@@miapdx503 I sincerely hope you're ok. I never felt any sense of foreboding - might be my own way of dealing with stuff I guess, I tend to think that if I imagine something happening, it wont. It is when I'm not thinking about it that it happens - I was caught completely unaware when a man assaulted me on the street a few weeks ago. No feeling, no incentive of looking over my shoulder. And I'm pretty cautious, sometimes paranoid. The only times I felt something was when there were obvious clues around me - people arguing, being the passenger of a drunk driver. Once I was just out in the city at around 2am, listening to music and enjoying my alone time. So I see this girl walking in the park, and a large man following her. Man was about twice her size, and the poor girl looked so terrified. The man quickly looked around, and started touching the girl. He probably didn’t see me, as I was wearing dark clothes. I immediately went over there and yanked the man off of her. I’m pretty tall and muscular for a girl, so the man left very quickly since he didnt really have a chance. I helped the girl get home safe, and we are actually best friends now :)

This is why I hate hearing men say "NOT ALL MEN". I mean, yeah we know that, of course! But times like these, us women have to stay as vigilant as possible to avoid these types of unfortunate occurrences. I was taught how to defend myself at such a young age. There's enough evidences/cases provided for us to learn how dangerous SOME men are. I hope men would understand that this is why women generalize. We don't want to experience these kind of situations first-hand before doing something about it. Parents, please teach your sons as early as possible to be better, for future generation's sake.

But honestly, I'm thinking about getting some self-defence classes and take them for a while. I don't care if my mom will think that I'm "manly". The 6th girl, I feel your pain! Orlando is a hotspot for human trafficking. I had my WHOLE family there one night (5 kids, husband, and another male friend) and the girls wanted to go off on their own. I didn't want to be a helicopter parent, but I told them I had to go along. At some point, we ended up with 4 guys following us. They ended up EVERYWHERE we did for well over an hour and kept watching us. This is with my husband and the other males in our group as well. I don't know what they planned on, but we went to the security guard and pointed them out. They watched so we could get to our car safely and not be followed, but it was a frustrating end to a really fun day. It's sad you have to be worried all the time, but I tell my kids to always be alert and watch anyone who's suspicious. Plus, make a scene if you need to. Most attackers are expecting you to be too afraid to know how to respond or to just go along with something.

One afternoon, I was returning from visiting a friend. The street was kinda lonely, but up ahead was a major road where I intended to get a taxi. So, I kept on walking. But ahead of me were two guys. One was standing beside the driver's seat whilst the other one crossed to the other side of the street and stood there. I observed their body language and movement. Something told me they were communicating with their eyes and a strange feeling washed over me. So, I followed my intuition and started yelling like a mad person. "Wait for me! I'm coming!!!!!" I was waving at no one in particular, but it sure as hell confused them. I kept screaming and yelling until I ran past them and got the major road where there were cars and motorcycles. I don't know if I was just being paranoid, but like that girl in the video said, "I'd rather be paranoid than dead". Better safe than sorry. It's really sad that this world is full of creeps and beasts. May God protect us, Amen.

When I was about 9 or 10 I remember walking my dog on a pretty rainy fall-ish day. Now the thing is that at that point in time I lived in a woodsy suburban area, and when I would walk my small dog Bella we would take a route that goes through some woodsy paths and eventually leads to another suburban path, which takes us to a secluded lake path with a giant open field, which from there leads back to the opposite side of the neighborhood. At around the time I started the first woodsy path I got a feeling something wasnt right, like, it felt like something was watching me. I kept hearing noises of footsteps over branches. Since I'm quite paranoid in general, I wasn't happy. Sadly...my phone died while trying to contact my Dad. I did a 360 around but couldnt see much. I then reached the lake. For the majority of the time walking down the path the noises stopped and it became quite. Now another thing to mention is the lake was *BIG* and the path went curvy and around it to give an idea. I got to the gate of the neighborhood but looked back. Aaaaand that's when I saw it. A man in a dark black robe and hood, walking far back on the path. I jogged a bit, and so did he. I kept on jogging but he kept on too. So, thinking quickly, I picked up my dog Bella and sprinted. He ran after me, screaming like a madman. I rounded a corner and hid behind a bush of a nearby neighbor. He furiously searched around for about 5 minutes, but later gave up and pounded away. After I made sure he left, I bolted home, which was, thankfully, in the opposite direction. I never was allowed to take Bella out for walks again!

