The fact that they did a modern version of the tree getting shoved down Zilla's throat makes this movie a piece of history edit: I apologize for using Zilla instead of Godzilla. I had forgotten that Zilla was that discusting abomination that was the US Walmart rip off.

There were alot of callbacks to those old fights. I also love that kong tries to rip open godzilla's jaw (like every other reptile he's fought) but his breath was too hot lol.

Mecha Godzilla Was gedorahs consciousness, In old Japanese lore, there is a such thing called a “wish dragon” whose bones still grant wishes Long after the dragon dies. That’s why they was using gedorahs head as a hub/cockpit. But I don’t think they knew he would gain control of the host

They were fighting because they were the last remaining Alpha titans, and Kong never bowed before the recognized Alpha of Godzilla. Then Godzilla chose to spare Kong, he didn't see Kong as a threat that needed to be killed...he had shown who was the King of Monsters. Then in the end, they recognized each other as allies and not enemies, willing to coexist on the side of humanity, but in their own worlds.

Either both continue and one of them die or just called it quit and just leave it as it is. Godzilla prove to Kong he was the dominant one during their fight but Kong proved when push comes to shove he can tackle a challenge head on without backing down. Add in the fact Kong had backed up Godzilla against Mecha G goes to show Kong had the strive to face the bigger threat. When all was said and done, both Titans were already at their limit. They now know where each other stand and both were more than happy to withdraw to not further push their already driven instinct to face one another. Once again in my mind, Godzilla had prove himself as the Dominant King while Kong had proven himself a valuable but formidable Ally when push comes go shove and that's why I find this movie great.

@@HABO2210 i don't think so. In Kong's "true" home or at least his species, we know the fact that the powers sources of kong's axe is Godzilla or his skin. It means that thess 2 species has been a rival like from the beggining. The fact that in the end of the movie Godzilla didn't attack kong because he wanna see kong's reaction (attack or not). An then finally kong put down the axe. These 2 titan make a peace sign. At least that's what i thought

Round 2 and 3 were one round, Kong and Godzilla were both thrown back, then when Godzilla got back to his feet mere moments later he defeated (killed) Kong. I say defeated because he was sparing Kong's life, but Kong went and died from the damage anyway lol

No hate but if this wasn't in a city he would lose mych faster. They put tye fight in a city so kong could use buildings and use tactics. Kong was also getting his ass whooped by mechagodzilla and the only reason kong destroyed MG was because he had a godzilla dorsal plate as an axe and godzilla powered up the axe. If kong didn't have an axe at all ans godzilla never ysed his atomic breath kong would still 100% lose. Im a Godzilla fan but also a Kong fan so im not being biased just telling how it is.

But In his fight with Kong, he didn’t need to charge it up since Kong was pretty fast and could just dodge it if he sees it coming. Also Kong would’ve never knocked down the G man if the axe was never charged up from the atomic breath Bruhh

It's like Godzilla was boss but got humbled real quick by his revived nemesis in his own image. An upgraded one at that. A very cool twist/homage to the bones of old godzilla(1954) inside mecha-Godzilla(1974) plus Ghiddora's revenge as Mecha-Ghidora(1992).

@@everything9466 when two animals are fighting for dominance and one has made a decisive blow they generally roaring at each other with one coming up on top in and the other sounding back to show submission, that's why Godzilla looked at Kong the way he did and walked away after that 🦧 fell in line that's how animals do. Godzilla could have easily killed Kong there if he wanted to be he didn't which is another thing animals do once the dominance is settled, he just made his point.

All of Kong's powerful punches and kneecap blows honestly didn't damage Godzilla much only with that axe was he able to pierce Godzilla's skin, whereas Godzilla claws ripped Kong's flesh easily. At the end of the day folks despite all the hype Kong never had a chance against Godzilla. Kong got heart tho I'll give him that, but Godzilla doesn't give a shit about heart LITERALLY 🤷🏿‍♂️

What these other reviewers don't realize is that in every movie or film known since the beginning of movies and films there has been a protagonist (hero) and an antagonist (villain). The reason why very little development is given to the human characters is because they are not the stars of the movie; The Monsters are. They aren't even supporting actors, in the traditional sense, because their interaction with the monsters are limited because they can't communicate with each other. I'm going to take a wild guess that the only human character we are going to care about is the little girl that can communicate with Kong. Unless each character has a personal interaction with the stars of the movie they are basically going to reduced to spectators, like the audience, watching the monsters fight. This has always been the case with Kaiju films and even in the hands of the most skilled writers you cannot overcome this dynamic. Kaiju film, even at its highest execution, has always been a B movie at its core. You can point to a Godzilla 1954, but the vast majority of these films are cheesy. I don't use cheesy as a pejorative, because that is a central part of their charm, but as an objective fact. Have you seen the original King Kong vs Godzilla? LMAO
