Thanks for watching! I need your help for the next couple of video's, what would you like to see? 1 - Do you prefer short build video's that do not contain too much explanation? 2 - Would you like to see a video where I explain more of the tought that went into the designs? 3 - Are you interested in the how I made the CAD models?

all 3 :D - short build updates, more detailed builds and voice-over-insights and i always love to see other peoples way of modeling.

... but if i had to choose: long, detailed videos with a lot of explanation. Sure, those are way more effort to produce, but those insights are the reason i love youtube.

Thanks for your reply and subscribing! I was thinking of the same. And I think they are about the same amount of work. The shorter easier to watch video's are a lot of work in editting and those longer detailed video's are more work in preparation. So my guess is that it will even out.

I'd like to see more about the conceptual engineering side of your printer design. Did you set any goals for minimum resonant frequency of the end-effector, thermal deformations when operated in a heated enclosure, end effector force? Have you considered variations on standard six link linear delta kinematics? I'm very impressed with the progress you have made towards developing your engineering business and your planned studio is beautiful. Good job!

Hey Anthony, thanks for the comment! I did consider the resonance, and thermal deformation but concluded that it would make the project way too complex and assume that the effect of perfecting those variables would have a very limited impact on the print quality. So simply put I accepted them to be known unknowns. There are a couple alternatives for the kinematics, the reason why I went for this specific setup was to eliminate (or as far as possible) backlash in the system. in the following years I did see a couple alternative methods but decided to just stick with what I was already working on. Thanks for the compliments! I want to continue but it has been delayed a lot due to the purchase of a new home, I have a new studio/workshop there that I am definately going to share the build of!

Hi there! I just discovered you channel and I really like your videos. Are you going to keep on doing videos about your delta 3d printer? I really hope you do.

Thanks! I definately want to get back to the delta printer. I had some other things that I wanted to finish first, but most of those are done now. So I'll continue the build and make a new video on this project soon!

To be honest, they dont need to be straight, just as long as they have same length.

You are right, the important thing is that the distance between the center of each of the bearing balls is the same. It is easier to determine the correct length though when they are straight (in this instance).
