Lol yup in some ways evidently it helps make a video popular, so I hear more comments etc. Not sure if that's true, but anyway I try to help if I can. I didn't expect this to get so many views, but it's a cheap way to build a Ryzen pc hence another reason I think it did pretty well!

Bios support for R3 2200G is F10 second BIOS released (board came out end of last year so it's fairly recent). You should have support for it out of the box mine was F10 and I got it a few months ago.

Okay, I know this video is 4 years old but maybe, if someone out there's new to the PC world like me, this Motherboard is absolutely still worth the money. I got this board, well actually the Revision 3.1 one, for less than $60. The best thing is, it still has its BIOS updated by Gigabyte so you could run a Ryzen 5000 series on this thing (not that you should especially for the X-Series or anything with a TDP higher than 100 at max) and it'll be just fine. I had mine with an Athlon 3000G and yeah, it worked really nice. Planning to get the Ryzen 5 5600G on this with a bunch of other upgrades, so yeah really good affordable AM4 motherboard for the common folks. Very nice video btw, man.

You are correct, the BIOS has been updated even supporting much newer CPU's. Nothing wrong with the board at all, for what it offers. IMO it's a huge waste of money buying a top end expensive board for most users. This is a bargain still even in 2022

@@IamToast-ei3qt Newer stock will be more up to date, otherwise use a USB stick to update the BIOS, you can do it in Windows too, multiple ways to flash BIOS. However, you must have a compatible CPU to boot it

Yes Ryzen 7 1700 has come down a lot in price for budget users I would go Ryzen 3, for those using productivity (ie photo/video) Ryzen 5 or 7 is the way to go. There will be faster CPU's on Ryzen later on and cheaper wait for price drops. Even first gen Ryzen has very good performance

Chipset doesn't allow CPU overclocking. 2 I don't suggest Ryzen 7 (unless you need top performance for workstation), Ryzen 5 offers more bang per buck as such or Ryzen 3 for general use. Ryzen 5/7 are for those who tend to do more productivity based work, video/photo/rendering. 3 is fine for many users

Hi Mr Barz, I have a quick question. I have this mobo and in 2 weeks, I'm planning to buy either a Palit Super Jetstream 1070 ti or an ASUS ROG STRIX 1070 ti which, to my knowledge, are both 3-slot cards (or 2.5 IDK). I'm quite worried since the 3rd PCIe slot doesn't seem to extend to a full size slot like the previous two. Is the distance between the PCIe 16 to the front panel connectors enough to fit in the mentioned GPUs? Will the FP connectors/USB and Audio headers/upright SATA cables get in the way in installing either cards?

You shouldn't have a problem though they are long cards, if you do get a right angle SATA cable. FP and USB board connectors are right on the bottom not a chance they'll be a problem just route the cabling in a tidy way

I'm away at the moment so I'm not 100% sure on the chipset. All I can say is I've never seen a single device compatibility problem with this board, and I've used it since I made the video with many devices.

Yes with new BIOS, but you need a CPU to update it so be careful I would suggest Ryzen 5 1600 then update later on with newer CPU's there isn't a big difference in performance from the 1600 to 2600 the big update comes next year

@@Nart49I've not but I have not really looked into it much. More VRM's can be useful for really extreme overclocking there is enough headway here to deal with your average overclock. It is a budget board so I don't really see a problem with the VRM's the quality seems decent enough in my real world use and overclocking. But like I said there are better boards if you are pushing things more, this is a great value board the fact they added the OC with BIOS updates is a bonus

If it's recent stock then the BIOS will be more up to date. I would always suggest buyers go for the first Ryzen CPU's just to be sure. Ryzen 5 1600 is the best buy right now, newer Ryzens are a little faster but not significantly next update 2019 will be more significant in performance gains and Gen 1 Ryzens are cheaper now and still very fast CPU's.