They tried everything to get my attention, they whistled and catcalled. My mum knew what was going on, she told me to ignore them and walk next to my dad. My family decided to go into this watch shop and these men followed us in, i was so scared. they just stood there and stared at me while we were in the shop. the people working at the shop clearly knew what was going on so they stood near me too, but the men didn't care. They even stood at the entrance. They were looking at me and asked if i could meet them outside. My dad finally confronted those men, they got scared and left. it was so traumatizing. i don't know what will happen to me if i were there alone. i'm now 18 and i still can't forget that incident... to all the girls out there, please walk with a group of friends, or at least walk with a guy friend. it's really no safe out there, no matter where you are from.

Idk if it counts or even the intentions of the situation. I was walking home from the bus stop when a car started to approach. I moved to the side of the road to let him past… he didn’t. He slowly trailed behind me. At first I thought he might be trying to turn into a driveway I’m near. But he kept following me. I knew I couldn’t go home. I can’t show them where I live. So, I walked calmly past my home and into the forest trail where a car can’t go. I made an escape towards the back of my house and waited until the car was gone until I went in. Idk if he was gonna kidnap me or something but it definitely wasn’t comfortable. He followed me for about 3min

It absolutely does count! A lot of times our brain (either because it wants to stop freaking out, forget the instance, etc.) downplays what happened, by thinking like 'Okay, the car wasn't following me too long.' or 'Maybe the driver didn't know the area and was just driving slowly bc of that.' or 'I probably overreacted.' and so on. But what's important to know is that that DID happen and you did everything right. You have every right on this earth to do what you have to to keep yourself safe, even if something about a situation/person feels 'wrong'. Always trust that feeling. And if you see anything out of the usual, REMEMBER it! Car brands, liscence plates, a person's face and the way they walk, if they talk with an accent or if they have a raspy voice or talk with a lisp etc.... I can't stress this enough, PLEASE be safe and be aware of your surroundings.

Not really an “intuition saved my life thing” but definitely similar. I was fourteen at the time, going to Costco with my mom, and I was wearing just a regular tank top and shorts, and I saw this man look me up and down. I immediately knew he was checking me out. I told my mom about it and was in tears on the way home. It was the first time something like that had ever happened. The man must have been in his late thirties/early forties and I just could not handle the thought of him looking me up and down. My mom took the chance to give me a few lessons about creeps. I had to use the things she taught me not even a month afterwards. It is the most terrifying thing to be followed or looked at up and down. I don’t care who the hell you are, I don’t care what you have, if you are a man of any kind, mind your business and keep your eyes to yourself. It is so scarring for a young teenager to know immediately that she is being checked out, watched, or followed. Some men may think that we don’t notice but I can assure that we do. PS: My advice to any girl who thinks she’s being followed in a public area, get a good look at him. Check him up and down so that you can describe him clearly, walk with your head held high, and find someone who can help. Never ever go through that without letting someone know.

I have had the gut feeling before... I was walking to my car with my mom and little sister, from a park. There was this guy who was just lounging around on the side of the road, and I had some red flags go up almost as soon as I saw him. In one of his hands he had a knife, now, my brother makes knives, so I'm not scared of just a pocket knife or whatever, but this man had a knife that serves no practical purpose, only to hurt people... he kinda brandished it while looking at us. I dont know if he was just trying to scare us, or had worse intentions... we stayed as far away as possible, and when we crossed the street he started to follow us... we went a different way, and didnt see him again. These red flags, and gut feelings are important to keep us safe! But I think that we need to find the balance between staying safe, and not living our whole lives in fear.

