Sounds pretty damn spot on to my original ‘79 Deluxe, only not as noisy lol. Pretty much everything is there, including the really metallic bell-like tones you can get out of it that almost pass into ring modulator territory. Cool pedal! Fantastic name too, pretty hilarious!
What a glorious flanger sound. I think it's kind of under appreciated these days because so many people associate a flanger with the insane jet plane swoosh preset from their old multi fx units.
Seems like a great all rounder - can go from subtle “is it a chorus or a flange?” Andy Summers type settings, right through to EVH tones and everything in between. Love it! As for PastFX taking on 80’s chorus such as the Rockman you mentioned, I’m hoping that chorus is included on their upcoming Rockman X100 pedal. I really can’t wait for that one!
I’ve never heard of PastFx until your last two demo’s of there pedals I’m very impressed by them and you did one hell of job on both videos killing it every time you do a video🤟🏻thanks for all your hard work and knowledge LT ROCK ON 🤟🏻
that pedal has a very nice shimmer effect i like it very nice !! thanks bud great video,i have an old DigiTech chorus /flanger pedal from the 80's this has same sparkle chime
Just got one of these, it came with stereo out (though I think I'm going to keep it in mono for my board/uses), a bright knob and a loudness knob instead of internal trim pots. It immediately 'does the thing' and nails 'that sound.' Great pedal.
Your demo of the Chorus convinced me. I am waiting mine now, eager to try it out. And today, this other fantastic box from PastFx. I have the EH Electric Mistress and I am not really satisfied of it. Will this Mattress join my board? 😊
Very cool. I see you got out the almighty Hamer. What a guitar. Love that Strat too. It sounds like the electric Mistress improved for sure. ♥️🤘 On my first cup of coffee and saw your vid and couldn't click fast enough. Still need to watch the Soldano mini head. Have been working for my elderly parents to keep their house in order and especially the yard which is jungle like here in the green green pastures of the Midwest. 😂 Be safe and well sir. ♥️
Thanks!! It definitely has the goods. I’m constantly amazed at how I owned, used, abused and broke all these FX that their sound are in such demand today. I can still recall the image of me throwing a mid 70’s EHX Rams Head Big Muff Pi in the garbage. Probably over some simple loose solder joint. So stupid. In fact there was a point where a Big Muff > Electric Mistress > Deluxe Memory Man > Fender Twin or Band Master was my rig. Also used a 2X12 Sunn cabinet with Sunn labeled JBL’s in them. That was my mutt version of a stack.
I always dig your heavt rock stuff, but the intro song you did at the beginning of the video was really cool. Lets hear some more of that. Your strat sounds killer by the way!
If you're looking for the Electric Mistress flanger sound, the get the Retro-sonic Flanger. I have the Retro-sonic and the V3 Elastic Mattress and the Retro-sonic is much better sounding. Side by side, the Elastic Mattress is thin, overly bright and brittle
I noticed that Bjorn from Gilmourish prefers the Mattress. I’ve got one and haven’t noticed any loss of low end. Doesn’t sound thin or brittle at all to me.
The original vintage Electric Mistress was thin sounding and cut out your bass frequencies. If you want an accurate recreation, that’s part of it’s sound you have to accept. If a pedal starts “correcting” things like that, it’s no longer an accurate recreation.
@darwinsaye Yes, electric mistress cut bass. But not this much as the mattress. Top end on the mistress wasn't brittle like the mattress. So not an accurate recreation then either.