It won't support that out of the box so you'll need a supported CPU to update the BIOS the 5 2600 only recently came out I'd suggest going for the 5 1600 not a big difference in performance and cheaper, then last generation update the CPU if you want (the big update is next year this year was a minor tweak)

No direct control for RGB fans ie lighting (you need a board that supports this) or use a controller you can fit to the case etc. Use a splitter for more than 2 fans Headers can power water cooling they have enough power (amps) to do that

The mobo supports every Ryzen to date. Any GPU on pci-e works don't understand why people would think a gpu won't work. Throw a GTX 1080 in it just works as it will on any board. There is no point buying a CPU with built in graphics, if you use a dedicated card. Get a Ryzen 3 1200

@@MrBazReviews Mr Baz Reviews That's the CPU they gave me with the PC I ordered, i looked it up and found out it was a pretty decent CPU so I went with it. I'll be upgrading it in future anyway so it'll do fine for now. Btw would a 500watt power supply be good enough to use with these parts and would it be safe to add another 8gb 2666mhz stick of ram to give me 16gb of ddr4 ram? Like is an AMD athlone 200ge able to support that much ram?

Hello Mr Baz, I'm trying to make a budget ryzen 3 2200g build. Would you look at my specs and give me insights ? CPU : RYZEN 3 2200G BOARD : I'm thinking of choosing this board since I don't overclock, A320M S2H RAM : Either 1 x 8GB or 2 x 4GB, 2400. Since I'm going to add a discerete GPU I don't push too much on the RAM speed. PSU : 500watt Also, if you have time to answer can you please tell me what S2H means ? Is that something important because I couldn't seem to know what it means, same thing with other mobo. 2nd, what GPU you would recommend for future upgrade ? Like 1060 6GB, do I need to upgrade the PSU ? Thanks in advance :D

@@washuuking3745 You don't have to overclock Ryzen 5 is excellent performance it will be good for many years, Rx580 also decent enough. Can always update CPU and GPU later on down the road for minimal cost

Battery doesn't make any difference it's beneath the slot and not very high, no card I've ever seen has components in this area or a heatsink, there are also solid capacitors below it again it's a non issue. For larger cards you'll lose the PCE-Express slot below it but not a huge loss another is there if you need it

Hi I just got this board and I am a bit disappointed with the manual and instruction , I hope you can help me. Does it matter which DIMM slot and SATA connector I use if I only have one stick of ram and 1 sata hard drive? Also I don't have a cd rom, from gigabyte website support page, the only driver available for download is the realtek audio driver, is that all I need? Thanks in advance.

I had this board for a couple months, I used a ryzen 5 2600, 16mb P-Viper 3000mhz and a gtx1650 for my build. it ran all my games but not good, it seems to have a problem with power delivery to the GPU which causes bad system lag and jerking mouse in demanding graphic moments. Anyway after weeks of trying to fix i changed the board for a gigabyte 450 Aorus M for £75. My system is now perfect and i didn't even have to mess with setting it just worked out of the box with drivers. There are always reasons why products are cheap P.s great review btw

I can't say what it could be, but I've not seen a problem on this board running a 1660 GPU, though that does draw power from the PSU, I did try a 1650 (Kalm X) in it, and didn't see problems. Could be something as simple as a BIOS update/driver. It's an alright board from where I'm coming from, I see folks dumping out big cash on top end boards and it's a bit of a waste, in a few years they'll change sockets anyway. So to me anything over £80 isn't a good investment IMO

Have a look at the gigabyte range and other makers. I'm not into Mini ITX builds myself but they have a few (tend to cost more though)

There is no way to know this as you can buy it from a place with older stock, newer stock will have a more recent BIOS. I would always suggest having an earlier CPU (or borrow one) to flash the BIOS if needed.

I can't say if the stock was recent the BIOS should support Ryzen 3, but I always suggest buying an early CPU to be sure then update later on. I've not found heat to be a problem on the two Gigabyte boards I have done videos on, not at all. Even this one doesn't have heatsinks on the VRM it's not an issue at all. If you sent it back get a replacement and try that, there can be many reason for a non boot, remove all extras, re-seat the GPU and check cable connections is the usual manner to proceed. Both recent builds I did went perfectly with no hitches. Try a replacement board.