6:26 okay, so for reference I am now 17, and during this story I was 11-14. Story 1: so I used to walk to and from school starting in 2015 while in grade 6. Now I was in a really low income community, and almost guaranteed that there was crime any given moment. My parent only had one car, they both worked, and I had three of my younger siblings growing up living with us. So I walked a three mile route as the fastest way home, and occasionally cut through the high school grounds as it meant it was barely over a mile walk. I walked alone as no one I knew lived in the area, but I walked by a convenience store and would sometimes stop to get something to eat or drink. There were a handful of times when my stomach would turn walking past the store, but there was one time that stays with me. I had gone inside after school to get some food, and that day my body was aching in a way I still can't describe. While walking around the store, I saw older man (mid to late 30's maybe) walking back and forth down the isles and kept glancing back at the cashier. I assumed he was gonna steal something, so I had ignored it and went to the counter. When my back had turned to him my body got stiff again, but 11 year old me was naive. So I had left, without a second thought to head home. I was walking I had the urge to hide, for whatever reason, I hid behind a bush, and the guy from the store comes by really fast with his friend saying 'that little girl can't be far from here', I cried scared the entire way home and never told y parents until about five months ago. Story 2: (context: I was 13 and it was summer before high school, during the beginning or summer camps at the high school) so I had walked about two miles to the store to get me and my siblings some junk lunch while my parents were at work (we were all responsible kids, and we were left in the neighbors watch). While I was walking back home, I was holding the food, and alone as I a was three years older than the rest. So I was walking on a not so busy road as it was faster, and I got really nervous turned around, and noticed a man following me with a rock in his hand. Now being 13, I was 5' tall and right around 98lbs. I had crossed the street and he did too, something, for whatever reason, told me to walk in the road. The guy had speed up and was matching my pace, luckily a woman had been driving and noticed the man. She stopped and pretended to be my school teacher, and offered me a ride to the closest school. She was a complete stranger, but I though that getting kidnapped was better than whatever that man had in mind. He began to call out to me as if I was his child, and the lady whispered that I needed to go along with the conversation and say my favorite color was blue if I knew him (I said red) and say I love soccer if I would like a ride (I go a ride). As I had gotten in the car, the man had thrown the rock and clipped the top of my head. I don't know if I would be alive if that lady wasn't there, I hope nothing but good to her. There are so many stories I my teen years that still continue, but those two are the ones that I will never forget

To all the ladies who shared their stories, thank you for sharing your advice and remembering those dangerous and uncomfortable situations. I’m sorry you had to go through that kind of harassment. No one should go through that and feel terrified like they’re being hunted or something. That’s just so demeaning and that harassment shouldn’t be so frequent. You’re all brave and strong for trusting your instincts and just doing whatever it takes to keep yourself safe. When I was 8 years old, I was walking home from one of my art classes. My art teacher was really good friends with my family and was only like around to block. I lived on the edge of the street and so did she on the opposite side. I just had to walk around a bend to get to and from her house. So as I'm walking home, I see this tiny, old, beat up truck with two guys inside. I couldn't see them that well and didn't look into their eyes because my neighbors willow tree was covering most of them, but I could tell they were both staring at me. As far as I could tell, it was two mexican guys with a lot of tattoos, one very heavy, one very skinny. It would be kind of like an iconic henchman duo from any movie. They had long stringy black hair and thin mustaches. There was also loud music blasting and the heavier one had his window rolled down with his arm hanging out the window. I thought that I could just walk by and act normal because it would be dumb to turn back and ask for a ride from my teacher (she had young kids). Again, we lived so close and a ride would almost be pointless. I couldn't decide whether to press on or go back. I was just crying my eyes out but making no noise because I didn't want them to know I was scared. If I walked by the truck, the guy could have very easy stretched out his arm, grabbed me, and drove away really fast. They also had a very noisy engine. I had lots of art things in my arms and a painting I had done that wasn't completely dry. No one was around and there were fences everywhere. I also didn't want them to know where I lived. As i stood there indecisively bawling, I got the biggest feeling ever that I should turn back. I had been doubting it this whole time because I didn't want to look stupid, but I eventually decided to turn back to my art teachers house. I walked fast because I didn't want them to follow me. I knocked on the door and was still crying because I was so scared she wouldn't answer, they would call my bluff, and come around the corner and grab me. Luckily, she answered and when I asked for a ride, she must have seen the fear in my eyes because she agreed. Her husband took me home and literally just had to drive around the corner on a very calm street. By then, I'm sure she thought I was home, but still agreed to take me. Her husband drove me back to my house and as we passed the corner where the truck was, I realized it was gone. They had driven away because they undoubtedly knew I was either doing back home or getting help. I walked into my house and told my mom all about it, but she said I was being a scaredycat and those were the construction guys. I didn't believe her because there was no construction anywhere near my street and they looked nothing like construction workers. I was annoyed with her for not believing me, and ever since then, I have been deathly afraid of getting kidnapped and what could happen to me. Im still working through it and to this day, I'm so glad I pushed past my fear of looking foolish to ask for a ride. If I hadn't, who knows where I'd be today? But that experience has my scarred for life. At least now I know not to ignore my feelings and impressions. Please stay safe everyone.

