When I was little we had a German Shepherd. She saved mine and my sister's lives. These two guys tried to lure us to their van, we were outside playing and our brothers were inside and supposed to be watching us. They were inside playing Atari. (This was in the 80s) well our dog Pepper saw what was going down and chased those men back into their van. My brother's heard the barking and commotion and came outside and brought us back inside and called the cops. Idk if those men were ever busted, but I am so grateful for Pepper. I now have two daughters of my own and am looking forward to getting them a German Shepherd as well!! But I of course will never let them go outside without supervision.

When I was 13 I missed the bus to school. Walked into my local 7/11 and asked to call my mom and let her know. The cashier overheard and offered me a ride, which I told my mom before handing him the phone to speak to her. (She asked to talk to him once I told her about his offer, LIKELY to tell him off.) Anywho, he gets the phone and I will never forget what he said to my mother. Exact words: "She is already gone." I ran. Ran like f*ck. Ran into my mom who was hysterical of course. Holy shit!!! I'm glad you're safe. There are a lot of stories of someone getting the help of another and it turned out okay, and we're so happy that this genuine person was there and that they were genuine! But then there are stories like this. This is why we are happy about the genuine ones, because even getting help from someone can make a situation worse. Which sucks, we do what we do trying to survive, we hope It works out. That's so sad and absolutely terrifying!!!

I live in a small neighborhood about 50 minutes away from any possible police response, and at nine years old I already knew what men did to women, and I especially knew never trust a dude in a van offering you a lift. Like I said I was nine, and I was biking in 110 degree heat with my older brother, and we were riding all over the place in loops and stuff. But, I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, because every time only a few hundred feet away was a white van, so I say quietly to my brother, "Hey, umm so there's a dude in a van behind us , and I know this is a stereotype but I swear bro, this van has been behind us since we left our house. So, should we keep moving or what?" And he says, "I'm gonna talk to him one second." And so my brother bikes over to the dude. And according to my brother the dude said, "Hello kiddo, you want to ride in my van?" And at this my brother yells for me to run, so we bolt on our bikes and escape safely. Now I look at every car on the road to make sure they aren't following me.

What's even more disturbing is when women tell of our experiences there are men who will try to call us "liars" and say such things as "you all are professional victims" and nonsense like that. Misogyny is all too real and we need men to speak up and call these men out who seek to do wrongful things to us. These men will not listen to women, but they will listen to men. These men even join various online groups where they exchange notes on how to hurt and even kill women. I can name 2 mass shootings targeting women which came directly from men who wanted to brag to other men of what they'd done.

but most of the time, don't attackers target "easy prey" who don't actively fight back or scream for help or try to defend themselves? if the attacker had one objective on their mind and the victim wasn't physically attempting to escape from the situation.. wouldn't that make it easier for the attacker to be able to act on their intentions more forcefully? there are definitely perpetrators out there who purposefully want to see how much power they can have over someone no matter how much the victim tries to fight back. but they usually act out on impulses that don't require them to waste energy and effort trying to keep the victim under their grasp or even risk getting themselves hurt from the victim's self defense manoeuvres etc. typically they just want a quick and vulnerable target that allows them to act on their impulses and be "over and done with them" without attracting too much attention or too much opposition. if the perpetrator's intentions are strong enough, acting as if you like what he's doing could further escalate the situation, since in his mind he thinks you're enabling what he's attempting. i'd say there are different psychological tactics someone should follow depending on the threat level of the attacker. a tactic that could de-escalate the attacker in one situation may put yourself more at risk with someone who has a different mindset/different intentions. and this type of situational awareness can be clouded when you're in the moment, fighting for your life trying to escape the threat

Men will never have any idea how scary it is to be a woman. You get objectified most days if you are going about your business looking cute, because of course your dressing up to be attacked or objectified or you deserve to be attacked for simply being yourself. I have 3 girls, and I am absolutely petrified of them growing up. I worry about them all the time. I am a victim of abuse and so is my sister. We grew up in care and was abused and objectified all the time by men in the care system. Now I'm not saying all men are like this. But I'm almost a hundred percent sure that men don't feel like we do on a daily basis. It's sad we all have to talk about this, but I am forever grateful for social media for making more womej aware of what could happen. To all the women these things have happened to I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But remember you are not what happened to you!! Teaching other women how to be more safe and take care of themselves out here is the our way of moving forward. Much love to all the savage beautiful women out there, remember we are all stronger women by being united together as a sisterhood.

