Try having your regulator @ 45-50psi and your air pressure around 175psi and that will help with over spray, I just learned that and it works awesomely interiors also... Great video thank you

Yep this is exactly what I was going to say. That thing is turned up way too high, first pull of the trigger I'm like that's a problem. Get a regulator on that thing and you'll use a lot less product and it will be a much better spray.

Been driving 45 yrs. Detailing cars is great for a car show but its like fighting a title waves if you expect to keep your car that way unless its kept in the garage with a cover on it. One of the hard lessons i learned.

True some people say why do you detail your car if it’s just gonna get dirty again. It’s the same as somebody saying why do you wipe your butt if you’re just gonna poop again? Well it’s about maintenance. Every day we’re battling to keep our cars looking as close to new as we possibly can.

I’m not some safety lunatic by any means, but anytime you are atomizing chemicals, dust, etc, having a mask is a good idea. This sort of stuff will really mess up your lungs. Its different than just using a spray bottle. Especially when you are using stuff that is solvent/oil based. Similar to painting without using any PPE. Not trying to be one of those safety weirdos, more like caring for fellow humans! Great content and keep up the great work!

Yup! 20-50psi. Keep your pump at max. Get the small regulator. Just do it. And run it as low pressure as you can buy tuning. This will keep the fluid on the subject. Fanning out to much will create more overspray... more misty on edges. Also, could drill hole out for more volume but have not resurched this and wouldn't need for car detailing. Even the larger $15- 30 buck units would do great. I do have two larger purple guns. One I did drill to 2mm. For thinned down house paint. If you have doors to paint. This is a blasted time saver, and what a pro job!! Yup, love these guns on the cheep...... For small jobs like tires pancake pump would do, perhaps a house door too, but that's pushing it. For longer streches with rest between, I wouldn't (want) to use anything under 20gal pump. At least for the bigger purple gun. Great idea on the tires, by the way❤.

Looks like an HVLP, you need a regulator at the coupler coming into the gun. Then just back it down to where its not spraying overspray everywhere.

@StaySlick
@StaySlick 2 года назад
Yeah I was just talking about that with another subscriber. When I first got the gun I used it at the suggested psi but I wasn’t getting the result I wanted. So I raised up the PSI on my air compressor and now I get the results I want however the downside is the overspray. To be honest though I have never noticed it on the paint of the vehicle or at least it’s never been bad enough to notice. Probably because I always do a final wipe down with a detail spray before the job is done
@1967friend
@1967friend 3 месяца назад
The reason you have so much over spray and fogging is because you are using way too high of pressure. It’s called an HVLP spray gun. (High volume, low pressure) Get that air pressure cut way down then tune your flow and fan. You’ll find far less overspray.

I'll pass. If it's something I could spray with this thing, I could just use a $1 spray bottle and do the same thing and not have to worry about having an air compressor as well :/ The products I use either can't be sprayed like this (meguiars endurance) or I don't think can/don't want to spray like this (chemical guys vrp full strength- although it'd probably work especially if watered down but I have no problem using a brush to apply), or are already in a can and spray like this without needing something else to do it (cristal untouchable).
@StaySlick
@StaySlick 2 года назад
True but it won’t be the same result. I say that because I also use that method. I notice a lot over spray when I use a spray bottle probably because the droplets are larger than with this gun. The gun atomizes the tire shine to such a fine mist that the over spray doesn’t really show up. It’s personal preference but I thought I’d throw that out there.

Looks like you’re making more work for yourself more stuff to get out more stuff to clean up after because tires are usually done last now you have all that overspray on the vehicle and I’m sure they can’t be good breathing in all that overspray. Would’ve had that done in five minutes with the product and applicator. These are just my thoughts and my opinion.