I was with a friend in the mall on our way to Victoria secret. There was one guy trying to sell something, I don’t remembered what it was and I kindly declined him. He than proceed to say “wait I know you”. I have never seen this guy in my life. I laughed it off and try to walk away. On my way into entering Victoria secret, I can see him following me. I told my friend walk away from me so I can confirm he is indeed following me. He was. I start shaking and the first thing that came up into my head was *talk to a employee to save yourself!* I walked up to an employee and she asked me stay 6ft away from her and I tried to whisper because this guy was so close to me I was so scared for my life. He than pretend like he knew me, “don’t you hear her she said 6ft away why are you so close to her” when I say I was so angry when he did that. I yelled out “HE’S FOLLOWING ME AND I DONT KNOW HIM!” The employee than took me in the back of the store and I broke down in tears. For him to do that in public imagine what he would’ve done if I was alone.

2 scary experiences! First: was walking in the city one late night after clubbing, my feet were killing me from new heels, so I was walking really slow and couldn't catch up to my girlfriends who were comforting another girlfriend, who was in a heated argument on her phone with her bf. Out of the darkness, an Indian guy crept out of an alley as I walked past (busy street mind you), grabbed me by my wrist and said, "let's go" and started to pull me into the alley. He held on to me so strong that I could not shake his grip off me as he tried to pull me into the darkness. I started screaming my head off and swearing at him, making a huge scene. Everyone noticed and turned around, the guy freaked out, let go and ran away. Second: I lived and travelled in a campervan around my country with my bf. We ended up living in several states temporarily as he worked. One time he had to go to work and I went to go find somewhere to do a workout. I did not know the dogdey parts of town and unfortunately ended up at a park where it seemed ok until the locals began showing up, which I tried to ignore and not judge. It was 10am in the morning, and I witnessed a group of 4 guys turning up and doing ice deals (drugs), an Aboriginal child skipping school and returning home all by himself in school uniform, and then the last guy.... I had my 14 yr old lil dog with me , she was very chilled. I was in tight workout clothes and had finished doing exercise. As I sat in the back of my campervan catching a break with the door open, I got told in my head to grab the kitchen knife and keep it close. I grabbed it and put it just above my head in a small open cupbourd, so I could easily grab it, had no idea why. An extremely drunk man, who at 10am was swaying as he stood still and slurring his words approached me. He was impressed about the campervan and wanted to come inside and have a look, and began leaning on-top of me trying to force his way into the van. My small elderly dog went mental at him, which she has never done in her life! He freaked out from the noise she was making as it caught the attention of the four drug dealers and he left in a hurry. I was about to grab the knife!!! If it weren't for my dog I could have killed the guy or I would have been raped/killed.... I also know of a friend who went running around the block and ended up banging on a person's door for safety because a car pulled up with three men trying to abduct her! Girls always be careful!!!