She went through a short cut ditching the path and It led her into a dark part of town, after awhile she had a feeling that someone was behind her. She decided to walk a little faster and made sure her feet didn’t tap on the ground loudly so she could hear any footsteps from behind, she did hear someone coming closer to her. She then saw someone across the street (another girl) and crossed quickly, she pretended to know the her and the girl also played along. The girl looked behind my friends shoulder and realised there was a man following her and she took my friend home another way. I also knew he was a coward because that's exactly what a coward would do so I banked on that and started pretending there were people waiting for me in a distant parked car and just started waving and happily and calmly yelling, "ok ok, I'll be right there!! Haha!" 😳 Thank God! The minute he thought there might be people there he stopped dead in his tracks, looked, spun around and left. Completely insane! It's crazy to me now that that was so normal to me that I would have never thought to report it- so many of us just assume things like that will happen whenever we walked out the door. So sad. I now have 5 sons and they were raised to be protectors not predators.

Not really quick thinking but a few years ago (I was 12) I was walking my pit mix through my (wealthy) neighborhood and this guy stared following me. Kinda low key at first but the I noticed my dog started acting strange. Clearly the guy somehow hadn’t seen my dog, because he was still following. My pit mix was wearing my other dogs old military harness, so when my dog turned around no went into protection mode, the man ran. It surprised me because my pit mix had always been pretty shy and skiddish. I trust him wayyy more now

Something similar happened to me, but with my Rottweiler. She was the smartest dog I ever owned, like scary smart. And the biggest love, she ran up to everyone she saw to be pet. Never aggressive a day in her life. One day my cousin (visiting from out of state) and I were walking and a man started talking to us. When he reached out his hand to pet her, and it got near her face, she backed up and growled. We booked it out of there, and even my cousin, who barely knew the dog, knew it was unusual behavior. To this day I wonder what the dog smelled on him.

Everytime we would go on FaceTime, he would show me his knife collection. He would be sharpening them while talking to me... It only took me a month of us dating to figure out that he was an abusive piece of shit. He would constantly ask me for naked pictures, (I was under 18) and after I said no, he tried to pressure me. We did “it” once, in the woods....... That terrifies me now that I think about it... I was 14 at the time. He would say awful things about me to my friends, like how much of a sl*t I am and shit. When I confronted him, he denied it. He is a massive manipulator. If I had stayed with him, I don’t want to think about what could have happened to me. I needed up reporting what he did to me to the principle of my school, and guidance counselor. I am still in Highschool, and have to see him everyday. It is not a big school, so we run into each other often. The principle had to tell him to stop talking to me, and he didn’. He tries to talk to me all the time these days.. He really thinks he can continue to manipulate me into thinking he’s a nice person by saying things an average person would say like “how are you” and so on. If he is in the same room as me, I can’t be in there. I have had to endure countless amounts of therapy to deal with it..

I have a story about this, I am not a woman though. So I had Brent o a Christmas party, and I was walking home. Then this very shady looking Dude starts following me, but then I see a girl from my class, getting into her car. We will call her Isa. I don’t know Isa very well, but I know her. I run up to her and say stuff like,” hey girlie!” She then looks at the shady dude behind me, and I kid you not, This woman reaches into the trunk of her car and pulls out a fucking scythe. And then she winks at me, and then twirls the scythe in perfect sync at the guy who was following me and says this, “ This baby ain’t just for show.” The man then start running for his life, and then Isa called me to her car and said everything was alright and drove me home. Once we were in the car she told me that she knew how to use the scythe and then told me if he ever caused me trouble again to let her know. We’re friends now and Isa is actually really nice, and she has let me know that she will never stab anyone with that unless she really needed too.

I was 16 and on the bus, when this man (he was probably around 60 yo) came near to me and just stayed there for a while. After some time I started to feel something touching my thigh. It was winter, so I was wearing jeans, not a skirt or something, but I could clearly feel something touching it. I tried to look at what was it without looking at it directly, just to understand and I noticed it was his hand. At first I thought that maybe he just wanted to grab the edge of my seat, since that he was standing and the bus going, so I just moved myself a little bit more towards the window, and that everything would have been fine. Well, after that he immediately put his hand under my lower back, forcing it. I practically jumped, I immediately went towards the doors. I wanted to leave the bus at the next bus stop. I was scared that if I have had said something to the driver, he would have believed the man and not me, so I didn't say anything. But unfortunately I was in a part of my city that was quite famous because even worse things happened, so I came to the conclusion that staying on the bus was actually safer for me. It was 6pm but it was already dark, and I was a teenager, alone, so I knew that I could have had even worse troubles going around that part of the city. Unfortunately, the guy must have thought that maybe I was just playing difficult, because he came near to me and just started looking at me with a smirk on his face. In that moment I realized that he would have followed me, and that scared me even more because I just wanted him to leave me alone. Luckily for me a lady saw the scene and understood what was going on, so she came to me, she told me that she saw that the guy wasn't leaving me alone and asked me what was my bus stop. I told her and she said that hers was the one before, so she invited me to leave the bus with her, so that the guy wouldn't have followed me, and then I could have go wherever I wanted. I accepted and we followed her plan and it worked. I was so relieved and I'm still grateful to that woman, she probably saved me

