Thanks so much.. Your video is the only place where anyone shows the actual spray pattern width for this little gun.. should be good for doing some bumper work and fender trim detail..
Small world. I was just looking this gun up after getting one at a yard sale to see if it was any good. And I picked yours out before seeing it was one of your videos. Thanks, good info here.
I finally used mine today, had to paint 10 heater registers black. Used Rust-Oleum paint and thinned it out. It sprayed great, it was so much cheaper then buying a bunch of spray cans . What a nice little spray gun.
I bought two of these for painting guitar bodies. The second one I had an issue with the paint leaking from the nozzle but loosening the packing nut in front of the trigger fixed it instantly. It works great with a small compressor. I do not bother using a regulator because I only need about 2 cfm to spray the water based paint I use. Plus I use a 15' hose and the PSI setting stays pretty consistent when I spray so I just use the regulator that is on the compressor. I basically wanted a low cost spray system instead of using rattle cans and this fits the bill perfectly.
Add a regulator and moisture separator (get rid of the valve) and you'll love it more! BTW, always filter your paint. I also use a ~4' whip hose on the end of my air line for more flexibility. Just a bit small for motorcycle work, but still works great.
Brad Rheinheimer You’re so right! It’s cheap enough almost to be a throw away gun, but it works so well I can’t throw it away! I have 2 and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one. And thank you very much.....
Thank you for video. I totally forgot that I had purchased this a few yrs back. Got hurt so everything was on hold and found it and your video! Fantastic and thanks much! I doubt you’ll see this, but if you do.. Did you thin the paint from TS?
It Makes you wonder how they can produce ship, distribute& store it for 13$ and everyone make some money along the way. boggles the mind, Thanks for the video and review, I w ill definitely consider on should the need arise
+Phil's Projects So true! It's like an apple at the store cost $2 but a Twinkie cost $.50. The Twinkie has to be made, packaged, and shipped. The apple just has to be picked up off the ground. Makes me wonder. I really do like this gun and plan to get another one for primer. That way I can prime and paint before I clean everything. Thanks so much.....
Barry Manilowa wow! That’s a whole lot of BS! I was over in China a few years back on business and sir you truly are clueless. All your statements on China are 100% fictional, but you just keep spouting off there son. God Bless Ya
@Barry Manilowa why do the Chinese send their kids to the United States for secondary education AND abuse birthright citizenship through birth tourism? Lol.
the paint has a lot to do with the success you will have with this gun. the tractor paint seems like it's a perfect fit. I've taken my apart and cleaned it thoroughly many times. It's a great gun to practice with. I recommend buying several different cheapo guns and practicing to experience the differences and if you screw up no big loss.
Use a 20% off coupon and it's 9.99. This guns sits in my arsenal of Devilbiss Pro lite & Flg-5, Sata Nr95, Walcom Geo fx ,INR R150T And others..This gun is an Iwata copy and it is Gem..I used this gun only on a sand rail complete and its works well,I mainly use it for roll cages in drag cars...I have also used this gun with my 1963 Devilbiss 1hp 3 gallon compressor on the dock to do some touch ups on my boat using gel coat because it is small and very efficient..
Joe Mamma Awesome! It’s always nice to hear from someone that knows how to use these things! I’m just learning, so thank you. I really appreciate it.....
AHHH..You got this..You're smarter than the average bear..Go get the full size purple gun..Its 7.99 right now..You will like it very much..I buy the expensive guns used on ebay and if I need parts I get them from spraygunsdirect in the U.K. you would not believe how fast they ship, From u.k. to Florida in one day...No Joke..
Hi, would it work well for fabric paint? Not the one that gels up but the one that you can spray. Tulip Glow in the dark spray one. The bottle it comes in SUCKS! Thanks.
Lola I have no idea. I'm so sorry but I'm just a "do it yourself" guy. If I were to guess, I would think it should work. Sorry I'm not 100% sure and good luck.......
+jster1963 Oh it's ok. I just did not want to get one if it isn't going to work. I have tried different spray bottles but no luck. :/ Thanks anyway for the reply. :)
I just received one of these. What's the nozzle size? I used a magnifying glass , it's stamped 90. 90? what the hell does that mean? I have the std size sprayer, it is stamped clearly 1.4 . I also have the touch up sprayer , it's instruction book states in the specifications the nozzle is 1.5 . The specs for this one doesn't list the nozzle size. Is it a secret? It does have a nice chart telling you what nozzle to use for different fluids. Seems to me to be an important spec.
I'm sorry I have no idea. I just mix the paint to the consistency of milk and go from there. I really wish I could help, but I can't. Thank you though......
What kinda paint were you using ?? Did ya have to thin it much ? ? I just bought the same one today, haven't used it yet, and I like it already.. Everything is gonna get painted.. LOL..
