The sequence at 20:26 is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in chess by a very large margin. HOLY MOLY YASSER! That was insane!!!

20:53 the way Yasser had been moving pieces, I half expected him to drop that pawn before landing on g7 for mate

20:26 his combo works. much simpler is placing Nh6+. if gxh6 place Qg7# and if Kh8 place Qg8+ followed by Rxg8 and Nf7#.

20:25 N@h6+ instead of P@f7+ also wins. gxh6 Q@g7# and Kh8, Q@g8 with a smother mate

I'm getting the sense that Knights are much better than Bishops in crazyhouse... possibly even better than rooks. You don't have to worry about knight's slowness because you can just drop them in ideal spots. And their attacks (especially checks) cannot be blockaded by piece drops, which is huge for checkmating combos.

Legend has it that Yasser was once threatened with death by a Saudi Prince because Yasser defeated him in crazyhouse in only 3 moves. The Saudi Prince later apologized, kissing Yasser's hand and swearing fealty to his genius.

Very fun video! Intriguing game against gena at 1:27:19. Perhaps the attack (starting with the Bishop sac on g7) didn't have enough firepower to maintain the initiative, but interesting nonetheless.

1:30:56 would place queen on h1 be a good way to avoid checkmate. You would of course have to sacrifice a queen and rook tho.

Oh nvm after capturing on h1 with the pawn they will force checkmate with place queen again but on g2 lol savage

at 20:28, shouldnt black have played Kh8 instead of Rxf7? It still seems to run into N@g6+ hxg6 Nxg6+ Kh7 etc but at least it's not as immediate of a loss (it seems like). He mightve survived a few more moves, maybe Im missing something ridiculously obvious tho

It seems to me that frequently when Eric is observing another Chessbrah such as Yasser he typically starts to kibitz and distract them when they are in a difficult situation, and thereby sabotages them. I'm not saying he does it with intent, but I've seen it happen a lot.
