used to.
I don't mind a bit of ghost. Its a bit too much image than music for me tbh Id rather see Metallica. The music is much better. But i do get it.. I used to love kiss & w.a.s.p. and both are very much imagine & stage show. I will watch this when it comes on Netflix or whatever.
I just love everything about Ghost 😅 Saying that, my music taste have changed so much over the years, I'm into the heavy stuff as well, such as Rob Zombie.
I just love them music, the shows they as a collective bring, the story of the band and where it's heading too. A lot of the music is also relatable on a personal level too 👌
I agree. Ours didn't have any of the popcorn buckets or drinks merchandise that a few of the bigger city cinemas had. We did ask, but we were told, nope, not doing any of that. As you say, they could well have made much more money.
@@DaysofHorror I also thought the days were real weird, it started here last Thursday but no Fridays and I lucked up and caught it on Monday night. It’s going to do very well on streaming when it comes out.
Do you mean you have been unsubscribed from 3 other channels? If so, I've heard of a few people saying this but I honestly do not know what this happens. As for 'liked' videos, I can only think the videos themselves have been removed either by youtube or by the creator? I could be wrong?
Nothing wrong with arena rock 🤷 As for people saying they no longer listen to them now as they aren't the same as they were at the very beginning, well, thats their loss. The way I see it, I've been listening for only around 4 years, but I absolutely love their earlier stuff. Their most recent music is also excellent so for me and many others like me, it's a win-win as we get to enjoy ALL their material and not just live in the past.
@@jeepsthetimebandit I understand that. It's different for me, I only discovered Ghost a month ago and I love their music so much. I guess it's my type of thing, but there are many of us who love it too. I'm happy to be a part of it!
No, it's a story of the main singers Papa IV, who having to face up to the 'end'of his, well, not so 'life, but rather a cycle of life? Hard to explain but it's all the Ghost lore and how Tobias Forge, the singer behind the mask, has planned out the journey of the band from the very beginnings.
It was quality but I can see why it's not for everyone. You either love this sort of music or don't. Personally, I absolutely love it AND the lore behind Ghost and how and where Tobias is taking it.
