I'm apathetic to the 'new' franchise and don't want to miss or remember it. Maybe another 8 years is in order....😟

Lucas really wasn't involved that much in Hollywood politics. He never liked the studio system. It's pretty clear by the time the prequels came around, he surrounded himself with yes-men and became insular. IMO, Kennedy was always whispering in his ear and filtering everything he heard. She may be a terrible person and absolutely garbage in her real job, but she has a talent for manipulation and flattery. That must be the only reason Spielberg kept her around for so long.

Well obviously she shouldn't have lost her role in the Mandalorian over this, freedom of speech and all that. But it is important to draw the line somewhere, I don't think things like actual crime should just be glossed over, but that's obvious. However some views can be very damaging and I think it's important that those are also accounted for, free speech stops where someone else has to suffer for it.