Nice unboxing. Is it safe to overclock a ryzen 3 1200 on this motherboard?

You can't overclock on an A320 board it doesn't let you. B350 or higher needed. Honestly OC'ing isn't a huge deal for most users there are drawbacks higher power consumption..ie just get a CPU that does what you need performance wise. For gaming Ryzen 3 is fine for most, if you do productivity Ryzen 5 is the one to go for. Ryzen 7 is a bit high in price to suggest for most users

similar to you I have this mobo with a ryzen 5 to do video related work. I'm still a noob with editors and indeed choosing the right graphic cards. What would you suggest? gtx 750 ti? think you were mentioning some new stuff out now?

The 750TI is fine it's getting on a bit but has reasonable CUDA core performance I've not had any complaints. Of course newer cards will do better but Ryzen is fast for video work I can't imagine anyone being unhappy. There are new cards coming out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units#GeForce_20_series Keep an eye out for more affordable ones so I would hold on for a bit a 750TI will certainly do the job in the meantime with a Ryzen 5 6c/12t AMD might also come out with something interesting later in the year GPU wise

@@hirodaryananiOnly thing I've seen is videos showing that they are older graphics cards with hacked firmware to make out they are faster newer ones. So a 1050TI might be a 750TI in performance. In other words it's a rip off job I would stay well away from them you won't be getting what you pay for. Have a look around on RU-vid most of the videos I've seen say just that they're fake cards might work but they are not the real thing

Dear sir, Can I overclock using easytune on this board. And in bios it does allows to overclock and show the OC frequency but in RYZEN master I checked it shows its running in default settings.

You can't overclock the CPU on the AMD A320 chipset you can OC the Ram but not processor. You need a B350 chipset board to do that. To me not a big problem either get an X CPU (which is higher clocked) or don't worry about it OCing means slightly faster but also higher power consumption it's not as important as a platform build overall if you upgraded from an older CPU design

Hey bro, I was going through some a320m mobos that is putting in me in dilemma. I want motherboard with hdmi support,now what am noticing is that most of hdmi says 4k @ 24hz while other display output going up to 60hz but there are few motherboard which also support 60ghz but at little resolution than 4k.. should pick 60hz mobos ?? My use will be video content creation to gaming

The HDMI on board is for integrated GPUs (like the one on the r5 2400g). If you buy a graphics card you connect the monitor to it and not to the board.

@@spidertube1000 thanks for replying but totally miss read my comment I was asking about 30 Hz vs 60hz, As a 320 and b450 and maybe even other motherboards, they have variation of refresh rate on higher resolution like for example 4K AT 30 Hertz /2k 60hz and while some does not mention 60hz at all they just have mentioned 30 Hz with their higher available resolution. now this won't be any problem if I wear using graphic card but since I will be not for a while if I built this PC I wanted to know if 30 Hertz is that going to be bad experience while gaming . PS I am using voice to type function so.

does it contain any on board power led lights ??? i'd apriciate a fast answer thanks ...because ... i build my pc just a few moments ago, without a CPU (bought it a couple of days, its on the way now) , and i tried to power it on (i know it sounds dumb but it is posible to turn on a pc without a cpu and its totally safe) ...and nothing ... absolutely no sign of any life ? On the other hand i see a led indicator on my GPU which tells me he's geting power from the PSU ... Now i am interested if the motherboard has any led indicators that tells me if i pluged the power cables corectly ?

@@shanepoth2877 Get a USB one the cards are not as good from my experience (sit behind the pc ie blocking the signal more) the USB ones can be moved about a bit. Most boards don't have built in WI-FI bar a few higher end ones

Lucas the HD2 doesn't have the M.2 slot but it has a USB 3.1 Gen2 port, so really depends on what you want longer term I think it might be worth getting the S2H as the M.2 could prove useful. I'd dial back the PSU power a bit no need for 700+ watt. I am looking at a budget power supply soon so look out for that video (cooler master one)

nvm I read the manual and it says if u put two ram into the slots( 2x 4 gb) it will allow you to enable it as dual channel in the bios and it will increase memory bandwidth, which will actually help the fps.

