Gillette Superspeed Red Tip DE Razor | EuroMax Platinum Coated DE Blade 

Converted one lad at work. Gave him a Parker 89 and a selection of blades. Entertaining watching him come to work covered in bits of toilet paper!

Sorry to say Paul, but you used that shaving scuttle all wrong. We have on our shave forum a University ethnography professor that is a specialist in Austro-Hungarian empire. He elaborated in details about this item. It was used as a hard soap holder. Clean water was a rare commodity, and running water was even rarer. They used that basin of water to soak the brush and add water while lathering on their faces. That bowl on top was just a soap holder, used to load the brush. Those holes on the bottom were there to drain any water that was left in the soap holder while the brush was loaded. From that period comes the practice to wipe the razor of some cloth or of a palm of your hand while shaving (straight razor that is). The lack of running water being the reason for that too. Nevertheless, a great looking piece of shaving history you got there. :)

Nicely done. I just shaved my head and neckline with a Merkur Futur setting 1 and a fresh Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless.

Great shave Paul💈💈 The Gillette cream gave out on you at the end🤨but still provided a good result. The Red Tip did the job and I'm surprised no or very little issues. The blade choice as untested and used in a more "aggressive" razor was a bold move😉 4711, "The" original and still smells wonderful. @PaulHFilms. At, 5:14min not suppose to do this. It doesnt matter no need there a three way step to use on vintage shaving scuttle. Its a old time practice; now you just feel free to use whatever you like!. Be it with shaving cream, shaving soap, shaving pluck soap and etc. You can even put glycerin there to make uber-lather boom-lather. The good thing its still being used scuttle. Now, there new one modern scuttle lol with cork.

I love butterfly razors. That’s all i use recently. I used to fancy slants but they are more on the aggressive side.

Hi Paul, nice shave! Some of my colleagues used cartridges and can foam. Now different kinds of DE razors and creams. And my father went to cartridges and can from electric razor. But he only want to use the rest of cheap cartridges and than changing to a ming shi 2000 which i gave him. So, yes, convinced some 😁 have a fantastic week my friend! Jens

I have a Palmolive shave stick brought it from superdrug in around June still got it and brought some of there cream from Sainsbury's yes superdrug still have it on there website so stock up

great video, oh here water can get very hot...hell in my home town the water can reach boiling point from the tab and get almost frozen when cold lol here where i live now tab can also get pretty cold dont beat the water from my parents lol...i bought the last 3 Palmolive stick in the supermarket in my home town

Nice shave, Paul...love the flowers as always. ( I own that same semogue shave brush its one of my favorites, it took a long time to break in but it was well worth the wait, I call it a scrubber it really lifts the beard in preparation for the shave plus it’s a quality face later brush. I own far more expensive brush’s that cannot match that little brush in performance. I own 2 Semogue brush they’re both gems)

One of my favourite regular shaves the gillette superspeed, you have the same red tip as mine also. Never get any nicks with it.

Nice shave, that scuttle is not the place to put your brush, but to have your hard puck of soap, and the brush, you had placed correctly. Use warm water and at place the brush in, shower and lather up. The holes makes the soap warm. Imo. I knew that was the cat right away, lol. Have a nice week Paul. 😊👍

When I bought my first shaving scuttle it came with a puck of soap in the bowl at the top

There was another "young guy" shaving channel(approx 1.5 years ago) that featured a fellow who probably thought of himself as sophisticated(he used Jazz music as background)...Anyway, he didn't last a hot a minute...I hope the guy you spoke of last longer or does not burn out.....

Paul, go back and watch this video from 26:58 on, look camera bottom left. WTH was that? It did not look like a bug and you had already finished with the lather so I don't think it was a soap bubble. Saw sever others that could be insects going behind you from camera left to camera right. This did not look like a bug on my phone.

To me the gillette regular shave cream smells like old spice a little bit.