The first story 😮. That happened to me at the grocery store once. I had my 3 yr old son. A lady was parked on one side of me with her dog talking to a man near her car. They’re staring at us, my boy is waving at the dog. I go into the store. Come back out and now the woman is parked on the other side of me where I put my son in. She starts asking me to bring him over to pet her dog. I screamed no. Hopped in the other side with my little boy, locked the doors, and put him in that way. All the sudden the guy starts to come out of the car and walk towards us and I backed away. He hops back w her they start to follow, and I pulled into the police station down the street. They drove by. And I reported it for being insanely suspicious. So Moms alone with your kids stay vigilante.

That came in handy when I was walking home from school with my friend (both like 9 at the time) and she noticed someone sketchy behind us and told me about it. I saw someone further up the path walking their dog so I dragged her over to the lady with the dog and said: “Hi auntie Rebeca! I see you’re walking lulu! Can me and Lara walk with you?” The lady picked up on it and we started walking. She accompanied us all the way to my house and then took my friend to her house after. I still see her from time to time if I’m walking up to high school and she’s going back from getting groceries. I help her with them every time as a thank you gesture.

When I was a teenager I walked everywhere, regardless of distance or time of day. I have always enjoyed the soothing monotony of walking, but a few incidents in my childhood made me very aware of my surroundings as I go. Anyway, I was about 16, headed to my boyfriends house at about midnight. He lived about 3 miles away so it was an hour long walk. The whole town was absolute garbage, but his side of town was the worst. Lots of decrepit abandoned houses, stray dogs, drugs. Cheap rent though. I was maybe 10-15 minutes away, and noticed I had seen the same truck drive by me twice. I kept going and it circled the block and drove by me again. They rolled down their window and asked me something but I ignored it and kept going. They drove off. I called my boyfriend and told him that someone was following me so he stayed on the phone with me and he and his roommate came to meet me. The truck circled me once more, saw I was on the phone, and drove off. I didn't see them again. I also didn't walk to my boyfriends house alone late at night anymore. I told him he could walk or drive but he was picking me up from then on. He did because he was a good boyfriend.

this one isn’t abt trafficking like the rest of these women but it still traumatized me and had i not made the decisions i did i probably would’ve died. i was in a big city with my friend. bare with me this is long. i was completely sober and he was blasted drunk. we rented some scooters and took them to a 7/11 where it looked kinda sketchy but i figured if i just could keep him from doing anything weird then we would be able to just get out of there. couldn’t stop him tho. he finds a group of 4 homeless people and starts threatening them, sliding them money and then insisting they find him some cocaine. he follows this one homeless woman down a street, threatening her life and when she goes dashing he chases after her sloppily (bc drunk hat 60mph blowing through pedestrians while i’m back where he left me, sobbing my ass off. these girls he blew through looked a little shaken so i went and apoligized to them. idk if it was a gimmick or not, but they made me stop and started asking me abt places in town to go eat. eventually, i start spilling everything to them and they come up with a plan with me. my “friend” comes back, threatens me, and i walk away with the saddest look as these girls sit there worried as fuck. i wish i could tell them that i’m okay. my friend at this point was angry at me for leaving them, so he starts screaming at me on the sidewalk. he starts talking about a time where he’d been shot, exactly at the same time a homeless man comes up behind him only to crush a can with his foot. my friend yells at the homeless man, and the man had a delayed reaction. i felt horrible for this man, but this man could clearly see i was innocent and what he did scared the absolute shit out of me. he held something that my sober self didn’t recognize as a weapon, and shouted BANG. my friend, though drunk, told me to leave. to ride my scooter away and never look back. i couldn’t do that for some reason. i waited for him and we started slowly walking back to where i had parked while i’m sobbing and he’s just mad that his phone somehow went missing. he keeps insisting he go back for his phone and i insist we go back to my car. he decides to leave me and stops the 6th homeless man of the night asking him to call his phone. he repeats his phone number several times while sliding this man 60$ and the man says “ok fine, i’ll call it, just follow me”. friend follows him down a dark corner and atp i’m like FUCK this i know where the hell this leads. so i go sprinting towards my car. when i can’t find my car, i come up with a backup plan. i find these girls who had apparently just parked in the city and ask them for help. i tell them the story, how my phone was dead, etc. they let me get in the car and we’re about to drive off as my friend comes plummeting down the street screaming. when he gets to me , he screams “WHERE WERE YOU?” i told him my plan and that i was gonna get out of there regardless of if he wanted to or not. he told me he got fcking JUMPED in the back alley by no less than 20 people, exactly what i had thought would happen. the girls let him in their car, too, and we go on a hunt for my car. friend in a drunk daze is still thinking about his phone, and jumps out of the car while it’s still moving. the girls try to stop for him and i’m like “please please please just take me somewhere safe so i can call my mom.” we couldn’t find my car, so they took me to this super safe hotel a ways away and dropped me there. i call my mom and she comes to pick me up & look for my car, also my friend if possible. we found both, my friend insisted he didn’t need a ride home, and my mom threatened him that if he ever talked to me again that she would tell the cops everything he put me through and put him in jail (i didn’t tell the whole story abt the illegal shit he did but he did a lot). he never talked to me again (good), and i never got to tell any of those 4 girls who saved me that i ended up okay. it breaks my heart.