It will work but I don't think the 1800X is a big upgrade I would wait a bit and the newer Ryzen's coming out will push down prices on the other models see what AMD bring to the table in a few months that is what I would do. The 1600 is a great CPU for the performance and price. Up to you but I prefer more substantial upgrades. If the info is right the new models will be a strong update, that will mean the older ones will be reduced in price quite a lot or you can update the BIOS and see if the newest CPU's offer a lot more

When it's booting hit F12 and you will enter the boot menu, if the USB drive is attached it will show up. Or you can plug the drive in and go into the BIOS to set the boot priority it does show USB drives when attached

@@LuisRodriguez-gr4zq It should work update or clear the BIOS this is a standard feature no Gigabyte boards F12 takes you to the boot menu, BIOS will also show the USB drive

So, didn't see the motherboard only has 1 cpu fan header, and can i connect 3 fans, because my case comes with 3 fans and i don't want to leave 2 fans in my case not working...Any way i could power them?

Most boards have one CPU header ;-D Run a splitter off both headers you can get 4 fans if you want, no need for 3 case fans really or run one off PSU

The headers will power any fans 3/4 pin, for RGB control though you'd need the controller if the fan supports it.

You can fit any card you want to this board it's pulling it's power from the PSU with cards like that. You can use the Gigabyte app in Windows to update it or download it and in the BIOS use a USB stick

You can OC on the board with newer BIOS. I would not buy a 2400g and GPU because it has built in graphics you are better off if you want to use a dedicated card getting say a Ryzen 5 1400 or 1600 both are good value right now and perform well

With a new case the screws/risers are in the box with it everything you need is there. Boards don't come with screws though Gigabyte do include the M.2 screw/riser, least the ones I have bought

@@MrBazReviews I can't link you right now but on the box it says it has x370 chipset but the name is GA-B350 something. Same case with GA-A320M-S2H V2 (rev. 1.1) with B350 logo on the lower right corner of the box. I'm not sure if it's a sales tactic but it seems like Gigabyte is using high tier chipset on entry level boards. I'm sure it's not just a BIOS update since it came like that out of the box. I actually never seen any mobo manufacturers do this.

@@blogJM There was no support for overclocking when it was first released (remember this cam out later in the year v the previous boards) so I'm fairly sure it's a B350 with BIOS disabled features, future updates brought over clocking. Officially AMD are not supporting Ryzen 3 series with A320 chipsets - so I would say it's B350 likely They updated the BIOS on some other B350 boards too - this is good for users though I wish AMD would have full support for all boards. I Wouldn't rush out and buy a high end board - probably only a couple of years left on this socket

They updated the BIOS a lot even recent CPU's work. Performance gaming is mainly GPU, CPU has an influence too as does RAM. Board not so much really

You can support multiple monitors but you've got a mix of DVI-D, HDMI and VGA. So unless you're alright with the VGA it might be better with a dedicated card. The new BIOS supports 3400g, but with F40 BIOS update so you're likely to need to upgrade that and you need a working/supported CPU to flash it

CPU support is in the pinned comments it will work with updated BIOS to the lastest Ryzen's but not the upcoming ones. Either way no big deal I expect 1 or 2 more Ryzen's then a new socket so don't invest much in a new board IMO if you get a deal on the other one go for it or this will also do for a low cost build (let's be honest it's way better than off the shelf Mobos for pre-built pc's) Buying a high end board is a complete waste of time and money, when a new socket it out there is nowhere to go for upgrades.

Gen 3 only at this stage no sign of an update, don't sweat it they'll be using a new socket in a year or so, the last release was a disaster for AMD out of stock on most Ryzen 5xxx CPU's and the prices shot up hugely

There is no built in graphics but you can use the Ryzen 5 2400G or Ryzen 3 2200G which have the Vega graphics in the CPU no need for graphics card with those. On the other Ryzens you need a GPU
