Beniamino Gigli sings Faust's final aria "Giunto sul passo estremo" from Boito's "Mefistofele". This is from the opening credits and first scene of "Only For You" directed by Carmine Gallone. The beautiful woman reading the score is soprano Maria Cebotari (1910-1949), who plays Gigli's wife in the film. Although Gigli is off-camera in most of this montage, his voice comes through perfectly ... they may have used an existing studio recording. He is visible briefly, in sync, and in costume as the elderly Faust, almost unrecognizable!