my heart goes to the poor woman at 5:00. i get the thinking of "pretend you enjoy it" to mess with the attacker's head since most of them never expect that reaction, and she had a knife to her side so unless she knew any self defense, anything she could've done or said was putting herself in more risk but she had a gut instinct to mess with his psychology and it worked, i guess. however, he literally walked her home and knows her home address, what if the outcomes had been different and he came back? that was a huge risk in itself. i'm guessing she lives alone- what if he had forced himself into her house once they got to the door? what if everything escalated from there, and since in his mind he believed that she "liked" what he was doing to her earlier, he decides to escalate the situation when they got to her house?? what if the guy's intentions were stronger than they had been and he was more forceful?? she was already in a vulnerable state.. but her vulnerability increased when they got to her house where he could've had more of a chance to hurt her behind closed doors, off the public view of the street/alley they were previously in. as dangerous as this situation already was, what if he didn't just "miraculously quit" ?? that guy was never in the right mindset at all to begin with. he had one objective in his mind- if his intentions were stronger than they were.. wouldn't he have escalated the situation since she was an "easy target" because of the fact that she didn't try to scream or fight back or defend herself? it would have been way more of a threat if he hadn't backed down. please never ever take that risk either way..! nonetheless, everything that happened to her was assault. from assessing the situation, it's possible she was in shock and didn't know how to react or didn't consider all the worst possible outcomes at hand in the moment and she also did say she was drunk, so that would've affected her senses even more so than it already was. though she was taking a huge risk when she allowed him to follow her directly to her house. if there was a police station closeby, she could've created distractions and lead him straight there. or if she had kept walking around with him and found other people on the street she could have asked/signalled for help then.. but the chances of him trying something else on her when they got to her house, or him coming back to her house in future since he already knew her address and believed she wasn't opposed to what he did initially.. man. such a scary situation to be in

I kind of have a story for this. Basically when I was around 8 or so, I lived in an apartment complex. I had a friend who also lived there, and her mom always kinda creeped me out but I never really thought about it. Anyways one time I walked out of my apartment complex to go get a soda drink and I felt a hand grab my wrist and just start pulling me. It was my friends mom. She had a pair of scissors in her hand and a cigarette. She just kept mumbling and saying she was going to take me to her house to play WiiU with Vi, my friend (not her actual name). As she was pulling me, I see this kid sitting on his stairs up to his apartment with one of these like water toys that I had left at the apartment pool. So I stopped walking and said "Hey, that's mine." The kid kinda tossed it to me, and his mom that was sitting on their porch, told him to pick it up and hand it to me nicely. Suddenly, my friends mom (the one trying to kidnap me) let go of me and started screaming at the mom and saying that the mom was going to beat the kid. The mom on the porch turned to me and basically just told me to run home, so I booked it tf out of there. My friends mom continued to come to our door and like aggressively bang 9n it and yell at my parents for that whole day and the cops took like 3 hours to get there so they basically did nothing to help. Never saw her again after that day until the other day when she showed up on my snap chat quick add :)