Literally LAST WEEK I had an experience like this. So I'm from a pretty small town that's well known for how safe it's streets are (literally, people are out all night walking, running, biking, doing whatever, and they're almost always alone, men, women, kids, literally no one is afraid at night on the streets of my town). Me and my two best girlfriends were walking through the local arboretum that has about 3 miles of trails, as well as a road that circles through the whole thing. It may have been a stupid decision to go walking this late (it was about 9 o'clock at night), but we'd done this so many times and we weren't very worried about it. So we're walking along the trail, and at this point it runs right along the road, when a black truck starts driving up behind us. Now the speed limit in the park is like 20 mph, but this car was literally driving as slowly as we were walking, and we could see that there was a lone man inside. So me and my friends just get this gut feeling to move as far over to the side of the path as possible so that we were farther away from this truck. So he pulls past us, and we were getting pretty close to the parking lot where my friend had parked her car, so we're just hoping that he'll go past the parking lot and leave and we can go get in, but NO. This guy pulls into the parking lot and parks right behind my friend's car and turns the lights off (there were no other cars in the parking lot). So we stop, and at that moment we had just reached an intersection where the arboretum road can either go into the parking lot/out of the park, or you can turn off onto a side road that runs for about half a mile and then goes out onto a relatively busy street. My friend just turns and says in literally the calmest voice ever, "Run," and we literally bolt down that side road. My friend whips out her phone and calls her dad (her house was about 3 minutes away by car) and is literally dead sprinting while telling him to come to the arboretum parking lot and wait by our other friend's car so that we can get in safely. Now you gotta know, her dad is literally batman. He's supposedly in his fifties, but he's ripped and he looks wayyyyy younger. And he's literally the most protective father ever, so while we're telling him what's going on, he's sprinting to his car and literally running red lights to come and help us. Finally we stop running because this side road had a nursing home, and we could see people inside, so we just stand there until we know my friend's dad is waiting in the parking lot. Literally like 10 seconds later he says he's there and we start walking back. He's just sitting there in the parking lot, lounging outside of the car, watching the guy in the truck like he's gonna beat him up. We get in the car and all of us leave, but NO JOKE, the moment we pulled out, this truck turns its lights back on and starts the loop through the arboretum AGAIN, driving just as slowly as before. So who knows? It may have been nothing, but we sure were freaked out, and it was pretty weird that he just left and started to drive SUPER slowly again after we left.

A few months ago, I was chased and stalked by a man in an older vehicle while I was walking my dog in broad daylight. It didn't matter what street I went down or what building I hid behind, he found me and continuously followed me. Being deaf, I had to rely on all my other senses to keep an eye on him and make my escape. It was absolutely terrifying. Thankfully, I was able to make it to a neighbor's house who I knew and he was able to get me home safely. There was no one else around as it was a Sunday morning and I still cannot get over how it was around 11am, broad daylight, and I was walking my dog and he decided to come after me. I now have a fear of going for walks and of any vehicle that gets too close to me. I now keep a hidden knife on my keys, a small pocket alarm on me, and a pepper spray/knife combo that straps to my hand. I am hoping to someday get training and a license to carry a gun for extra safety.

Shoot, I remember going to the club one time with a couple of friends. I know I was a bit tipsier but not drunk yet, but even then I knew better than to wander off my own. We were making our way back to the dancefloor before one of my friends grabbed my arm and instantly said "HIDE ME". I found out later that this guy seemed to be stalking her. Not sure if he still is, but we're always on the lookout. Anyway even if she wasn't someone I knew, if someone told me "HIDE ME" with panic in their eyes, you better believe that I'll do what is necessary to keep them safe. All I remember was not saying anything but I instantly placed her in front of me (so that way the dude could only see my back and not her) and used my height to my advantage (I was taller than her). Point being, ladies (and gentlemen!) ALWAYS be on the lookout for someone who needs help, regardless of where and when!

