Girls Und Panzer Character Analysis: Anchovy

I can't help but picture a timeline where Anzio won the tournament and Anchovy celebrated with a Roman Triumph.

I just love Anchovy and how friendly she is in the show to her teammates and opponents, yes she wants to win the battles but at the same time you can tell she is having fun with her team and always seems to have a smile on her face

Here she is, the supreme dork, my favorite girl, the one and only, Duce Anchovy!!! Ps* I salute you for cosplay as Anchovy my good sir, it takes a real man to cosplay the best girl! The "Avanti! Anzio Koukou" is amazing, I recommend it for anyone who likes the Anzio highschool.

I like to say, half jokingly and half seriously, that Anchovy and the Anzio crew are some of the most effective tankers in the entire show. Pepperoni and Amaretto are both amazing drivers, with Pepperoni's ability to keep stable on the rollercoaster even when it got to be just barely wide enough to fit their tankette. I'd also give her the credit for being able to maneuver the L3 into skipping across the pond. As for Amaretto she's the driver in the Anzio fight and doing everything Pepperoni's L3 does in that battle. Not only that but in the Das Finale St. Gloriana vs Anzio fight it is Amaretto doing the driving when they dunk one of the 3 crusaders in the river. Then you have Carpaccio who, despite Hippo Team's StuG being effectively superior in every way to her Semovente still manages to draw with them. Finally for Anchovy herself, all of her plans are actually pretty darn good, especially the Das Finale plan of using the Semoventi to make up for the fact that the P40 isn't nearly as fast as the other tanks they have. The biggest thing holding back Anzio is their hardware, I genuinely believe they'd be a top contender if their L3s had the 20mm anti-tank rifle as their main gun, let alone if they had tanks like the M14/15/16 or more powerful Semoventi.

I seriously dont want to be mean, but the moment I saw that Cosplay, I couldn't help but burst into laughter.

best girls analysis LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! *I know this could apply to any GuP character, but Chovy really steals the spotlight whenever she's in a scene. The beginning of the Anzio OVA stabilished her and her school so well (loved your video about it btw), her entrance with the CV33 in Der Film "from the nation of Pasta and Passion, Duce is here" was awesome, and even the small parts in Das Finale were a delight to have. Too bad we probably won't see much more of her in part 4 onwards. Anzio might not be the best school, but it's certainly the one I have the most fun watching everytime.

Chovy is definetly a favorite of mine as well. But like you said...that includes most of the cast for me as well xd she really is an adorable goof that you just have to love. Plus i have a soft spot for italy considering italian tanks are amongst my favorite to play in war thunder xd

Mad respect for the cosplay bro. I don't think I have enough courage to do that. Chovi is my absolute favorite. While she is often portrayed as a sort of comic relief character, she does have her shining moments in the series.

The commander who was originally portrayed as an intimidating evil enemy, only to turn out to be an adorable silly and lighthearted commander and one of the nicest girls in the series. Gap moe is done best with Anchovy "Duce" Moesolini. She tries so hard to lead such a subpar team, but she certainly leads them well regardless of her team's... shortcomings. Aka tankettes. She really is a great commander who brings the most energy of all the commanders and is definitely one who has some of the cutest moments and the best fashion of them all. She really is a top tier girl and one of my top 5 favorite commanders of them all. And, just because this is Chovy's video. Duce! Duce! Duce! Duce!

Best Girl, hands down. I mean up! And, we can't overlook Kira Vincent Davis. In the English dub, I can't think of a better choice.

Hell yeah, Chiyomi is best girl! The OVA made her my favurite character in the entire show, and the 4komas showing even more of the gap moe that exists between Chiyomi and Anchovy cemented it. The Anzio manga has a line that perfectly sums up what makes Anchovy such a fun and loving character. "The Pizza forms a circle, and a circle connects people with each other."

I like how she's literally the only character in the entire series to have unrealistic anime hair, and how hee teammates assume she wears a wig because of that.

Imagine if Anzio at least had m13/40 41 0r 42 medium tanks instead of cv 33

Anchovy, along with much of Anzio, falls under the category of "They just need a hug". Granted, they are less in that territory than one of my favorite St. Gloriana Characters, Nilgiri (The first St. Gloriana girl to be taken out of every match, that was her Matilda that the History team took out in the first few episodes), but they are still in there.

Imagine this pepperoni bust down the door and says “Duca we’re out of pasta rolls! Wait your not Duca?” Then they look at pepperoni and take off there glasses and say “pepperoni I am Duca”

Anime girls with twin drills are the best.

While the characters are far better in the anime, the Anzio battle is far better in the manga where (SPOILER!) Anzio lured Oarai into a killing zone, used the P40, with it's long barreled 75mm gun as sniper, and one of the tankettes as command tank, so it could stay hidden without subtracting much to the team's firepower. It had been a tough battle. The last scene of the TV anime however shown that battle to have been a walk in the park for Oarai, and couldn't be changed for the OAV.