A few rules I think every person should follow no matter your age and especially if you’re a girl because this type of stuff is just so much more common if you are. 1. Get home before sundown and/or 9pm if you’re at a party. If you’re walking or biking or something after sunset, make sure you are with at least 5 friends and/or family members with a mix of genders. 2. Avoid partying with strangers altogether. 3. Doesn’t matter if you trust your friends, WATCH YOUR DRINK and do NOT get drunk. Remember it’s always okay to say no. 4. Set up an emergency call system to auto-dial authorities on your phone with a simple command (like you click the volume button 5 times to auto-dial on mine) and always have it in reach and accessible if you are alone in any given situation. I personally always hold my phone with my thumb just lingering on the button inside my pocket where it’s not visible and has a lesser chance of dropping. 5. ALWAYS dress modestly if you are going out (there are exceptions, but this is just in general). For example, don’t wear short skirts and crop tops to a supermarket. It’s not about fashion preference and freedom, it’s about keeping yourself safe from perverts who will attack you while you load your trunk with groceries EVEN if you are dressed conservatively. 6. Do not walk around with headphones on if you are travelling alone unless you are in your own car (with the door locked), and do not play on your phone or distract yourself with anything if you are taking the bus and there are very few people on it. Same goes for taxis and Ubers. 7. Carry something you can distract someone with. Guns and knives and even pepper spray can easily be turned on you if the prosecutor gets the upperhand. Get an alarm keychain and/or pin to blast super loud sounds. It’s difficult to silence them in a hassle, and you can pull the pin unnoticeably. Even if it’s 3am and no one is in hearing range, it will still delay the assaulters and give you a chance to escape. 8. If you are living alone, try to make it look like you do not live alone. This literally can be done by simply placing a pair of *used* work boots at the front door along with your normal shoes to make it seem like people are constantly coming and going. I suggest products of the opposite gender to make it more obvious. 9. Install a webcam (or multiple) on the outside of your house and don’t get one that isn’t waterproof and isn’t equipped with night vision. Set an automated alarm system for trespassers when you’re not home and/or it’s night and you’re asleep. If your friends are going to be popping in during alarm hours, tell them to call you beforehand. They shouldn’t have access to your home anyways. If you have a passcode, it’s not for them. If you need a trusted person to check on the house while you’re away for a while, give them a copy of the key and make sure to get it back when you get back. 10. Locations, off, always. Exceptions are people responsible for your safety like your parents and/or spouse (assuming that they aren’t the ones you’re in danger from). NEVER post your exact whereabouts on social media unless you’ve left it already. On vacation? Do not post anything till after you return home. Hanging out at a local park? Wait till you get home. Your address is private at all times to everyone. If you’re meeting up with someone for an interview, go to a cafe or something. Selling something on Kijiji? Transaction completed right outside the local drugstore! And honestly the list is endless, but these are just some really crucial ones.

TW: Rape and sexual harassment. Stories are related to each other btw. Story #1 (On the news in my area) When I was younger, we had this playground that was completely surrounded by a forest and a pond. To get to this playground, you had to walk through the forest on a slim concrete path. This path was at least 300 metres long and only had a lamp per 100 metres (the lamps were dim and you couldn't see anything). There was a teenage girl, around 15-17, that had to walk to the playground and past the forest to get to her house. It was dark out and she continued her path and there, in the bushes, was this middle-aged guy. The middle-aged guy jumped her and dragged her further into the forest where he raped her. Instead of trying to find the scum bag that did it or help out the victim, they decided to make plans to destroy this forest to prevent it from happening again. (good move but they should have helped the victim). They completely cleared the forest but left a few trees to keep the "natural" look and built another park in its place. Story #2 (I was physically there) After the construction of the new playground, parents obviously wanted to let their children play at the playground. After a while, less parents started to come (less witnesses). My mother had taken me and my siblings (younger sister and brothers) to this park at some point in my childhood. I distinctly remember watching a disheveled guy walk into a bathroom stall but you could no longer see his feet on the floor. He had jumped up on top of the toilet seat and was watching over the tops of the toilet to see if anyone would walk into his stall. I told my mother and she started picking up my siblings and took them to our car. At the same time, I saw this little five-year-old girl start walking to his stall and I started sprinting towards the girl. I picked her up, took her to her parents that wanted to kill me for touching their child, and explained what was going on. They told the other parents and everyone started to leave the park...except for the guy. He kicked open his stall, started screaming cuss words, and walked down to this van where another guy jumped out. Story #3 (The guy that jumped out of the van: Story on the news) Apparently, the guy that jumped out of the van was also linked to "toilet stall guy" and used different methods to trap kids specifically. There were these ducks in the pond at this playground and people would come and feed them. The "van guy" would jump out of his van and offer kids bread to feed the ducks if they followed him to the van. He was unsuccessful in catching a kid with this method because the parents would always be around. When these guys were caught, the "toilet stall guy" was known for sexual harassment and the "van guy" was a known kidnapper.