I have a story from when I was around 7 years old and almost got kidnapped.. or worse- in my own house. So one night my parents and I were in the car, driving my sister to the train station so she could attend a party with her friends. As we arrive back from dropping her off- my mom notices the gate leading into the backyard was open. My dad went ahead of us and looked around to make sure it was safe and nothing was amiss. At the moment- it seemed like everything was fine. So my parents and I went out separate ways in the house- my father stayed in the living room to watch a game, my mother went to their bedroom to watch her own show and I went to my bedroom to change into my pajamas/grab a toy before I crashed my parents room (I didn’t like sleeping alone). As I finished dressing and approached my toy table- I noticed a pair of big brown shoes hiding beside the table. I got curious as to why they were there and thought maybe my dad misplaced his shoes. As I round the corner of the table- I slowly realize the shoes were connected to a pair of legs… and the legs were connected to the body of a large man, seemingly in his late 40s- staring dead at me. In that moment I screamed and sprinted as fast as my legs could carry me to my parents room since it was the closest to my room. I screamed to my mother “THERES A MAN IN MY ROOM”. At first my mother was confused and thought I was being weird but then she saw the man run out of my room in panic and my mom immediately bolted and shut the bedroom door before the man could barge inside. We heard the footsteps speed away from the door before my dad started yelling profanities. Crashing and scuffling sounds boomed from the other side- letting us know they were fighting. My dad was yelling for my mom to come help him or call the police- and since mom couldn’t leave me alone she decided the latter. Things got quiet on the other side and my mom tentatively peeked out as she had the police on the line. Eventually my dad came trudging back inside with a busted lip, torn shirt and the police by his side. The police questioned each of us on the incident and the mysterious man. But they never found him. He disappeared. We don’t even fully know why he was there. My dad says that when he had the guy pinned down- he demanded to know why he was in our house. The man was silent for a few long moments before he finally uttered he was there to rob us. But if that were the case- then why would he hide in my room? And later that night when my sister heard the news and decided to come rushing back home- she admitted to feeling like she was always being watched for the past couple of weeks from her bedroom window (her room is right next to mine- and both our windows face the front of the house). So it may not have been his first time. I really hope he’s paying for his sins.

I lived in a beach town when I was in freshman year, I would ride my bike from my house to the beach all the time. One time I was riding back from the beach and this white van with 4 guys in the front were driving slow to the speed I was riding my bike. I thought maybe they were trying to turn and I was blocking the way so I sped up to get past where they could turn, but they kept straight and following my speed. I saw an older woman in her yard and I rode up to her and yelled, “Grandma! Do you need any help with that?” She looked up at me so confused, and I quickly mumbled, “there are guys following me in a van” and she kindly invited me to sit on her porch until I felt safe enough to finish my short ride home.

Ok here is one of my stories : I love to go hiking and I live near a huge forest with lots of hiking trails, but I don’t like taking the trails because I hike alone or with a dog (at the time) it was a golden retriever dog. (Now I have a huge Turkish Kangal dog that wouldn’t hesitate to protect me that I hike with). Anyway I like to walk through the water in the creek for miles instead of a trail because I never run into people that way. One day, it was mid November and the temps outside were about 55° F so the water was freezing but I got used to it. At some point I had this really weird feeling and turned my head around to see this big guy walking through the creek with sunglasses on and leather boots (LEATHER BOOTS!!!) he was about 50 yards away and it seriously creeped me out because I’d never seen anyone walk through the creek since we were in the middle of nowhere, especially with leather boots that aren’t waterproof/ aren’t supposed to get wet and in November when it’s freezing outside. I didn’t really know what to think or thought maybe it was just a coincidence so I kept going but after another mile he was still following and had gotten closer too so by that time I was freaking out and my wimpy golden retriever was freaking out and running ahead in front of me. Also I was getting worried because the creek has really steep banks that were almost 10 foot walls so it would be really hard to get out of the water unless I turned around and went back. But thankfully the creek had a bend in it where the guy couldn’t see me for a small gap of time and my dog found an area on the banks that he could climb up and he ran up and out of the water away from the creek and so I was able to follow my dog by grabbing roots and climbing through the mud and then I put my tennis shoes on and we ran like heck for miles until I got back to civilization. The end lol