ThomasTheSailor Chubby I was using Tractor and Implement Paint and definitely had to thin it. I’m no expert, but the thinner the better. Thank you and good luck.....
ThomasTheSailor Chubby I don’t remember. However, make it thinner than you think. It should be the thickness of milk. So it seems watery. The thinner the better. And good luck....
!HELP PLEASE! I have the same problem (min 1:09) with my new mini spray gun, how could you fix it? i use the same adapter with other spray guns and i dont have porblems , only with my new gun its truper pipi-400, I do not have air regulator on the bottom of the gun like yours, air comes out from the adapter when I move the gun, if I do not move the gun and leave the gun in a certain position stops giving the problem, but obviously I can not paint since the position is not favorable to paint, and I repeat use the same adapter for other guns without problems, and the size of the adapter is apparently correct, some idea or solution? I would greatly appreciate your help, have a nice day and I'll be waiting for your answer, thanks.
I bought one, and when I took it apart to clean it before I used it there was a little brass/bronze ring that fell out of somewhere and I can't figure out where. It fits over the fluid needle but as I said, no idea where it goes. I tested the gun and it works very well anyway. Anyone have any ideas on this?
+RG Hillyard I'm sorry I didn't take mine apart yet. And now I'm scared to. I bought another one for priming. I'll let you know if I find something out.......
Can you tell me how you got it apart, mine is on there really hard and I am afraid if I reef on it to much I will break something for sure. I dont think they need to be on there that tight..
My wife hated those parts! They were my raggedy work pants for doing anything dirty. I told my wife that super models in New York pay hundreds of dollars for these kind of pants 😬. And thank you very much.....
Amazing to see how good a rock bottom priced paint gun can perform... This is the type you use and then trash instead of cleaning it, solvent is too expensive... Still with the same jeans... lol
+pierre beaudry Lol! Those jeans are becoming my trade mark;-) There are some guys that do use these as throw away guns. I just can't do it. I use a paper towel twice...lol Thanks a lot.....
Got a pair of shoes just like your jeans, they're avoiding the garbage pail for a couple of years now.... You might have seen them in some videos... ;)
I got the same gun. The packing "grease" is actually silicone, and nearly impossible to remove. Do not use this thing right out of the box. You have to get all the junk out of it before use.
Jeff's Big Guitars I bought this gun today just to spray the base coat on a set of rims I’m refinishing. I put a little reducer in it out of the box just to adjust the psi, fan ect and the gun was spitting a sputtering the whole time. After a little research, which I should’ve done in the first place, I disassembled the entire gun. It was full of chunks of assembly lube all over the Inside of the Gun. Took me almost 2 hours to get it all cleaned out and reassembled, huge pita. But after that I was actually surprised how decent of a job it did for a $13 spray gun.
J. G. Just play around with it and see what does what. Use thinner or acetone or mineral spirits and some cardboard. That way you won’t waste paint. You can always use water too. Just make sure you dry it throughly if you use water...
that little dog will hunt. I have two of them. gotta keep'm clean. they kick a rattle can's butt. painted old bmw e3o hood with it. perfect for tight spaces door jams.
I just got this gun.is mine does not have a rubber washer to when you connect the paint container to to gun...is this normal?thinking it might leak paint at that fitting. .. thanx
I don't have a regulator on this gun, so I'm not sure. However, it's not a lot of air at all. This gun works like a champ and uses very little air.......
dOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO TAKE THIS GUN APART TO CLEAN, LIKE THE NEEDLE AND LUBE IT ALSO, i TRIED ON MINE WITH THE TOOL THAT COMES WITH IT BUT COULD NOT GET THE NOZZLE OFF, WOULDNT EVEN BUDGE THE NUT
No problem. However, I just looked at the gun and now I know what you are talking about. Unfortunately, I never took it fully apart to clean it. I have only taken off the tip and cup and run acetone through it until it runs clean. And now that I look at it I'm scared to take it fully apart. I'm sorry I can't be more of a help. Please let me know if you find out how to do it........
I take mine apart but the wrench that comes with it isn't up to the task. They used to sell ignition wrench sets at sears that have a lot of small sizes. Otherwise a 6mm open end wrench will do (I had to grind mine down a bit to make it thinner or a 1/4" ignition wrench fits perfectly. Really love the little gun in spite of it's lack of precision adjustments. A lot of these guns come over tightened & may even have sealant on the threads. Never had any trouble with it after complete disassembly, cleaning & reassembly. Got mine about 5 years ago.
It's not a professional tool for sure, but it really works well for the small jobs I use it for. I only use it occasionally and I'm happy with it. Pros will probably want a professional gun! And thank you very much...….