When I was 15 or 16 I was walking around in a small grocery store/gas station with my dad in a small town. I walked around trying to find some ice cream and noticed someone taking all the same turns as me. I didn't think it was weird because it's a small store. I found the ice cream and stopped in front of the glass to check out my options and the person stopped behind me. I saw something in the reflection above my head like this person wanted me to look up or was measuring our height difference or something. Idk maybe he took a picture of me I have no idea. Right after I looked up he grabbed my butt and I turned around almost laughing because I though it had to be a friend that I knew but it turned out to be a completely white haired man over 6 feet tall(I'm 5'2") smirking at me and walking away backwards from me. The smile left my face and I was confused and disgusted and kind of froze. There were cameras everywhere in that store and outside and when I got to the car I told my Dad. He started breathing heavy and was obviously mad but he didn't do anything and we drove home in silence. I was attacked by someone again later, a family member, and received a similar response when I told my family about it and basically everyone in my family besides my mom told me to fix my relationship between this family member and myself...like wtf how is that my job or my responsibility or how about I just call the police and get the sicko put in jail??? They were all so confused and protected my attacker(whom I later found out attacked other people in my family, some when they were kids) but it took me 10 years to even tell people what happened to me. I dealt with it by going numb sexually, down playing my experience and saying things like "it's not that bad, at least a, b, and c, didn't happen etc.". I also went through a stage where I was completely fine with the idea of never having sex in my life because I was so hurt and betrayed by a man in my life that I had previously respected and loved. I did end up getting married but I still have libido/sexual issues which I really struggle with. It makes me feel less of a woman, makes me feel bad for my partner, makes me angry because everyone deserves to feel the amazing pleasure that our bodies are capable of. I know I am capable of it but my body can't let go of the trauma. Women can't bloom into their full sexual potential when they are shamed and taught from a young age that they shouldn't touch themselves and that sex is bad. They can't bloom when they are afraid and betrayed and have to constantly feel like someone is lusting after them in a sick way. I am trying to find the right way to heal. Idk if I can in my situation. I have never met a man that made me feel safe 100%. Idk if it's possible. I know that I need the right masculine energy to heal and unfortunately I don't think I will get to expeience that in my lifetime. I am 30. Best of luck to everyone else on a healing journey trying to get back what was stolen from them.

I said alright and asked how he was after he responded I said that's nice have a good day and started trying to walk away but he kept following me around asking what I was doing later where I was going . I tried to ignore him cause he was making me uncomfortable. He tried to grab my arm as he asked me my name . I asked him not to touch me and I walked into a Tim Hortons in the food court and he stood beside the line still Trying to talk to me . I didn't even want anything I just wanted to get away from this dude . He kept calling out to me " please come hang out with me . You're so beautiful." Multiple times he did this . When I got the front of the line there was only 3 people in the whole store no seating area. I ordered a water and then said to the cashier, who was a teen boy rather quietly "can you take your time and pretend this is a big order so I can wait here away from that man till he leaves" and this kid was awesome and kept talking to me while pretending to be busy making stuff until the guy left .

This happened almost a year ago, on my birthday. Me and my best friend were waiting for the restaurant to have open tables before we could be seated, and we were walking along the shopping center next to it, there were giant checkers and chessboards, so her and I go and play giant checkers, as were minding our business this guy comes up in a bike and lights a cigarette, looking at us intensely, I immediately felt a red flag in my mind go up and I have my father on speed dial and I act like I’m on a phone call as we continued to play. He started to get really close, staring us up and down, and so I grabbed her and told her we needed to leave but she just had to clean up the board and put everything back, I gave zero shits and grabbed her and crossed the street, only for him to start following us very closely, I start looking for a group of friends or a family or a couple to go to and act like we knew but all of them went in somewhere, or had a very young child that we didn’t wanna disturb, so I once again grabbed her and just booked it all the way to the end of the center and called my brother and his friend who were luckily close by, he’s a very tall and antagonizing man and the guy who was following us left when he came to get us. Keep in mind, She and I were 14. That’s sad.

My sister and I almost got kidnapped in Seattle a few years ago. We were walking down the street, it was in the early afternoon but there weren’t a lot of cars. There was a tourist city map close to the corner of the sidewalk. It was big and made of steel. And we noticed a sweater laying on top of it, unattended, we stopped for a moment or so, and then a voice came to me in a flash: run. I grabbed my sister by her arm and started walking away. And then I turned around and saw a man trying to catch up with us and a black van driving at his same pace. At that moment we both ran like crazy, and when we got to a more populated area the van left. So, girls, NEVER look into tourists maps that have items left on them without looking at your surroundings.