My story: (I was 11 in this story btw) So me and my friend where walking from my house to her house. She lived down the street from me and we did this all the time. Our neighborhood is on the edge of a super small town and the road to get into the neighborhood was so hidden you couldn’t see it driving by unless you where looking for it. Due to a small town and a small neighborhood we knew everyone in the hood and even what cars they drove. We where about half way to her house when an unfamiliar white Toyota slowly enters my neighborhood. We’ve never seen the truck but we assumed someone’s friend or relative was visiting. The truck was slowly driving towards us and we could see a dude from the front window. All the other windows where blacked out (which is illegal in my state). We shrugged it off as he was probably trying to find a friend or relatives house. It was like that till he drove around and then drove past us a second time. This second time though he came to a complete stop right next to me and my friend. By now me and my friend where 3/4ths the way to her house and a knot was building in my stomach. Without second though, as the man started rolling down his blacked out window I yanked my friend’s hand and darted down the street. We made it to her house and while she was typing the garage code we saw the Toyota slowly drive by her house and pull out of the neighborhood. If I hadn’t had done that right then and there who knows what would’ve happened-? Now that I think of it my eleven year old self was too dumb to know I shouldn’t have shown him where my friends house was but it was better then getting kidnapped on the spot.

I just remembered one that happened to me. One time in 7th grade, me and my 8th grade friend (we're both girls) were walking the track during pe. It was just the two of us on the track; the rest of the class was on the blacktop having freeplay or whatever, but the coach said we could go walk the track (without supervision). The track is on the outskirts of the school, and there's a road that pretty much circles the outer half of it with a fence too. So while we were walking, an old guy in an athletic jumpsuit in a really nice looking sleek, black car pulls up in the grass next to the fence and gets out. Me and my friend were still walking towards him, we were like hundreds of feet away still, but it was weirding me out. I told my friend but she said she thinks it's fine. Then he starts opening one of the gates and he may have even gotten inside a little bit, and I'm pretty sure he was watching us, so I told my friend we need to go back to the class _right_ then and tell the coach. We turned around and started walking quickly back. We told the coach what had happened and he may have gone to check and see. The guy was gone soon after we left the track. I just had a terrible feeling about purposefully walking toward potential danger when there was still plenty of time to avoid it, and I'm glad my friend agreed to turn around with me. Also, this would have been around 2015

I had to learn how to fend for myself when I was like eleven (the early 2010s) because a huge boy in my school kept following me around. It lasted for ten months and the school refused to stop him because he had a disability and "didn't know what he was doing" even though I overheard him admit that he was trying to scare me to his friends. Not to mention that I was born with the same exact condition he had. I always had to run away from him up several flights of stairs even though I have bad asthma because I was scared he'd touch or rape me or something, it was so *physically* stressful; literally almost having an asthma attack three times a week for nearly a year because the school didn't wanna help me. There were times I seriously considered just letting myself get caught and violated by this boy or running until I suffocate in hopes I survive and could later press charges or something. Eventually I got sick of it though and went out and found this kid after school with my older sister, grabbed him, and pulled his hoodie off his face when he tried to hide from her. Made it clear that if he keeps chasing me, even threatened take a picture and put up warning posters if I had to. I'm not very strong but I know to make others around me VERY aware of a creep when I see one now. I made sure to warn other girls about him too.

Once I was at a park just sitting around it was next to a school right by my house, I decided to start walking home and a car parked ahead of me started driving slowly (even slower than school zone speed so I freaked out), I started to turn back to the spot I was at to sit down and act like i changed my mind to watch them (dumb move) they stopped in their tracks. I freaked out once I saw this, panicking at this point. I got up ever so slowly walking forward towards the sidewalk thinking of my next move, then the car makes a full u turn, I panic more and call a friend, talking loudly making a fake conversation “hey mom I see you I’m on my way over” stuff like that, I keep it up as I speed walk across the street from them and straight to my house, it was two men, I don’t know what they were doing but I really feel I was just lucky they didn’t jump out of the car and take me and that it wasn’t visible to them which house I entered. I was 14 at the time and I made so many mistakes that could’ve been fatal if the situation were different. I hope to prepare myself for the future and refine my instincts .

