I like how Egon seems more confident in this ad now, especially at the end. Man's actually smiling when he says they're ready to believe you, instead of being well, Egon.
for real. they're all "bad acting" geniuses, like if you watch Ray at 0:37 he never breaks eye contact with the camera. or Winston kinda freezing up and waiting for Egon to say his line
And they still cut to a solo shot of Egon, before he says his part...like he even screwed it up on that take. 😆 There's so much little character stuff packed into these commercials from the first two movies, it's honestly kinda crazy. But they all worked in sketch comedy workshops, and did sketch comedy on TV, aside from Ernie Hudson, but he had a history in theater workshops and ensembles, so he excels in the same kind of quick paced energy that you need to actually pack all these funny character beats into one minute.
These commercials showcase the characters and the way they are super well. Winston is very naturally charismatic and he doesnt half ass anything he does, Ray is constantly super excited about working this actual dream job of catching ghosts, Peter is in general unenthusiastic like he is about everything else, and always with an eye for money, and Egon seems very much like he'd rather not be involved in the business side of this business.
Egon's soul looks like it's breaking apart after he's done hawking the merch...and I am totally here for it! 😂🤣 Also...the way Ray doesn't know what to do with his hands? Reminds me of Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights 😆
One thing people miss is that the theme of the movie is predicated on negative human emotions becoming slime. The ghost symbol in that universe symbolizes “peace” and goodwill, which also happens to be in the theatrical sense “Ghostbusters II.”

I actually laughed out loud, when Egon says "Lookout Winston, he's a mean one." and then that ghost blasted Egon in the face-- his expression after getting hit, and then Winston saying "Nothing we cant handle Egon."--- All while Peter is standing around like, "What the hell am I doing here??' But Ill still stay in my Superman pose." (a throw back to an SNL sketch) haha.
Director (after 23 takes): "Okay, you guys aren't paying me enough. This is the last take. Please, remember your lines. Either get it right this time, or I'm moving on...unless you've got another $500 you can shell out. I'm about to turn into a ghost here myself for two reasons: about about to die of aggravation and OLD AGE! Egon - you say you're a scientist? YOU CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER YOUR OWN LINES! Remember, this is the last take! If you goof up again, its going in the commercial. Okay, ready...action!"