Okay, so this happened litterally a few months ago. Back in March, I went on a school trip for my Show Choir. We went for FAME Orlando, at Hard Rock Cafe which is by Universal, the trip was so fun and we had a blast. It was the day on our way back home though. We had gone to the airport and were waiting to check our bags, line was hella long. I happened to be the last person along with my friend, and right in front of us was our Director. While waiting a man came up to me, and he had told me that he could get our bags checked in for us quickly. At first I was like, oh okay. I mean he had a blue polo like all the other workers. I didn't think much of it so I agreed. He had then told me to "Follow discreetly." I took 3 steps with my suitcase but then a voice told me to stop. That's when I noticed something was off, he didn't have any sort of security thing, or the name of the airport on his shirt. I just stood there and he turned around, but kept going after he realized I wasn't following, picking up the pace. When I tell you I had a panic attack, my director didn't hear, and my friend was busy on her phone. No one would have seen me leave if I had gone with him, I full on believe I would've been kidnapped. My friend group managed to calm me down along with my brother. I couldn't leave anyone's side the whole time we were there. I ended up have 5 different panic attacks that day and night. I'm just glad I had the realization before it was too late.

When I was 13, my mom and I were on a road trip down 95, in the South. On one stretch of highway, this older white guy in an old pickup truck was kind of playing leap frog with our car - slowing down so my mom would pass him, then speeding back up to get in front of us again. I don't think my mom noticed until I pointed it out, and she kind of brushed it off.... Until we pulled off an exit for gas and snacks, and the guy followed us. He parked next to us and started "causally" asking questions, like where we were from, where we were going, etc. Thankfully my mom had the wits to lie about all of these answers AND added that we were meeting up with her husband who was a Marine veteran (he was a complete fabrication). Also thankfully, it was broad daylight and the gas station was very busy. She and I hung out in the gas station store until the guy left, and we never saw him again. Eerie as hell. We probably should have reported the incident just in case he fit any descriptions of serial killers or abductors.

Why is it that whenever women telling their stories like this, men come on here talking about "Well women are also evil..." or "Men need to watch out for women, too...",as if us women are attacking men? You don't see women commenting anything like that whenever a man is telling their bad experiences, but sympathize with them.

Because someone (SOME) people will say that men are evil and they mean it in "all men" kind of way, theyre just reminding people. And some girls actually do comment stuff like that towards victims that are men too. Its shitty. Yes, but at the end of the day. We cant avoid it.

@@baldibaldimore6423 - Nonsense. Misogyny has been around for millennia and now that more women are saying, stop raping us, stop murdering us," misogynists show up to cry "not all men." I was seven at the time, it was December and my grandpa died. There was this old dude looking to be about 50 or something who visited us and he was constantly flirting with me, inappropriately looking at my body and did that everyday for like a week. Me, being a judgmental child, thought he was ugly and thought that he was a little too old and turned him down. He wouldn't stop so I just became rude to him. IF he was a little younger OR attractive (despite his age) I would've let him. I WAS SO STUPID FOR THINKING THAT. Good thing I don't judge people for their looks now. :)

Honey, Uhm… Did you just say you would have let him if he was a ‘little’ younger? Girl you were seven? 7 years old? I hope you’re not a child anymore now because that would be worse but regardless of the way a person looks: you shouldn’t let someone make inappropriate remarks and look at you in such a way if it makes you uncomfortable or you get a bad feeling in your gut. You should have informed your parents and try to avoid contact with that creep. Even if he were younger and better looking, a good looking person can still have bad intentions. ESPECIALLY a grown man who gets flirty with a child? A CHILD. That seriously makes me furious

I was 9y/o going to go pay for something at a local store heading to check out. I wanted to show my mom I could do it without her. A guy stopped and kneeled down in front of me asking me general personal questions and I answered even though I felt uncomfortable (didn’t want to be rude). He then looked up to his left (so I did too) and there was this other guy nodding at him motioning to him to hurry. First I froze but then began running backward. Knew he was up to something then. Found my mom but stupidly didn’t tell her what happened til later that night. Wish I would have spoken up. Maybe would have saved some other girl😔