When I was 13, I was walking to meet my friend to walk to school on a dark winter morning. To get to the meet point I had to walk through a very short little alley opposite my house that went to the main road. As I was getting closer to the end of the alley, I could see a tall figure across the road and I instantly got an awful gut feeling so I decided to act as if I didn't notice him as I came out of the alley and started walking to the meet point. At this point I could feel him following from across the street and then when he crossed over to my side I started walking a little bit faster. I kept glancing back and every time he would be a little closer but still far enough back that if it were anyone else I wouldn't think anything of it. I decided to be 100% sure he was following me so I crossed the road and when I looked back a minute later, he had also crossed back over. Now I was freaking out so I started like speed walking and I crossed back over because I needed to be on the other side of the road and all I could think was that I hoped my friend wouldn't be late. Thankfully she was there and I just grabbed her arm and pulled her with me saying 'just keep going, I'll tell you in the shop'. When we got to the shop, I was shaking and I told her and the owners son (the family were super nice and we saw one of them every day) what had happened. He went out and checked to see if he could see anyone and even tho he couldn't, he told us to stay there for a few minutes and said that if we wanted, he would wake his dad or his wife to come watch the shop and he would bring us to school. We said no because his dad was very elderly and I think they had a young child but that day after school he asked us if we had gotten to school ok and if we had seen anyone else following us. If it weren't to my instincts and that shop being where it was, god knows what would've happened to me and then my friend

So I have a story. I was with my sister, ( cami ), and my best friend, (Alyssa ) we were walking from the front of our neighborhood to the park in our neighborhood, and at a stop sign in our neighborhood, before the park, I noticed that a beige colored vehicle was stopped for a long time, and I just brushed it off. But then I looked back again and noticed him following us. And I was a little freaked out. So then as we got to the park, he rolled down his window, and came to a stop, this is the conversation we had. Him: “How old are you guys?” Me: “Uhm.. why would you need to know that?” Him: “nonono it’s not like that” ( all of us stood silent for a second ) Him: “So I have a daughter that is ( I’m not sharing the age ) “ My sister: “Is she..lost? Or something?” Him: “nonono, it’s just she needs friends, so I would like you guys to be here at noon, tomorrow” Me: “Uhm.. okay?” Afterwords I told my sister and my friend “Yeah, fuck no.” And I tell you, we RAN to my house. I told my mom about it, and we looked out the window, and that same car, drove by. ( We didn’t go to the park, at noon, tomorrow, by the way. )

Why a heavy steel chain? Pepper spray, carrying knife or a gun etc. Is illegal here in the U.K. and pepper sprays aren’t even sold here to get it on the down low. The most we can do it carry a rape alarm which just makes a ear piercing sound.

@@uniquelegance Really? It's illegal to carry PEPPER SPRAY? Oh my god. I thought I had it worse in Poland. (edit: spelling)

Okay so, I have a story it's like the only time I never had my panic go into high alert mode and that's saying a lot because I'm a naturally paranoid person. So, I was walking up to this gas station near my house. I was 17 at the time and I was on the phone with my mom making sure I remembered everything I was supposed to get because my mom was disabled so I was often making trips for her. Anyway, when I get to the store I'm walking there's only one guy outside of the store but the area is busy because of a connecting highway and local businesses well anyway I see this guy, waving and I thought nothing of it because I didn't recognize him at all, he was like late 30's maybe even early 40's, so I go in the store, I hang up with my mom and I'm going and getting the stuff I needed and as I'm pulling some energy drinks out of the fridge this guy comes up to me and starts talking to me, I was polite but I still had to get home so I was rather in a rush, and he is still talking to me even as I'm paying. And it wasn't until I saw his nails that, I remembered meeting this guy a couple of months prior at another gas station across the street with my mom, he loved our nails. And when I say this guy had the nastiest looking nails ever I mean it. Anyway, I get my stuff and walk out and now this guy offers me a ride. Now I don't show it in my face, but I've seen a lot of horror movies so I had so many scenarios going in my head and I was panicking but stayed calming during all of this so I declined and remained polite then left, I immediately pull out my phone and call my mom to tell what just happened and I make it as far as the car wash near me when this guy comes up to me again offering me his numbering, saying he does some type of yard work and my mom heard everything. After that I keep looking behind me until I got home I was terrified. I haven't left my house alone much since then.