This was in 88 or 89 when I was about 19 or 20. I had just spent a long day in New York and a couple of hours bus ride back so I got back late. I was in college at that time. It was around midnight and I still hadn't practiced yet that day, so I decided to go practice. The music building was closed at that hour, but I knew a way in through a basement window that someone left unlocked. I was walking on the sidewalk down the hill and there was a bridge across the street to my right. I suddenly felt danger. A sound. A gang of guys were right toward the end of the bridge holding a gun towards me, yelling something at me, and running towards me. I was getting close to the window so I ran around the corner of the building into a sort of cul-de-sac where there was only one way in there because the rest were the sides of the building. I knew I could get to the window on time for me to open it, slip in, shut and lock it if time and run up the stairs to the main floor before they could see what I did. Except..... to my horror I found someone had locked the window! So I was trapped. I could hear them running towards where I was, and the only way out would have me right in their path. So my brain went into calculation mode. There was a machine there which was part of the heating or air system so I hid behind it, just before they got to where I was. So as they were running into the cull de sac, I moved around behind the different sides of the machine based on where I could hear their feet as they ran around looking for me. Then they ran out. I waited and listened, and waited, until I could not hear them. I did not know where they were. I hoped they were far enough away for me to make a run for it, but if they weren't far enough away, or they had stayed somewhere in the area, and if I peeked around the wall to see where they were and they happened to see me peek I would have lost seconds- time which I could be running away fast enough for them to possibly not catch up to me. So I made the gamble to not look and made a run for it. I ran like a bat out of hell, up a different hill and into the dorm. The whole time I felt fear on one level, but clear calculation on another level which was what allowed me to decide every move I would make to lessen the chance of them getting to me. That was a close call. That night marked the end of my feeling of safety outside at night.

Ok, so in 2016 me, my 3 sisters and our mom were sleeping in one room together at night time and a tall man with LITERALLY no clothes on except a pants was by our window and was trying to some how open our window and get in. But my big sis woke up and saw his hands inside our room, and she quitely woke are mom so the man don't escape. My mom woke up and then quickly crapped the guys arms and told my big sister to call the police and to get the butcher knife to cut the guy's arms off. The man then pulled his hand away from my mom and ran off, I tell you we were all terrified of what just happened.

One time during my first year at college and living away from home, I was walking to my morning class at around 6:30 am. It was dark and I was at an intersection waiting for the pedestrian signal. While I was waiting, a man with a Purge mask comes up next to me with backpacks and a bike. Me being an incredibly naive girl, I thought he was just being friendly looking at me, so I looked back and smiled and said "hello". He started speaking gibberish and laughing crazily. I kept smiling and was creeped out, but just thought he was a little weird and didn't think much of it. I created some distance by crossing the street one more time because I got really bad vibes. Later at around 12 pm, all students at my university get a schoolwide email stating that a man in a mask was seen brandishing a machete, running threatening students on campus for money. I felt so ashamed and guilty for not being more careful. Lesson learned!

In college I was out of town on a trip with a bunch of classmates. We were all staying at the same resort. It was around 1 or 2am, they were getting drunk in the common area and I was lounging alone by reception because the wifi was better over there. There was absolutely no one else and the common area where my friends were was quite a distance away. Soon some old guy comes up to me. He’s apparently the owner of the resort. Starts talking to me, asking a bunch of random questions until it turns personal. Then he calls for one of the resort staff and asks for him to get us both snacks and drinks. At that point I’m seeing red flags go up in my head. Immediately I message our group chat, asking for one of our GUY friends to call me up pretending he needs me to come meet him. Thankfully one of my friends does exactly that, and I put him on loudspeaker. The old man’s face falls as soon as he notices. I fake apologize, say I need to go and book it straight out of there. Terrifying to think I could’ve gotten drugged and God knows what by the owner of the resort himself.

Your all amazing smart women ❤️ I had a weird one I was riding my horse alone on the trails crossed path with 4 wheelers like 6 guys , they started off friendly which most trail riders are .. but they where drunk , so they started joking first then messing with my horse grabbing my reins , then 2 started to pulling my legs to try to get me off the saddle I tried very quickly to kick my horse off to canter but realized the quads where circled around him .. so they managed to pull me off started ripping at my clothes and saying the most crude things . I was so scared all I could do was tell to my horse who was still standing there ...then out of nowhere my horse started striking at the men and kicking and biting at them.. full on beast horse mode .. I'll never be able to shake what could of happened if it wasn't for my boy ❤️

My friends and I last summer were getting ice cream from an outdoor stand attacked to a building when a guy was creepily staring at us, pacing back and forth, and whispering to himself. This was a red flag for all of us, considering that we are all teenager girls. Now, the building that the stand was attacked to was actually a restaurant and bar. My friend's dad, who took us there, was in the bar. So my friend gripped onto her keys tightly in case we needed to fight back, and we made a mad dash around him and inside the bar. Here's the moment where you can tell he was stalking us: he tried to follow us in! The bouncer, however, saw everything and let us in but not him. We told her dad, and the staff quickly were on high alert. The bartender was really nice and let us eat our ice cream inside the bar. She even offered us sodas. Eventually the guy left. If we stayed outside any longer, who knows what could've happened to us.
